  1. Thanks. Figuring out this board.
  2. Unsure if this has Ben posted or if this forum has another teams board, but damn, ISU hanging tough and tying OSU late in the 4th.
  3. I don't know if I have ever seen/heard it this quiet before a game. Especially with the B1G on the line. I really think this will be the first game all season we see a full four quarters of good play from both sides of the ball.
  4. Depends on which one of our D's show up. I think our O can keep up with them and is much harder to stop and more unpredictable than Michicken can imagine or has seen. I am sure that Beck doesn't even know what he will run from play to play until he sends it in. If he calls another MSU or PSU game, we will have them on the ropes and quickly. Catching the ball will be paramount. We have to move the chains, eat the clock and score TD's instead of FG's. Folks have talked at length about the keys to stopping MIchickens O. Same as folks have played us, only Martinez is really turning into a "passer". If only we could catch! Stuff the box and hold contain.
  5. Bottom line is that the kids today are the techno generation. They have grown up with the internet/facebook/myspace/texting etc........ Uniforms ultimately will not get a kid to school "X", but they do make them, IMHO, more attractive to recruits. At least at first glance. They are flashy and showy with a lot of bling. I have been a Husker fan over 30 yrs. We have not been relevant since 2001. Haven't won the division since 1997, IIRC. A change would put us more in the "media" and get exposure to the kids. It would be a low cost recruiting tool. IMO, our Uni is solid like Bama, PSU, Michigan etc.... It is recognized everywhere. BUT with Wisky, Indiana etc...a different color/scheme would be cool for certain games. The only folks who really like change are babies with dirty diapers.
  6. Spy DR. Stuff the box like most have done to us, let AD and AG go man, have safety support for the run and Beck calls a complete 4 quarter attcking O game plan. IIRC, DR, has been pulled each of the past two games because of injury. Defensively, I would plan to hit him on every single play. As I said in another thread, not cheap shots or dirty, but when the opportunity presents itself, let him feel the heat. Make him gunshy to take off. D needs to control the LOS and hold their lanes, not allow him in the open field. DR is very quick (not as straight line fast as Martinez), but much more shifty.
  7. I dunno, looks to me like it could be a fake. Visible pads look like something from the 80's. Real helmet, just not an accurate representation of what a new one would look like (new style helmet, not paint scheme).
  8. Well, I'll be able to tell if Nebraska wins or loses this game based on our 1st series. If our Oline get no push (like NW) we lose. If they do we win. If they at least can hold their own somewhat then I'll use your scenario. Defensively, we just "must" send some pressure. Super D........WHERE ARE YOU? I have said the Super D comment numerous times. Look at Super D in 2003 and see his crazy stats ie led TFL, sacks, fumbles etc..... Bo created that beast and hasn't been seen since. What bout Osborne in that role? Hits like a train, big enough and quick enough. Could use Cooper or SJB as well. Something different no team has seen from us. Great wy to generate pressure. Robinson is a great running QB and non threat at passing. Let Dennard and Green go an on receivers nd use Stafford and or Cassidy in run support. Is Thorell fast enough to spy DR. ? Have we/has Bo ever used a spy? Maybe against Pryor at VT?
  9. We need to bring up a LB/DB in a Super D mode ala 2003 ie led the team in TFL, sacks and was second overall in tackles that year. Paging Mr Osborne, Paging Mr Osborne. Not every down per say, but enough to be a constant. Hits like a rain, fast and could also spy Robinson. Saw David mentioned, but as the best LB we can ill afford him to be out of position on other plays. I don't care who we use in that role, but it would surprise Michiken. If we used a spy, what about Staford and Osborne as safety or even SJB if he is healthy. Our D line also has to force Robinson into the pursuit. D needs to hold their lanes and not get caught inside. DE play will be critical. If they over pursue or get caught inside, Robinson is gone. Robinson also appears more shifty in the open field than Martinez. Critical to make contact and wrap up and then gang tackle. Robinson does not appear to be the most durable guy, hit him every play. No cheap shots or late hits, but he needs to feel pressure and contact whenever possible. LB's have to play solid in the middle and get off the blocks to tackle in space. As Robinson is similar to Martinez in passing skills, I would like to see the DB's keep their eyes on the QB to come up and assist in broken plays or designed QB runs sooner than later. I also think that we can allow our CB's to play on an island this came without safety support over the top. I think Dennard is definetly good enough and Green should be able to hold his own. Do this until Robinson shows he can beat us with his arm. Similar to what every D has done to us this far. Load the box, stuff the run and force them to pass. Would love to see a lot more blitzes, started closer in and from multiple spots. Sell out ala MSU. Injuries on both sides will play a huge part as will fatigue. we are down some key players for sure. On the O side, establish the run. I lked what Beck did for three quarters in mixing up personnel and formations to not allow PSU to really get into their base D. Will need that again this weekend. Would also like to see misdirection and play action to slow what I am sure will be a sell out D ie 8-9 in the box with blitzes. A draw or two and the misdirection will slow this down. Try the bubble screens to get the ball to the playmakers on the outside. Match up a big a$$ Kinnie and Quincy against smaller DB's. Get the ball to Reed in some more mismatches against their DB's. I don't watch practice, but would like to see JT more. The first 5 games he flashed some brilliance. Would also like to see Michicken be stupid enough to punt or KO to AA in a manner that allows a return or two or three (one KO and the rest punts!). Also need to use the triplets more. Bring a change of pace and not a lot of film on them. The game comes down to limiting Robinson's big plays and Beck calling a complete 4 quarter game.
  10. IIRC, leading through five games and now completely absent. Odd the coaches haven't seen this lack of practice motivation during the spring ( lit up the red white game) or during the fall or the first five games. Now you take the other players missing in Osbone, Cooper, Mitchel etc..... It makes you wonder. Injury bug or dog house? I look at Dillard and Glenn and lean towards dog house. Regarding his comments, I really can't imagine him saying " I did such and such, the coaches are ticked now I'm getting screwed". What do y'all really expect him to say. Not o mention the drops by several starters and the emergence of Khiry at PSU. Just odd to me.
  11. No one wants this more thn us. Helps to have other schools pulling or us.
