  1. I realize this is a terrible blow to the team, but Chase Rome is an absolute monster. The kid would get his chance, unfortunately it is coming early. Crick will still be around as a leader and voice in the locker room, so I'm not worried about loss of heart or play, but his knowledge on the field was more valuable. Hopefully with Baptiste and the Depth at D-Line this won't be too big of a hit to the season....
  2. Why do I feel so negative about this Wisconsin game? I am usually that overzealous Husker fan who can't think anything negative. But this game seriously scares the crap out of me. We are not ready.
  3. I think that the crowd is very reactionary. To bad plays, there won't be any "great jobs or cheers". Obviously the crowd is going to get quiet. But yeah overall much better than the past several games. I have a great feeling about the atmosphere for the Ohio State game.
  4. Bring Dennard back and I think people will be surprised at how much it helps the defense. One leader/presence can take everything to another level.
  5. For all the people moaning about how the Nebraska crowds have been weak lately, I thought that the crowd was actually really great on Saturday. However, some idiots in the student section are trying to get a bunch of new chants going. One of them being "Can't be beat" "Won't be beat". This stinks and has never worked. Stick with tradition. If you've never experienced a Husker Power chant, you are missing out. It gets me pumped every time.
  6. Lots of dirty/tough play for sure. Seemed like, both from their demeanor on the field and from player statments, that Washington rolled in very cocky to this game.
  7. I saw one of the dirtiest plays I've seen ever watching football in this game. (Excluding that sack-grab at Arrowhead last year....) At about the 30/40 yard line right in front of the East student section, there was a dog pile on top of Martinez, and one player was ripping and twisting his head. The student section went nuts and boo'd the ref for not calling it. I actually saw this go uncalled in the Texas game last year too... Washington fans have no reason to complain about crappy officiating, as the official had plain view of this entire play. Proof that I was at the game: I am in the screen shot of the student section. Backwards snapback hat and fake Ray-Bans, 3rd row. The snapback is from the 96 Fiesta Bowl and is signed by Tommy Frasier. I'm a self-promoting name-dropper.
  8. When I lift at the Rec Center on campus, Choi is occasionally in there (some athletes prefer to forgo their million dollar facilities and have the occasional workout in with the underlings). Anyway, he is a complete monster, an absolute physical beast. Instantly the strongest person in the building when he walks through the doors.
