  2. That's a pretty good exaggeration of what they said. Not that what announcers say has much to do with anything. I would have like to watch him play more this year. I wanted to watch tonight but only got home for the last 10 minutes. He's obviously putting up numbers. But I'm not ready to say the Huskers should have taken him. And it's not because I'm trying to defend Miles, in case you wondered. I watched him play several games in high school. He was good. But I didn't think that he was athletic enough to play in the Power 5. Now, he's obviously put in a lot of work and gotten stronger. But I don't think even tearing up the Summit League guarantees that either, even with three years of hindsight. He wouldn't be getting the same shots against a couple steps up in competition. And I'm not sure how his defense would be. Like I said, this was the first I've gotten to see him since HS. Maybe I'd change my opinion if I saw more of his game. But this is with a lot of benefit of hindsight. And I'm not even necessarily saying he couldn't help the Huskers now. We could use about any help we could get. But it was far from a given three years ago. It's not like the Huskers were the only ones to pass on him. Apparently Colorado and Iowa weren't beating down his door either. To say nothing of Colorado State or maybe even Wyoming.
  3. Um .... pretty sure things that happen after he signed can't affect whether he signs or not. Now, he definitely wanted to play corner. And that's fine. He could still turn into a really good one. But he wasn't ready last year. Still not ready apparently. So I don't think he should have been out there. It's almost like we were playing him so we could say we were playing him.
  4. DWilliams said Lamar Jackson "still needs to learn how to be a cornerback at an elite level." You can take that different ways. I think the biggest thing is Jackson was not a corner in high school. I think it was a mistake to try to play him at corner right away last year. He obviously wasn't ready. He should have either stayed at safety or redshirted so he had more time to learn.
  5. DWilliams says Avery Anderson definitely in the mix. Said not to take too much from the pre-spring depth chart.
  6. DWilliams says Eric Lee definitely in the mix. Said not to take too much from the pre-spring depth chart.
  7. Carlos up to 305.. Khalil at 295. Both throwing the disc again this year.
  8. Visited UCLA last weekend. Has visits set to Oregon State and Washington State. Looking to visit Washington and Nebraska. Hearing from Washington, Utah & USC. Competing in The Opening - Los Angeles this weekend. No rush to decide.

  10. I see this is from August so my apologies if it's been posted. I just ran across it today and thought it was interesting.
  11. Yes, most people realize that now. But that wasn't the case a couple years ago.
  12. I mean, some teams are better than others. But that's mostly their conference. You conference has (relatively) comparable talent. And considering SMU was 2-10 that year, I think you're kind of guessing on this. Unless by "NO" you meant that Tulane was so much better they weren't on the same level. And I'm always a little amused when this comes up. Same way when some of TA's struggles early on were blamed on our OL. Your QB needs to be able to bring everyone else up - play better than others around him. Period. If he's only going to be as good as the guys around him, you're not going very far.
