  1. Antonio Bell firing back at Pelini...this is out of control...he has lost this team.
  2. Even if we win...we are squeaking out a win against Northwestern.
  3. I'm a huge Bo fan. I think Beck and Paps will be good coaches someday. I HATE the notion of starting over with coaches and all that means in terms of recruiting and rebuilding. I hate it. But watching the game today if finally became clear to me. Looking at the NW players on the field. Man for man, with perhaps only one or two exceptions, our players are bigger/better players..more core skills. I understand the whole "players have to play" argument...and that holds good for one or two games every couple of years. But this is happening every game. It can only be coaching. Only that. I don't think our program can endure as a "perennial power" if this continues. I'm no head hunter, but I have to think there is enough corn money floating around to buy a set of top flight coaches. Many teams have proven it doesn't need to take 4 - 6 years to build a winning team. I will always love the Huskers..win or lose. But this kind of performance just hurts deep in my gut. The guys in the big red uniforms deserve better.
  4. A trap play....right out of the Husker MNC playbooks...hmmmm..imagine that....and it still works? Wow...what a revelation.
  5. I love me some Kenny Bell...even despite the fumble...that guy is both cool and awesome!!!
  6. I think you are right on target. I remember the local old boys where I grew up wanting to run Tom out of town for "getting a big head and thinking he needs to go to California to play one of them teams his first year"...totally not understanding the schedule was made years in advance. All the jokes about it taking Tom 3 hours to drive from Lincoln to Omaha because he's afraid to pass....his wife serving him cereal on a plate because he chokes on the bowls...etc, etc, etc. As much as it aggrevates me to see games like OSU last week, for me it does come down to Ws and Ls at the end of the season.
  7. What if we do win out the rest of the year? What if every game is ugly, mistake prone and hideous, but we win out? Would that silence the gloom and doom crowd? I suspect that is the worst possible scenario in the view of some "fans".
  8. The Kansas State comment is valid in a hard core way. We've got the kids, they need to be coached. To steal from an old Nebraska basketball chant "Fire Bo, dig up Bob!" Edit: We have the kids to do better and be more consistent than we are. We do still have a lack of talent compared to many of the top teams in the country.
  9. Whoa....Pelini dominates in several categories then! Sweet!!!
  10. I don't know which is funnier..him throwing the monitor over the cubical wall..or the fact he's there supposedly typing into the computer, but the monitor has no cords attached...
  11. When evaluating "slow, weak and soft", I imagine being chased by them. That changes my opinion of them dramatically.
  12. I agree...as much as these losses do suck, I'm for giving him a couple more years to get it on the right track...the only thing I hate worse than these losses is the thought of completely starting over.
  13. Yes we do...contend almost every year and win it at least every 5 years or so.
  14. I think I'd want Zoogies...if we can afford him. Don't know if he can coach...but my Jr High FB coach was Coach Zuegge...pronounced the same as Zoogie...and he was awesome. And I went to JR/SR High school in Nebraska..so that would maintain Nebraska ties to the coaching hire.
  15. Whatever context is needed for you to finally get that off your mind! Pelini's undefeated! How's that suit your fancy??? He is undefeated after bye weeks, or on bye weeks?
  16. Here's what I want TO and Shawn Eichorst to do: During this bye week, seal up Memorial stadium. Turn loose a hundred or so wild boars. Give each player AND each coach a spear, a knife, some matches and a stack of wood. If anyone isn't willing to chase down a boar, kill it, clean it and eat it for a week, they are given a pat on the back, a "thanks for playing" and shown the door. The rest get to stay with the team. Kind of a team building event if you will.
  17. Well said...thanks for contributing...
