  1. True, maybe I'm biased, but the sellout streak has to count for something. That, and the fact that there really is nothing like walking into Memorial and seeing the "Sea of Red."
  2. Weak rating, IMO. I would put us at the top 3 at least.
  3. this is nebraska football related because it could actually make our recruiting take a hit.
  4. on the virge of becoming a national powerhouse in football? Combining their facility upgrades, (multi hundred million dollar renovation to kyle field, new weight rooms) SEC move that has boosted their recruiting (currently 3rd in the country and starting beat out texas talent hawk OU and even us. They are expanding their recruiting into the south further and having success), and the fact they seem to be a sleeping giant in college football considering their alumni, stadium, school, location, etc. Is this the beginning of Texas A&M coming into their own and contending for conference and national championships?
  5. Agreed. I vividly remember Helu and his ability to take a carry to the house in the blink of an eye (Mizzou). That and his ability to hurdle a defender... It also goes to show you that recruiting rankings aren't always the best predictor of a career. Take a look at the difference in Lucky's rankings compared to that of Helu.
  6. I would hope he has a chance to compete for the starting job. He was about as raw as one could be at the position and stepped up big time against Ohio State. Surely he has the chance to improve at the position.
  7. I completely agree. He seemed to lack the power and explosiveness when it came to running between the tackles.
  8. It seems like us and the Aggies both have more problems than most when it comes to kids qualifying. Their top recruit for 2013, this stud named Derrick Griffin, is already on the outside looking in when it comes to making his grades in time...you would think these kids would be able to make grades after receiving a scholarship offer to a 4 year university...
  9. Wow. There is really no doubt he was an exceptional athlete. Especially his ability to catch the football out of the backfield. I really thought he still would have a chance at having a decent NFL run. Sorry I edited my post with the correct information. I think he shot himself in the foot playing the extra season and getting hurt. He was never the same after that in my opinion. Now that you mention his injury SR year, it makes much more sense now. I totally forgot about that.

  11. Sorry if this topic has been brought up recently. I was just wondering if Marlon caught on anywhere or if he is even doing anything football related these days...He came to Nebraska and most everyone, including me, assumed he would become a star/1st team All-America type. He had a pretty productive career no doubt, just a little underwhelming considering what we thought it would be.
  12. C'mon Man! I agree that I have been worried at times over which direction our recruiting/coaching is going... However, we return experience at QB, one of the best RB's in the conference/nation, and more overall experience across the board... We will win no less than 8 games...I would say 8 games is our basement with 12 being our ceiling...
  13. I say we go undefeated. Natty Championship or bust!
  14. This is a good point. Tommie definitely had a presence that didn't translate perfectly to the stat sheet. Urban was notorious for allowing Tebow to stay in and pad his stats. Had Osborne done the same for Frazier we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Listen, I dont want to go round and round on this like I am some sorta FL Gator fan or something, but this is just wrong. TF didnt come out as early and as often as folk stories would have you believe. He had 6266 total yards and 83 TD's for his career. Tebow had 4181 & 55 TD's in ONE season. He had 12,232 yards total for his career. Even if Frazier didnt play a 4th quarter his entire career (which he played plenty) he would still not have anywhere near the numbers of others. Even if you said he would add 25% to those numbers, which would be HUGE, he would still only have 7832 career yards. Sorry, the facts are simply not on your side. Attempts for Frazier: Passing: 509 Rushing: 386 Attempts for Tebow: Passing: 985 Rushing: 692 I see no difference.
  15. I have a couple buddies that go to TCU and they are all amped up about Green's transfer. I actually think they have good reason to be excited. As previously stated in this thread, the Big 12 is one of the more favorable conferences for a RB like Aaron Green. Best of luck to the kid. He just wasn't able to make an early impact here.
  16. Ahh my mistake, I misread something on the interwebzz a while back about Tommie being the only mvp of that game. Stupid on my part. Still doesn't take away from him winning 3 consecutive NC mvp's though...who else can say they accomplished that?? Not Timmy...
  17. 3 consecutive NC MVP's basically sums it up...especially considering one of those three came in a losing effort...Man if we would have won that frickin game... A completely blown fumble call on one of FSU's "touchdowns," a very questionable late personal foul and a missed kick on our part. One of the most gut-wrenching games I've ever watched. It seems we've experienced a lot of that over the years.... :/

  19. I am no fan of Tebow. However just to play your game... Frazier Record as a starter: 33-3 National Championships: 2 Big 8 Conference Championships: 4 National Championship Game MVP awards: 3 (3 straight years) 1995 Heisman runner-up 1995 Golden Arm Award Career Rushing Yards: 2,263 Career Rushing Atts: 386 Career Rushing TDs: 36 Career Passing Yards: 4003 Career Completion % - 49.3% Career Passing TDs: 47 Career Passing INTs: 18 Avg. 174 yrds a game & 2.3 scores Tebow Record as a starter: 35-6 Played in 55 games National Championships: 2 SEC Conference Championships: 2 National Championship Game MVP awards: 1 2007 Heisman winner 2008 & 2009 Heisman finalist (3rd & 5th) 2007 AA Team, AP player of the year 2007 Davey O'Brien, 2007 Maxwell, 2008 Manning & Maxwell Career Rushing Yards: 2,947 Career Rushing Atts: 692 Career Rushing TDs: 57 Career Passing Yards: 9285 Career Completion % - 66.4% Career Passing TDs: 88 Career Passing INTs: 16 Avg. 224.4 yrds a game & 2.6 scores for career (278.2 yrds a 3.2 scores as a starter) If you take your blinders off, Tebow is much more impresive for what he did. (nearly 2x as many yards and td's) TF qb'd great teams. He was a good leader and was just what NE needed. He sometimes was the guy to carry NE, but mostly just made sure he got the ball to others. You cant measure leadership. You cant quantify that TF meant more to NE than what TT did to Florida. Its just not possible. Alot of times things like this come down to stats. And frankly TF's stats are fairly pedestrian for a high caliber player with that many starts Except for the part that he ran the ball like 20 times a game, threw 5 yard dump passes to Percy harvin that went for 30, played almost the entirety of most of his games, never went undefeated and has only 1 title (if backups count, we have a bunch that have 3 rings). BINGO! I totally disagree with the notion Tebow was more impressive than Frazier. It's hard to accumulate stats when your team is winning 40-0 by halftime...
  20. I just feel like spending the time to explain why you're giving up on the Huskers and finding a new team is a waste of time. If you want to leave, just leave. Nobody really cares...People aren't going to beg you to stay on our side...
  21. @corncraze-any a&m store or website would have it. the problem is finding one non-aggie related.

  22. I grew up in Austin and UT isn't necessarily all that great of a school, but it is hard to get into. I applied to UT just for the hell of it (I wouldn't of gone there either way) and didn't get in with a 1330/1600 on the SAT. Reason being, most kids in Texas want to go to school at UT so Texas uses that as leverage and only accepts "the best..." My point is that the academics at Texas aren't bad, but not far superior to schools like Nebraska.
