  1. Yeah, as far as the passing game that's what I mentioned earlier - at least partially. They are filling so hard on run that any play-action really draws them in and keeps them from getting back to their pass zones as quickly as they need to. People have been complaining about our tackling for years. There was much talk last year about how much better it was but I'm not really convinced that it was a lot different and I think we're seeing that this year. But I think a lot of that is just how football is now-a-days. When you don't really hit much in practice, it's hard to all the sudden be a good tackler on Saturday. That being said, I didn't really notice a lot of times where we really put a good hit on a ball-carrier and didn't bring him down. Kind of like you said, there were times that we only got an arm on them but part of that is not being able to be in the right spot to make the tackle. That can be a combination of a lot of thing - being out of position, being slow to react and even trying to make a play that really isn't in your gap but you just can't quite get there in time. I'd have to go back and watch that more closely to have a better idea what the underlying cause was.
  2. It was a Top 10 list that did not include Nebraska. But apparently he changed his mind already....
  3. I think you're going by last year. Indiana is only #80 in the country in rushing this year and #85 in scoring offense. Last year they were #26 and #24. Last year we were #32 in yards per rushing attempt allowed. This year we are #102. Isn't that inflated by the Oregon game mostly? Indiana doesn't have near the speed to stretch the defense that Oregon does. Ohio state is the only other team I think that can this year. Also, aren't Indianas running backs both more brusiers than slashers? Just honest questions Oregon was the worst as far as yards per carry goes at 7.1 but Northwestern (6.6) and Illinois (5.9) were pretty bad as well. Really it would be more accurate to say Fresno State is dragging the average down by being a poor rushing team (poor team in general) and we got several sacks that count against their rushing yards.
  4. Interesting that we just offered two guys listed as Dual Thread QBs.

  9. Where did anyone say this?? In the thread title? Ummmm.....if we are in the top 10 and this is the first poll in the top 10 since the last time we were in the top 10......isn't that technically...."back in the top 10" and not saying it too early? I think you need to hover your mouse over the text of my reply.....
