  1. T-Mart's footwork could be improved. If you are happy with 55% completion fine. Some footwork help, imo, would help him make some measurable strides as a passer.
  2. Well, at least 2 of the next 3 are on the road so Bo can't blame the home fans. That is good. Sure would be nice to repay the PSU favor from 2002.
  3. Umm, go ask some LSU fans, there are many who still think he is the worst coach in history. Bo is setting a trend of losing to losing teams. That is bad. He shouldn't and won't be fired. However, these bad losses at home need to stop. There is NO excuse for these flat home performances. I suppose it is the fans fault (sarcasm). 3 tough games ahead. Should be entertaining. (oh, and Urban Meyer? Seriously? NU would have to pay $10 mill to get Urban to even give them a glance).
  4. Dirk is just writing a story on an NU subject with a fairly long and strong tradition that has been oddly managed by Bo. On a now defunct message board I suggested that Bo is a media genius as he has made this week's focus be on "blackshirt tradition" rather than a possible trap game against an experienced mobile QB. Just like he made the weeks after a great comeback be about his rant against Dirk (so that the team couldn't read article upon article about their great comeback). Next week, I suspect Bo might say that he always wanted to coach under Joe Pa.
  5. Sure, he makes yards, but his explosive 20+ yard runs have been dwindling (His last 20+ yard run by the stats I see on Huskers.com looks to have been a 28 yarder against Wash). Why have they dwindled? Defensive schemes? Play-calling? Frankly, I think Beck has shifted the offense to lean far less on T-Mart needing to make 20+ yard runs to be successful. I think that is good. I think it protects/rests NU's D. T-Mart is still a running threat sure, but the nature of his threat has changed. What makes T-Mart intriguing, like D Rob at Mich, is that feeling he can take it to the house from 50 yards. But game play is showing that he is far less of a threat to do that lately. Here's hoping he goes 65 yards tomorrow.
  6. They should play for who gets the tax revenue from all of the casino boats on the Missouri.
  7. Well, Bo has baffled many a traditional drop back QB. But regardless, any game in which NU needs to go score for score with T-Mart needing to convert 3rd and longs is a roller coaster. I need to watch more tape to see why he isn't a running threat anymore. I suspect it has something to do with is inability to run laterally (ie elusively). But need to watch for that.
  8. Yeah that. NU figured some things out against OSU true. But, if B. Miller doesn't get hurt there is no comeback. And if B. Herron was playing . . . . Much like PSU and Mich, NU is a 1 loss team with several flaws. Perhaps they continue to be protected or improved. I hope so.
  9. I think Beck and Bo have realized that riding Burkhead has a better risk/reward ratio. Using T-Mart as a "game manager" seems to work (and I am surprised as anyone that I used "game manager" and T-Mart in the same sentence). Further, T-Mart's explosive running ability has, in many ways, either evaporated or been contained by opposing defenses. And for all the support by the coaching staff for T-Mart's throwing motion, don't for a second think that the QB position won't be an open audition during T-Mart's career should someone like Carnes or a new recruit show better passing skills and acceptable rushing ability. I have been pleasantly surprised with T-Mart as game manager since WI. However, his continued inaccuracy and inability to hit receivers in stride will haunt him until it is corrected. You can't leave points on the field against SEC defenses. And you can't make a poor throw that should be a TD and instead is a nice reception down to the 3. Solid D's will hold you to a FG. And 3's don't win championships in football.
