One thing to keep in mind defensively is where Chinander is calling plays today. The coaches booth is not at midfield. Its closer to one of the end zones which gives a much tougher angle of view on drives depending on where the ball is. That will be a challenge for them today to communicate well with the defensive coaches on the field to get a good picture of what Northwestern is doing.

It still could be. In some ways our struggles with breaking bigger runs early in this game might be a blessing in disguise. It really gives the coaches and players something to work on to improve. Long season ahead of us, so there is still time to refine things.

The biggest play in my eyes from that 1st quarter was Casey Thompson's poise on the third down before our touchdown where no one was open. He stayed with the play - and found his checkdown - what a concept!

I love how Casey Thompson steps up in the pocket. Big difference from the last four years.

I completely agree with you. I too really liked those 62 uniforms for the 300th sellout. I think some people forget there is a difference between throwbacks and alternates. I don't mind throwback uniforms that honor the past for one game.

The one thing that stands out to me about that clip is the audio is specifically mentioning Rozier. So whatever they have planned on 8/15/22 could also be something directly related to Mike Rozier. Who knows?

I would be personally fine if we never did alternate uniforms again. However, the current generation of recruits are really into that kind of thing, so I'll just sit back and let them do their thing.

Interesting. My best guess is this could be either: An announcement of throwback uniforms for this year. OR The stripes are coming back to our traditional Home & Away uniforms.

I should clarify this guy hasn't been 100% right in the past, but he has been pretty spot on in calling for this exact kind of breakaway from the NCAA months ago.

The more I think about it, I can't help but wonder if Graham Harrell's name was purposely floated out there now to gauge what the fan's reaction would be? Based off multiple Husker message boards (including this one), and along with twitter reactions to the Lincoln Journal Star story about the OC search - the overwhelming consenus at least from the fans is that this hire would be an absolute train wreck of a disaster. Frost would essentially be signing his own pink slip for next year by hiring Graham Harrell as his OC.

I should add that while the Offensive Coordinator position is a big hire for Scott Frost because it will signal what direction that offensive scheme is going (staying similar or complete overhaul)... The most important hire for Frost is easily the Offensive Line coach. This position must be filled by someone who is equally a tremendous teacher as he is a stickler for technique. The O-line is what greases the groove for the rest of the offense. If the line struggles the whole offense struggles. (See the last 4 years)
