See what you did to Husker Fans?!! You made them all talk about Matt Rhule and they devoted a whole page of discussions on him. First off you hearing some chatter it's Rhule from where? What evidence do you have to show it's him or any other coach? You don't have a clue who it is bc NOBODY DOES. There hasn't been any evidence to even speculate it's going to be a certain coach. Your statement is click bait just to stir up and get Husker Fans rowdy.

Sharpe and Benning on 1620 is saying this.
Plus a special Board of Regents meeting today, the signs are there.

I wonder now if that would be the case.  He's tasted the ugliness of the NFL and Saban has coached him up on college ball.

I can see Aranda but I have a hard time seeing Stoops moving - he is king of the hill at Ky.

John Calipari is king of the hill at Kentucky. Football is an afterthought compared to basketball.

Can we all finally agree that Mickey Joseph isn't the guy?

He never was. He did his job and now it’s time for the next head coach to get his shot.

Mickey did what we needed him to do for the time being. There was nothing more to it.

  5. I’m guessing that Trev has it down to at least his top 3 by now. And I wouldn’t be shocked if he actually already has his guy.

Trev seems very calculated and thorough. Plus you know damn well he had a lot of the ball rolling already last year.

Last thing, you don’t hire a search firm to hire the interim. Mickey has done what we needed him to do in the short term. He’s righted the ship and kept the team together in uncertain times, but that’s it with him.

McElroy of ESPN says there is a small list of jobs Rhule would consider and none are currently open. He thinks Rhule will be on TV next year. So you might be spot on…

He could easily sit out and wait for his dream school Penn St. to come open.

    When people are bringing up

guys like Iowa’s DC or WSU’s coach or North Dakota State’s coach as candidates that tells me all

i need to know. I’ve been ridiculed from the beginning for saying we need a proven winner and legit recruiter. Still plenty of folks with the “stars don’t matter” mentality

The thing is recruiting only gets you so far. It does set you up to succeed to a certain degree, but you still have to retain and develop those players.

This was one of Frost’s biggest downfalls here.

Believe it or not a lot 4-5 star players still need developed. A very select few are plug and play difference makers.

A coach that has a staff that can recruit a top 25 class and can retain & develop them will in the long run out-recruit some of those with the top 15 classes.

Unfortunately I personally think MJ is gone if he doesn’t get the HC gig… and with him go all his guys.

And as unfortunate as that is it’s ok.

There are plenty of coaches that can recruit to Nebraska.

This notion that if Mickey leaves we are all doomed needs to stop.

There is no way Mickey Joseph is pulling top 15 classes as a first time head coach to a bottom dwelling program in the middle of Nebraska. I like him and he’s a good recruiter but that’s delusional.

Don’t tell that to half this board. You will get blacklisted lol
