  1. Disagree. It goes directly to the "core values" that our esteemed former head coach believes in
  2. Yes. Replace "Gay" with "Black" and you'll see similarities in his comments to those of racist pro-segregation folks from 60+ years ago. Ironic that it is now a black man trying to discriminate. Frankly, it's well past time for reasonable folks to call these things like they are. You can believe that being gay is a sin against the Christian god. But if you try to legislate against them, it makes you a bigot and a homophobe. No. Ignorance and evil aren't the same thing. One is conscious and meditated, the other is learned subconscious prejudice that people generally don't have a ton of control over. You don't pick your parents, or where you're born, for example. Not saying that Coach Brown is in the right here, I disagree with his stance, but hitting your wife and consuming hard drugs are different types of things than having a political opinion that you've been taught is right. That's kind of my point entirety. 60 years ago people were taught that blacks were inferior and that's what they believed to be right. So we should tolerate that ignorance because it is what they believe?
  3. Or moved since it has nothing to do with Husker football. Sometimes football and politics intersect. Especially when coaches insert themselves into political debates using their coaching credentials as to support their stance.

  5. Agreed there. Anyone taking Winston in the first round is insane. That dude is a Ryan Leaf type head case.
  6. That is quite the jump. Not really. Everyone at the combine knows that they are going to be tested. Standard procedure. And he couldn't even manage to stay off the weed until after the combine. That's a clear lack of motivation. Couple that with the fact that when you watch him play, he doesn't always seem to be playing hard... Do you think AFTER he gets a multi-million dollar contract this is going to improve?
  7. Fairly certain Bo wasn't involved with the domestic abuse. This. He may be a poor judge of character, but let's not attribute all of these characteristics to Bo. Well, I'm not trying to pin these attributes to Bo himself. Just saying he really hired some gems. That being said, lets see who Bo has kept around with him over the years and rehired at YSU: Carl the coke head and philanderer and Ron the homophobe. So maybe those aren't Bo's attributes, but he seems to be ok with them.
  8. Randy Gregory = Vernon Gholston. Freakish athlete who takes plays off and lacks motivation. This positive test helps prove that point. He'll still be drafted highly, but someone is going to regret it.
  9. #CoreValues Carl the coke head and philanderer. Marvin the philanderer, etc. Ron the homophobe. Kaz the wife beater. Quite the collection. I won't get into it to much, but it isn't correct to call Ron Brown a homophobe. Disagreeing with something doesn't automatically equal fear and hate. This is true. But Ron Brown's statements make him homophobic. They just do.

  11. Wow, Bo really hired some winners on that staff, didn't he.
  12. Lest we forget that being charged and being convicted are two different things.
  13. A teacher in Omaha told me that they were not allowed to say "Merry Christmas" to students, even to reply to a student who wished her a Merry Christmas Anecdotal evidence. People have been known to embellish.
  14. Then perhaps Christians should remember the true reason for the season and save Merry Christmas for Jesus' birthday, and not the awesome amalgam of Viking, Druid, and Roman holiday celebrations and symbolism that was co-opted for modern day "Christmas"? You have yourself a Merry Christmas Victor. Tough cookies if you prefer "holiday season", I say Merry Christmas because I don't really care about Hannakah, Kwanza, or any other mid to late December happenings. And it's a frigging Christmas tree too. Not having any of this holiday tree/bush crap. Deal with it. I have a holiday tree and send out holiday cards. Deal with it Touche. That doesn't bother me. I just don't like being told that Merry Christmas isn't politically correct. If I want to convey Merry Christmas to somebody, that's what I'm gonna do. If you prefer to say happy holidays or call your tree some f'd up name like "holiday tree" that's your business ;-) In all seriousness, I think the backlash is coming from people like Fox News, who are out to make some sort of war on Christmas into a news story. It's good for business. No one is telling you not to say Merry Christmas (or if they are, they are a very small minority). What is happening, is businesses and public sector agencies are trying to be inclusive and are using the phrase happy holidays to hit all the season's participants. This pisses off Fox News, because JESUS AND 'MURICA, so they are making something up about people being forced to say happy holidays. But that just isn't the case. People are choosing to say Happy Holidays and they want people to be forced to say Merry Christmas. I knew it was a Fox News conspiracy. It really is.

  17. Dirty atheists Dirty atheists I'm far less offended by the phrase Merry Christmas than my father is when someone tells him Happy Holidays. That I can assure you.
  18. Where can we go to discuss bridges? I saw above a mention of bridges and I am all about that discussion. Madison County, IA Where can we go to discuss Nazi's? Probably also Madison County, IA
  19. That is an awful lot of speculation. I'm sorry you never got to say goodbye to Bo. Must be hard to live without the closure.
  20. teachercd is to Tim Miles what NUPolo8 was to Bo Pelini.

It's just sad to see how quick they turn on a guy. Even as good a dude as Miles. I could see people turning on Bo. Bo was an a-hole. Miles is about as honest, real, down to earth as a coach can get and the minute the ball stops going through the hoop, BAM they sh#t on the guy.

I k ow it will en the same with Riley. There will be people that won't even allow a full season or two to grasp what we are even trying to do. Nope, that first blowout loss it will be "didn't we fire Bo so this would end!?". Blah, blah....

You hush up. The blowout losses are over.

  21. That's also why unabated capitalism doesn't work and we don't live a completely capitalistic society. Thank god.
  22. And it prevents companies from holding traffic hostage (see Netflix and Verizon) and requires them to make with necessary updates and expansion (see Verizon again, who is posting profits at the expense of infrastructure updates). Now, if they would take the next step and force FttP for everyone, and get the nation off of damn copper pairs. Investing in infrastructure has never been this country's strong point.
