  1. Hmm,........ I really don't know what to say. In regards to the article........ just... "Yes" I'm really intersted in more 2 back sets, though.
  2. It stung me, too..... I actually jumped up in the air, thinking the Huskers could get out with a win via the blackshirts once again. But at least the special teams held. Still........ there are a lot of things to be upset about. I'm not going to deny that.......
  3. yeah, especially since our pass rush was doing pretty well go blackshirts! they are best when aggressive, I would think, and not playing "safe"
  4. Instant replay, in my opinion, is not a problem at all. But besides that, was the play called a fumble or an incomplete pass on the field? I thought it was called, originally, by the refs, an incomplete pass. Anyhow, instant replay is just like any other factor in the game. I will always be for the truth, anything that shows the truth, and never want to take away from the truth. However, human error is always a factor. From what I heard, both teams got some major breaks at different points in the game. NU got a pass interference call to go their way, when many people were sure it was on the NU receiver instead, even the radio announcers. It was on a third and megalong, if I remember correctly. So, really, everyteam has good or bad days with the refs. Bottom line: No team should EVER allow a game to be too close for a couple of bad calls to change the outcome. And if it that is the case, then the other team has the right to a victory, if you allow it to get that close in the first place. You can't control what refs call, but you can control how much it impacts the game by how well you preform. If NU scored 2 more TDs on offense, that play you speak of would not be remembered at all, I don't think.
  5. EDIT (whoops, I forgot to finish my intro sentance) One thing I, personally, through my own personal ignorance or experience, either way, (and, slightly, from playing football videogames ((which I know is really meaningless))), one thing I wonder about is if we are attacking all parts of the field, consistently. I was going to add "and properly", but, I'll start small. About the WCO - I think it's neccesary to attack on all levels of the field, and not just short to medium range passes on. In regards to 1st down, in particular. Essentially, if you combine that with the running game, then the Defense can just stand still, essentially, and thoug man was used, zones could be effective as well. My point is, (though I didn't get to see the plays, I heard them last night), do you think that BC spreads the field enough? An earnest question. I know we had one deep pass that was over thrown just a little. But really.... regardless of the coverage, I feel it is important to go down field. Even simple go routes and stuff, just to get vertical, instead of too many slants, etc. I think that would help with the run, too, even if we just lob one deep once per drive. Though we did decent with the run this time. But I mean, I think it is integral to make sure the D knows we can throw deep at any time.
  6. I think there's a lot of blame to go around. I'm almost positive that the routes could be more effectivly run. At the same time, I did like the playcalling early in the game. I don't know why that changed, I rreallly wasn't aware of what happened, because I couldn't pay attention in the 3rd quarter to the game. But, that games impression on me was that BC needs to refine a few things if THIS offense THIS year is going to score the many points neccesary to sustain Victories
  7. I guess it's not as impressive as it could be but........ "scoreboard" I guess until we loose, we really can't complain a whole lot, even though we know things are not optimal. 3-0 though, that is optimal...... just not in every way.... Until then, (ah, I finally came up with a signature....) BC needs to perfect his "Drunken Master" style of WCO lol
  8. I didn't exactly get to "see" this, but, from what it sounds like, I think this might be a fair call. I don't think Calahan would let Taylor play if he was the main reason things weren't working. He knows about our 2 and 3 QBs, and I don't think, by any means, that any head coach would be too stubborn to change QBs....... and if BC was even close to that, this ... this........ (fill in the blank) 1 point victory, 7-6, would surely snap him out of such a thing. There have been dropped passes, and I'm wondering about the TEs as well. Matt Herian really won't be back, you think? That would be a big loss.... But I guess it will take time for everything to fall into place. If the kids are too confused, and are thinking too much, though..... (I am reminded of what I heard on the postgame show, I think), if they are thinking too much, then they can't Play Football. The one area where I am reallly unsure of is BC making things too complicated. But maybe they will meet in the middle - BC simplifies his WCO a little, and the kids get more used to it. I don't really know yet. I still think it is too early to tell on some things. But as far as 7-6....... that is an ugly, ugly offenseive performance. BC can't be proud of that. Be proud of the kids, yes. but not proud of how successful he was at doing his job.
  9. I'm more than a little tired of seeing that...... duck........ on tv, myself........
  10. Way to show up in the clutch, Husker fans. It's always good to turn it on when we are in the featured match up 48503 Joe Bruin. I like Joe, though. I hope he has success down the road.
  11. cougar 62337 Votes herbie 54244 Votes These two aren't facing off against each other... but that's impressive for those washington st fans I REALLY hope Herbie wins..... I'm tired of seeing a bunch of crazy mascots do stupid things. But, in the capital one commercial....... why is Herbie surfing, and that bird from Miami splitting wood??? Seems totally wrong...... not even ironic, just..... bad................ Oh well, "sebastian" isn't fairing so well ........ 39857 Votes hmm..........
  12. I was going to point that out too.................. And also........ "Against Wake Forest, the Huskers failed on four straight passing attempts on third downs before Zac Taylor hooked up with Frantz Hardy on third and three in the second quarter." .... I don't like the idea of "if we don't get it by passing on 3rd and short this time, let's try again next time". I always liked running when it was third and short......... at least, half the time........... edit- - but I guess half the problem is getting to third and short.....
  13. What a bunch of football fans.......... I was going to jump in and say something, but I figure I'll just smile for now.
  14. ........a super big screen does sound kinda cool............
  15. I wonder if he is projecting his own impatience of zac taylor....... heh, that is kinda funny........ ..almost.
  16. No matter what, any coach, anyone in the world, would know that coming in, with your predecessor being fired at 9-3, he damn well knows what's expected of him. I don't think Calahan would take the job here at NU it if he enjoyed failing, or getting fired. And no matter what, unless you are going to fire BC yourself, you can say all you want but you might as well talk to a wall. He's our coach. He knows that if he fails, he won't last. Everyone else in the entire nation, not just the Husker Nation, knows that.
  17. I think it is way too early to tell anything Is the Husker D great this year? I don't know yet Is SP a superbad AD? I don't know yet Is Calahan a coach that can get results? I don't know yet It's way too early to say anything, as far as I go. 2 games, 1.2 years, 2 recruiting classes, whatever. There aren't enough facts yet to be conclusive about anything. For an opinion, I think things are ok. Could be better, could be worse. There should be support and optimism, but there should be realism, too. I can't wait for the day when Calahan and SP say "now this was a good game/season/bowl game", because that will be the true definition of their success. If it never happens in Calahans stay at NU, then so be it. No matter what, I'm proud of the kids, like McKeon and Zac Taylor. They have the right attitude about things. And that's a fact
  18. No matter what, I'm looking forward to what Murtha can do. I've been looking forward to having him in action for a long time
  19. Where in New York? PA is like an hour a way, take a weekend trip to the Pocono's and catch the Huskers If I could, I would...
  20. GRRR! I can't believe it. Almost ALL of NY state gets to see Nebraska, but those like myself, on the easternmost section, get to see...... Miami vs. Clemson??????? That's not right. We are not in the south Hmm..... somebody's gonna pay. That's discpicable, though. Miami, in NY? and not Pittsburg.... which a stones from here..... that's just not right.
  21. New Age Exorcisms: Instead of The Power Of Christ compelling a savage helldemon out of Mary, this new-age group of exorcists use The Power Of Music to shake, rattle and roll Mary onto the path of the light. However, results for New Age Exorcisms may vary... (Warning: "after" photos on page 2 contain mild blood and gore...)
  22. Somewhere in NYstate I have lived the longest...hmm... in the Capital Region (Albany, surrounding, etc) Live? I'm looking to find my favorite place to live. Haven't found it yet. I want to visit Nebraska, of course. And travel a little. Maybe I'll do an exchange program in college overseas... Europe/Asia... but then again..... that's a long way from Nebraska... Ideal place to live? Wherever my future wife is. I don't know. Maybe Nebrasaka, I doubt NY.... I guess, currently, I'm unemployed, as I start college in January. But techincally I'm a proffesional student. I'll be getting a part time job in a week or so, unless, of course, more things come up. Best job? Not a whole lotta experience. I never got an allowance, but I used to get paid for getting good grades when I was younger, lol. That was a great job. heh.... Worst job.... uh... A babysitter.... :shudder . Dream job.... Coach at NU (yeahright). Proffesional Photographer of supermodles. Secret Agent, High Government Official, Spy, Adventurer, Knight, Proffesional Nebraska Cornhusker Game Watcher, complete with entourage of beautiful women OR my wife and kids, depending on what stage of life I'm at. Someone like a psychologist that actually helps people. But mostlikely somehting to do with efficiency, I spend most my time thinking about efficiency for some reason..... I don't really know what i like to do in my free time. I'm learning some guitar things, and I like learning stuff, as long as it's pracitcal. I can't deal much with fiction, but I'm into philosohpy, or things i can use. I like being active to a degree - biking, things like that. Are women a hobby? I guess they can be a full time job... but maybe I'll find the right one someday, yeah? I spend most all my time observing people and how they act/interact, etc. Right now, since I'm not in college yet, I spend a lot of time online, honestly. But I'm starting to pull away from that. Though this HuskerBoard seems like a great place so far. Unusual hobbies........ um... I'm reading a book about "wabi sabi" right now... I agree with all of it so far - I guess the book is intended for people who don't really think that way already. Life is pretty dull, yet simple at the moment. I don't have a lot going on, but I don't have alot of expenses either. Staying up as late as I want and not having to do much is sorta nice, but sorta isn't. I'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can, because I know when I go to college, I'm not going to be slacking at all. I guess that's what this time is, my farewell to slacking.
