  1. absolutely not. i would approve of these if they used white instead of black... mainly red with black as an accent just doesnt work at all. we are not texas tech. our colors are scarlet and cream. and then black. not scarlet, cream and black. look at the uniform timeline.... we are getting f---ed like a prom date here folks. this is not our identity. its a blemish on the timeline. go look if you don't believe me. everyone is saying they used michigans as a template.... if thats what they were going to do, follow suit and use our main colors. red uni's, white "N" on the chest and white stripes. since they incorporated black... i still maintain my argument for murdered out and matte helmets. i can't tell if this pukey feeling is the hangover or these atrocious, lazily thrown together alternates. it honestly looks like adidas hired some of the "graphic designers" in this thread.... and i mean that in the worst way possible. now i know why i was getting so irritated as horrible photoshop attempt after another started showing up in here. i still back these... All black are sick. Wonder what the ones looked like that T.O. turned down? i retract the matte helmets... do a metallic black. like these.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8ZYKd83B68
  2. so either all black or no black? all black is more akin to husker tradition? you keep talking about this tradition garbage, but you seem to be the only one who knows what fits the bounds of our tradition and what spits in its face. mostly black or no black. and look at the timeline.... no black. thats all im sayin. i can respect mostly/all black.... are you mad at my opinion? mostly just confused. i'm not saying that all black is more akin to husker tradition necessarily. rather, black as an accent color is not akin to husker traditon. maybe "akin" is the wrong word.... I think "corny" is the word i'm probably looking for.

Mod Edit - don't post pics like that in the regular forums. Post it in the woodshed. - knapplc
  4. I think Helu's ups and downs had more to do with our inconsistent OL than with Roy. I oft asked people that with as hard and as physical as Roy runs, could you imagine him running behind the '94, '95, or even '97 OL? He'd a rushed for probably 2,500 yards and be considered the best RB we've ever had.
  5. this is what im sayin... take out the black piping and you have a classic. red facemask also.
  6. Years down the road? IT'S FOR ONE f'ing GAME! Unwad your panties and calm down.
  7. That will be the new uniform in a year or two I'm sure. This is essentially the new 'cut' of the uniform with a one off coloring. Look for that in the standard scarlet and cream soon.
  8. bottom line... we've never used black in the uniforms. if you're gonna do it, you better do it right. i dont think they did it right.
  9. by that logic, the Husker fans of the future will be clamoring for these new ones, because that's what they did in 2012. right thats why it sucks so bad.... because these dont fit with husker football. all of the other ones do. even the one with denim and striped sleeves.... because husker (bugeater?) football was so young. and the time of when they wore them should add a huge amount of context to them.
  10. all of these look like husker football to me. even the early ones... because thats what it was back then.
  11. i would be comfortable wearing a variation of every one of our uniforms for a hundred years. just keep it current with the style of jersey. they're all nebraska football. i wouldnt be comfortable wearing the new alternate for a hundred years.
  12. at least they didn't mess with the N. no pun intedended. thank god.
  13. What is this uniform timeline business? You do know we wore throwbacks a couple years ago, and before that we had those terrible abominations from the early 2000's. It's not unheard of for major programs with rich tradition to change things up every now and then. i approve every throwback we've ever worn except for these. i even enjoyed the all whites and all reds that we've worn in the past. despite the losses that came with them. im not the "dont mess with the uniforms" guy that i may appear to be.
  14. guy, it is one game. so what? they still mess up our whole entire timeline. i would compare it to not selling out a single game.... its just one game. maybe, but what about a multiverse theory? are you saying we are ruining a streak of wearing the same uniform and we will rue that day in history for the rest of time? its not even a streak of "the same uniform". all the other uniforms we've ever worn look like nebraska football.... these new uni's just arent nebraska football. almost entirely due to the black secondary color. if you're gonna incorporate black, make it the main color. i could respect that. these new ones however, could get lost in the identity of other teams pretty easy. there is such a fine line with the uniforms and i feel it has been crossed. is it one game? yes. but its a time where we should take advantage of bringing something new and refreshing to the table, something we would be comfortable wearing for a hundred years if we weren't already all in for our traditional look. gives me that "ehhhhhh, what are you doing?" feeling. messing around with the identity of husker football has proven to not work. i feel that throwing black in as an accent color is really poking around with the identity. i cant help the way i feel. take the black out and you have a winner. add black as the main color and you have a winner.

  16. and i question how cool "the young kids" and the rest of you actually think these are.... i honestly think everyones got chubbs because they are new and a change. we'll see how you like them years down the road.
  17. horrible cop out.... they shat on our uniform timeline and tradition. and we're supposed to throw that all out the window because its cool with young kids? FOH

  19. i'm not a fan of... "lets throw all the elements about the team into a blender"
