  1. Per ESPN's Hollinger Player Effiency Rating sytem, Nebraska' highest-rater player is .... .... wait for it ...... Ed Morrow.
  2. Feel free to bring some of your own numbers. So far the one you've brought is the one least applicable to the player you're talking about because of the position he plays. You keep ignoring the numbers I post so I think you're only happy with the numbers you want to look at.
  3. He does exactly 1 of those things well, and it's back to "ripping the ball out of his teammates' hands". I mean ... it's pretty obvious that you're not looking at this objectively. He's among the conference leaders in all three of those things. I think that's doing them pretty weel. If I'm picking and choosing stats, so are you. Offensive rebounds? Forgot those were the only type... And I didn't know top 10 was a leader. There are ~20 players in the B1G who start at the 4-5 that you could fairly compare to Ed. And he's average in that category. If you weren't so wrapped up in your own argument you would see that I included all rebounding as well. You are only able to provide one stat. I provided several. And those were just the ones that he was amongst the B1G leaders. And by almost any realistic measure, Top 10 is a leader. Which "category" are you saying he's average in. He's leading the B1G in offensive rebounding so obviously he's the best at that.
  4. How many times have other players scored off his offensive rebounds, even if he wasn't getting the assist? Our offense isn't good. Doesn't matter who's in there. Was it noticeably different during the stretch when Ed was hurt?

  6. Why are you insisting on picking one stat instead of looking at the entire picture? And I'm not comparing the players. I'm comparing picking one state to decide whether a player is good or not. Carmelo Anthony puts up some ridiculous stats. Career loser. For as much as you all complain about "not winning"... Maybe because it's a message board and this is my opinion on where things are going wrong? I wanted to start a discussion? You can make me a new thread if you want. So we can't compare him to Tom Brady but we can compare him to Carmello Anthony? I guess I'm not sure where your arbitrary line is being drawn. Are you going to answer the question?

  9. Yeah, this is a lot of angst against one of our hardest-working players. For starters, to try to judge him on his assist numbers is to pretend to be totally ignorant of our offensive scheme. We don't run an offense. We just run a series of pick-and-rolls. If you're not the guy with the ball on the pick-and-roll, it's tough to get an assist. And that's before you take into consideration that Miles' offenses have ALWAYS been TERRIBLE at creating assists, going back to his time at Colorado State. We are currently #295 in the country in assists, which might be the first year since Miles has been here that we're actually in the Top 300. So trying to judge our PF/C on his assist numbers is like saying Tom Brady is a terrible QB because of his paltry rushing numbers. Yes, I'm a Morrow fan. That doesn't mean that I think he's an All-American. He's a very limited offensive player. So is Jacobson. So is Jordy, though he at least has some potential. Yet another reason that the "most talent ever" argument is laughable. But as to Morrow, he's a high-energy, highly athletic player. He goes all out and is a beast on the boards. He's currently #8 in the B1G in rebounding, t-14 in FG%, t-12 in blocks per game and leading the conference in offensive rebounds per game. That's not a perfect player but that's bringing quite a bit to the table.
  10. For people who are into that sort of thing, Miles' NCAA appearance was with Doc's players.
  11. Other than the fact he has been given 5 years and has won fewer games than Doc...fire him There has not been any NBA talent on this team for a long time. I have had season tickets and this is the best talent since Nee. And please Doc coached in the Big 12, which had a few good teams. Bringing in talent hasn't been the issue for Miles. He just hasn't been able to develop it and consistently gets outcoached come game time. I think he relied quite heavily on Craig Smith. The difference in talent between the B1G and Big 12 isn't much. The Big 12 has a higher RPI this year. I will agree with this year, but when Doc was coaching there was only 3 good teams: Kansas, Texas & Oklahoma. So .... probably more ranked teams than the B1G has this year?
  12. Gerry among Safeties: 40 - 12th Bench - t-8th Vertical - 19th Broad Jump - t-6th
  13. So if he's got the most talent in 15 years and gets the worst results, what does that mean? Ding ding ding Watson (So), Morrow (So), Roby (Fr). The team is very young this year as others are Jordy (Fr), Jacobson (So), McVeigh (So). It isn't the losses, it's the blowouts as of late that are concerning. To not give Miles a pass - Iowa's top 7/8 scorers are Fr or So. Jok leads the B10 with 20 ppg as the lone Sr As has been pointed out, the youth excuse really does not hold any water. Look anywhere in college basketball and you can tell that. There are at least 7-8 other teams in the B1G that are just as young. Minnesota for example. There leading scorers - in order - are a Jr, Fr, So, So, Sr, Jr, Fr. Not really that different from our Sr, So, So, So, Jr, Fr, Fr
