  1. Well, I tend to believe the many others who now have come out and said they are still considering Nebraska. For the life of me, I can not understand media people who think it's in their best interest pertaining to their career to jump out and state stuff like this that they know isn't confirmed or true.
  2. I just don't understand fans who are always upset or not happy or can't find something to be excited about when change is made. What is the fun in that?
  3. I don't think that anyone is saying that Bo did an incredible job, there are some who rightfully question whether the new guy is actually an improvement over Bo. His record states otherwise. Why get all frustrated and pissy about it now before he has even completed his staff, coached a game or even coached a practice?
  4. Sean Callahan ‏@Sean_Callahan 4m 4 minutes ago Kelly Donohoe also tells @HuskerOnline that @Coach_Riley will still be visiting the Davis twins on Wednesday. #Huskers
  5. There isn't one coach anywhere in the county that there hasn't been a player here and there that thought they should be playing over the guy in front of them. It's an opinion. It's the coach's opinion on who they think should be playing. You might disagree with that opinion. But, that's why he is coaching and you aren't.
  6. Sooo....won't even allow our coaches time to sit down with them and meet them. Great.
  7. Cotton & Pelini on the O Line this year. Zaire Anderson #2 on the depth chart. Eric Martin struggling to get reps. These are just off the top of my head, but there are more. Players with greater ability have sat behind players who "get it" or have family ties, to the detriment of the team. Per fans who have no experience with these players in practice and know what exactly a player can and can't do.
  8. Great.... Josh Harvey retweeted Sam McDowell ‏@SamMcDowell11 15m15 minutes ago Carlos Davis says he and Khalil have an official visit to Missouri scheduled for January. Oregon, TCU, NC State also in the picture. 0 replies12 retweets4 favorites Reply Retweet12 Favorite4
  9. The problem was that T.O. never hesitated to pull a guy when he wasn't performing. Come on, the greatest QB in the history of college football was pulled in the second quarter of the national championship game. T.O. never got into that mentality that you have to stick with your starters. He kept plugging in players until something fit. THAT is what has spoiled us. We have seen that a team works infinitely better when players are being replaced when they don't perform. Sorry that the 3 predecessors never understood this seemingly-easy concept. Ummm.....that was a decision that was made before the game ever started. TF was going to start and BB would play in the second quarter. They would then make the decision who was the hot hand and go with it. That never would have happened if TF didn't have his health problems and BB hadn't played well enough to get us to the championship game.
  10. Sooooo.....just for clarification. Solich was heavily criticized for not playing the best players. He had his favorites and mismanaged the roster because there were better players on the bench. Callahan was heavily criticized for having his favorite players and starting them over players that fans KNEW were better that were sitting on the bench. Bo was heavily criticized for having his favorite players and obviously some players were in "the dog house" with him so that's why those "better" players were sitting on the bench. Hmmmmm.....see a trend here? Maybe the trend is that fans THINK they know who the better player is and they really don't.
  11. What??? You don't think it's in the best interest of the state of Nebraska to have our State Patrol officers patrolling the many miles of gravel roads that have soooooo much traffic on them?
  12. Am i the only one who didn't believe starters never were challenged and threatened to lose their job? We had new starters all the time at various positions. In another thread, a poster posted that he believes players were too up tight in practice because they believed every day they were being evaluated to see who the starter was going to be. He believed the players then got to the game and let down because they were pushed too hard in practice to prove they deserved to be the starter that week. It's always interesting to see the difference in perception from various fans.
  13. Then give me a warning on being slightly over the speed limit and don't fill me with a line of BS. What would have been funny is if he gave you a field sobriety test on the loose gravel just to watch you fail. Actually, by that point, I would have found that funny too. You know how after something like this, you always think of the good thing to say when it's too late? The next morning I was thinking about the entire thing. What I should have said is...."Officer, in an attempt to be as safe as possible and abide by the law, obviously, I was wrong driving down the middle of the road. So, I have to ask, why were you driving down the middle of the road when you were behind me pulling me over?" OOOoooooo......that question would have sent my wife through the roof.
  14. Then give me a warning on being slightly over the speed limit and don't fill me with a line of BS.
  15. Who would have thought that for over 35 years of driving up and down these roads, I have been doing it wrong all this time.
  16. That's what I thought too. So...I'm trying to spread the word that everyone in the state has been doing it wrong all these years. Hopefully I can motivate more people to abide by the law and be much more safe and do it correctly.
  17. Saturday night something happened and I finally thought I should do my neighborly duty to help out my fellow Nebraskans that drive on gravel roads. My wife, kids and I went Christmas shopping Saturday and we got home around 10:30-11:00. We had a wonderful day together. Everyone was asleep in the car when I turned down the four miles of gravel road that is the last leg to get home. Around two miles off the highway, I look in my rear view mirror to be shocked at what I saw. It wasn't Santa and 8 tiny reindeer. It was police lights on top of a State Patrol car pulling me over. I looked at my speedometer and I may have been going maybe 52-53 in what I know should be 50 mph. But....surely he isn't pulling me over for just going 2-3 mph over the limit. So, I slowed to a stop and waited for the officer to approach. He approached my car very professionally like I have always had done in this fine state. He kindly asked where I was going and where I was coming from. Meanwhile, I'm baffled why he pulled me over. Finally, he explains..."well, I pulled you over because you were driving down the middle of the road"......I had to have had a baffled look on my face at this point. He asked why I was driving down the middle of the road. I was trying to figure out how I was going to answer this when I was looking at the road. The ruts in the road where EVERYONE had driven were....ding ding ding....in the middle of the road. So, I said...."because that's where everyone drives?" Well, that sort of irritated him because he asked me what the law is. So, I explained that the law is to drive on the right side of the road unless conditions are unsafe to do so. Well, that must have been the wrong answer. He took my information and as usual spent a wonderfully long time in his car making sure my car isn't stolen or that I have any warrants out for my arrest. When he approached the car again, he was nice enough to explain that he was giving me a warning for driving down the middle of the road. At this point, I simply said that I need clarification on something so that I can be a law abiding citizen. I asked him to look at the road in my head lights. I asked him to see the ruts in the gravel where everyone else had driven and where it is nice and safe and hard. Then I asked him to look at the right side of the road where there were piles of loose gravel and where the large pile of gravel is that the county maintainer had left. I asked him to verify that I am supposed to drive in the loose gravel and on the pile of gravel the maintainer left and that he feels this is the safest thing to do. At this point, this must have been a stupid question because by now both the officer and my wife are very frustrated at me for even questioning the wisdom of this fine gentleman. So, after he explained that is the law and if I continue driving down the center of the road that he will pull me over again, I simply thanked him for a giving me a warning and for his service and continued driving home.....on the right side....with the loose gravel pulling my car all over the place. Of coarse, only after the officer left did my kids explain (laughing their hearts out in the back seat) that according to their recently taken driver's ed class, I was doing it correctly. Thanks for the support kids when I needed it. So, to everyone who drives down gravel roads in Nebraska. Please remember that according to the State Patrol of the fine state of Nebraska, NO MATTER WHAT, you are to drive down the right side of the road and you are not allowed to cross that center line in the road. You know....the one that is very clearly marked. And...of coarse, we are all very glad that the fine officers of the State Patrol feel that they are being the most productive they possibly can be by patrolling gravel roads that very very few people drive down. I hope this helps others to be safe this fine holiday season. Good day!!!!
  18. I am firmly convinced that there are only two camps in Husker Nation. 1. People who like being optimistic and see good things happening. 2. People who will always find negativity in everything related to Husker Football. It makes no difference who the coach is.
  19. And what about that has anything to do with being next years starter? I think we've seen what Tommy has to offer....hard north and south runner can't move laterally....locks on to one receiver and an average passer at best. And so you can say Stanton will be the starter based on what? He hasn't played. Based on how bad Tommy looked at times there's no way Stanton couldn't be better........Between the interceptions, fumbles, locking onto receivers, and flat out looking like a cry baby out there For god sakes Tommy went whole halves without completing passes So, let me get this straight. We have had a staff that everyone agrees couldn't develop a QB. We now have an HC that is known for developing QBs and all our QBs are going to improve but TA isn't. Got it.
  20. Ahhhh. My phone showed the tweet strange. It didn't look like it was from him. That's a very oddly worded tweet from a dad.
  21. @whoismikerose did not send the tweet.
