  1. Alot of teams could have stopped our ground game tonite because we didnt have a ground game tonite. None whatsoever. Not sure if you know it, but? Wisconsin is not that good......So what and why are you saying such stupid stuff like that?.. We started out throwing the ball, and we never quit throwing the ball. Beck got into his famous panic mood, and never quit panicing.... Beck never committed to the run. Our running plays were mostly quarterback scrambles And thats because his offense is mostly finesse. Beck's first priority is to pass block. His offense relys more on pass blocking than it does run blocking. And thats because his offense depends mostly on Taylor Martinez.. Taylor Martinez is the feature of this tuff Beck's lightweight offense.. Because its mostly built for Taylor. Beck has chosen to do it his way,. He continues to waste our backs, and power, by featureing a 170 lb. qb.... This is part of the reason why the other team scored 70. Did you watch Alabama tonite? Alabama took it to Georgia by depleteing Georgia's defense, on a night where Alabama's defense was a poreous as I have seen. But yet they still won the game, with there rugged brutal running game, useing play action passes. They had over 400 yards rushing, which kept the ball away from Georgia.
  2. Beck runs a finesse offense with its bread and butter based on the power toss sweep? What world are you living in? How many power sweeps did we run tonite?? and how many times did Taylor line up in the spread offense? and how many times did the Bugs Bunny Taylor run the ball? I bet he lined up in the spread offense a helluva lot more than he did in the I formation.. it depends on how often you line up in a power formation or a finesse formation, and actually run given plays...What planet were you watching from or what were you smoking to think Beck is into power football? I am sick of finesse, and I am sick of the other team's defense always staying fresh.. Beck never takes the defense's legs or will away.. To Beck?... Its just like basketball. whoever scores the most, wins.
  3. I totally agree with you Dude!! Paul Rhoads.... or? I wish we could get Jim Harbough from SF 49rs..
  4. I don't get the angst for Beck. How is it his fault when he's averaging 34 ppg in our losses and our defense has given up 63+ twice. That is on the defense and is all on Bo since he runs that side of the ball and is a supposed defensive "genius." Beck is a joke. Big deal about his offense scoreing lots of points against nobodies... The problem is its all finesse.. His refusal to take anything from the defense, is part of the problem.. The defense will always be fresh, and thats because he has built most of his offense around a rabbit.. He wastes the weight room, the power, and speed of Nebraska by running a fad called the spread offense...Its a freakinng joke!! Him and Bo chose to ignore Tom, and this is what happens
  5. Oh great, it's you again.... If you and your band of derpers take the board over, I won't be here for much longer. Well if you think things are fine and dandy with Nebraska, maybe you should open your eyes,. The Iowa game alone should have clued you in. But go ahead and stick your head in the sand, and pretend all is well with this Ohio bunch....Because its not. There are major isssues going on with Nebraska, and none of you see it, because The Big 10 as a whole stinks..
  6. These Ohio guys went out and did it their way,,,,, they chose to ignore Tom Osborne, by being a spread team.... This is deserving of them.
  7. Yes Tim Beck's one man Taylor tuff offense has proven to me, that it cannot, or will not ever inflict any damage or dings on the defense., and why? Its because we are tissue tough.... We are finesse. To much offense has been built around Taylor Martinez, and it shows with fumbles, and sacks ......This will always be as long as Beck and Bo are at Nebraska... these Ohio guys continue to waste every resource at Nebraska.... Whats funny is, You would think a fella would at least try to play keep away, even if we dont have a defense..... But? I got to admitt? I was almost doubting myself, but my doubt quickly left me.. After the first quarter..... lol 42 to 10 at halftime? Are you kidding me?? embarrassing to say the least Look what Alabama did against Georgia? They took there time and pounded them the way Tom Osborne pounded teams when he was coaching Nebraska..
  8. It is, almost impossible to read, your posts because, you have no clue what the, purpose of a comma, is, Thanks and, Amen
  9. You are just like me,,,,,, to used to Tom Osbornes power... I guess for us, it would be better if we could develop amnesia or something. Because the way it appears that most of people love this FINNESSE stuff. Because these same fans, are telling me, that is not the way football is played anymore, and it hasnt been played like that for at least a decade... Which would explain, why we havent won shyolla either, in a decade.. There's nothing wrong with being multiple. it's very stressful on a defense. I do have a gripe with the playcalling inside the 5. it's one thing if its 3rd and goal from the 4, but this was first and goal from the 4. The combo of Marrow and Cross can gain 2 yards a play by falling down. Our offense is very effective and no where close to being an issue between the 10's. I just thing Beck tries getting to cute inside the 10's. Lastly, dont start with the Osborne stuff again. It's been beaten to death. We know your point. You know everyone else's. I didnt reply to this, knowing that you are going to follow me... And? weight is, and always will be more stressful on light weight defenses that are built to stop spread offenses. Because I was just telling him,, to develop amnesia, because the days of scoring mostly touchdowns, once inside, the 10 are over..

  11. Another win...More Derp from the newest Troll on the board. If you're going to stick around, can you get spell check? Does my spelling bother u that much Mrs. Dewey? u no what?.. I dont care....lol
  12. Well you can certainly say that Michigan had a helluva lot better chance with Dennard, than without him.. .... Bellomy only completed 2 passes... And the strategy on defense completely changed......we were able to blitz him. Nebraska may have won, with Dennard in there but to say we would have won for sure, is total BS. Because Dennard is a helluva lot better than that guy that replaced him.. And? This Nebraska team has tons of miles to go to be even considered to be at Alabama's level. If you ask me? The ground between Alabama, is wideing at an alarming rate... Um, who said anything about be as good as Alabama?? We have along ways to go for anything like that amigo, and if that is what you're waiting for, you will be waiting for years. So try to enjoy what we have right now. I said it in the article u replied to, and you are right Pablo, we have a long ways to go. but after 5 years, I think we should be able to expect more...... Dont you?
  13. And we are no where near being back to join the elites of college football,,,,,because we got lost in some Ohio neighborhood.... ,We got thousands of miles to go.

  15. Measureing stick......... Michigan got throttled by Alabama, That Michigan team also had a healthy Dennard, and it was at a nuetral site............. Not sure how you can really compare it, but? Basically Nebraska played against Michigans second team, in the second half... While many may consider this a worthy win... I dont.... The Reason? imagine if we had a studded d-fense all the time., that was able to shut teams down, like we did with Michigan tonite..(asterik no Dennard) We still stink offensively, how can anyone argue this? Big deal about being ranked 6th in rushing.. Those yards all came against dud teams.(I am tired of mentioning this). Our offense is not good!! Because? We are weak. Nebraska has absolutely no power game with these guys from Ohio.. This very same thing is happening to Oklahoma,(and where are those guys from?) Because they are geared the same way as we are. I still think we are lucky to win this game.... It could have been very easily the other way. All this game told me was, We got miles to go yet..
  16. Urban Meyer lost to us, only because he lost Braxton Miller...... Otherwise, it may have been slightly less bad, as it was this year...
  17. Do you remember when Bill Callahan, and Nebraska played USC in Lincoln? That team (Neb) was perhaps the softest team that ever played . It showed too. USC ran through our line,(D line) and it looked like we were this years Colorado team....... Later on it was discovered that Bill's practices were never physical, because he removed that aspect of the game from practice. Dave Remington asked Bill why he did this..... I think he said, he didnt want to risk losing players in practice. He compared it to a professional team's roster. (This came from a guy that elliminated the walk on program) And thats why Nebraska was so physical during Osbornes years. Because they could be, because the walk ons were always there...
  18. Are you saying we should practice full contact, full speed all the time? To toughen ourselves up? NO, not at all, You could never practice full speed with full contact all week.... Your goal is to keep both sides tempered.(offense and defense) Tuesdays and Wednesdays would be the best time.. then taper off as the game draws near.. Teams that do this, dont feel the little dings that happen during the game, because their bodies are more used to it... You could never do it full time, because you would burn them out before games...
  19. catch him if you can. Dennard can be electrifying...but he hasn't shown much against solid competition... Taylor falls in the same category as Dennard... He is electrifying too, but its always against poor competition.
  20. I agree with the statement you made about Tim Beck. We have a lot of threats on offense and they aren't used as often as they should be, but the term you play like you practice is overrated. Most colleges (I assume UNL to be one of them) don't tackle to the ground when they scrimmage to prevent injuries. That means the offensive players don't receive the contact they do during a game and the defensive players don't get offensive players that try to break tackles. Thats exactly the entire point, And in my mind why we look soft on both sides of the ball.
  21. that term is not over-rated.... The mistakes they had last week were mostly mental. But? alot of fumbles that happened previously were by Taylor Martinez. And in Martinez's defense. There would be no way you could have a real physical practice with him...... Lose him, and who steps up to the plate after him? There is no one behind him that is as good. And thats part of the problem with this offense.. Tim Beck has got to get more people involved.by haveing some type of power run game.
  22. Yes I am cherry picking, and specifically there, and thats why I did. Because? in those earlier years, we didnt have a great defense, we never had the defense to allow our the physical side of our offense to lean on M's, FSU defense.. It was always 3 and punt, for our offense, when we played Miami or FSU... Which meant there was not alot of time for Miami's or FSU's defense to feel the total weight of Nebraska's offense.. Because The physical side of Nebraska's offense never changed much from the early 80s to the mid 90s. The biggest thing that changed was the defense.. Because it flipped the whole thing on its side.... Instead of our defense getting wore out, It was their defense that had to stand in there, and to take it. (the physical side of Nebraska's offense) Today? N's defense can always hang in there, for a few drives. But yet? To me, it just looks like Nebraska's D wears down. This is the area, why I think our offense fails, because its does not inflict or lacks the ability to inflict fatigue, or bruiseings to the opposing defense. Last week It did however wear out Northwestern's defense. This will not always be the case for Nebraska's offense....Because how many teams do we face, are as little as Northwestern?..
  23. That is why I said, We are wasteing the resources of Nebraska. Why have a weight program, why have walk ons, if we are going to run this finesse spread offense.. Because we dont use none of the benefits of those things, in the spread offense? Its all trickery to get players in open space.. Well I dont necessarily agree with you, Mr Accountablitily on other universities catching up to our strength program. I mean sure there are lots of places that may have better strength and conditioning venues... But ultimately it comes down to the individual.... and thats precisely the difference. Not every great athlete could play for Tom Osborne... Because it all boils down to heart and work ethic. Lots of great athletes just dont have it inside..... But alot of guys that played for Tom, had that navy seal mentality. I read lots of articles and quotes of what the Miami, FSU and Florida players said after the game was over........ In fact I still have these papers? i should post them. But it was really neat to read it, and just the respect that was given to Nebraska made it all worth while. It made me proud of the University of Nebraska... Because these guys had a difinite change of opinion after the game was over....

  25. I dont think I said it was simple smashmouth football, if I did? I apologize to say that.. I never ever looked it as being simple. I seen it as whole process that began in the 1st quarter and continued until the 4th quarter..... I said his offense was constantly attacking the legs of defenses.. Once the legs were gone?, the next thing to come was bruiseing, then the defenders minds were next to go.. . Who likes getting beat up?.. Which was the point I was trying to make. you are right, about smashmouth linemen..That is the entire point I am getting at,.... and Thats because Tom used them like bulldozers, when he had too. Nebraska has always had some great lineman, but? in this offense, how do we know if we even have smashmouth linemen in it? They are not highlighted, but wasted.. There will be no one on this line that will win any award.... its not because they are not good, its because they are being deprived to use there abilities by Beck's offense... thats just how I see it..
