  1. Every time we lose? Yeah this is just another loss. 70 points given up to an unranked Wisc team that struggled to get more than 25 points per game this year again weak Big 10 conf play. But I guess we should just get used to mediocrity if we keep the current staff unchanged.
  2. Just trying to figure out what Papuchis and Bo will say. "Who knew Wisconsin had a jet sweep in their playbook? We didn't get game film on that, so it's not our fault we couldn't defend it". How about "once we get a few more recruiting classes in place, we'll be able to defend new Big 10 schemes like the Wisconsin (trademark) jet sweep. Barney: "They only lined up two D-linemen on the line on third down. I've never seen that in my life. It's a new invention. Maybe someday my children's children will learn how to block it"
  3. Neither can I. Unfortunately you are exactly correct--year 5 of the Pelini Project and this is what we do on national TV against an unranked team?? And don't try telling me about Osborne and patience, Osborne wasn't getting the wheels blown off his team by mediocre Iowa State or Kansas squads. I don't recall Osborne taking on a 7-5 team and losing by more than 10 points or so. Yeah you can fire Ross Els, but does anyone think Ross Els is the reason we suffered the worst loss in our history tonight??
  4. Oh, really? Which loss was worse? And was that loss to an unranked team that had lost 5 games?
  5. Agree with you--he can't be a Steve Pederson and just fire Bo for the sake of firing the HC. On the other hand, if he can get some serious interest from a top name--Chris Petersen, Jim Tressel, etc--then hope he has the gumption to do it, first year AD or not.
  6. Agree with you completely. I'm sick of the "nobody would want to come here now" argument. Look at Alabama before they got Saban--they were also a once-proud, once-dominant program that had gone through several mediocre coaches. Then they hired Saban and the rest is history. LSU was a middling mediocre program until they hired Saban, and away then went. NU still has the name recognition to be destination job for a top coach--but he WILL require A LOT of money to come here.
  7. Beck runs a finesse offense with its bread and butter based on the power toss sweep? What world are you living in? How many power sweeps did we run tonite?? and how many times did Taylor line up in the spread offense? and how many times did the Bugs Bunny Taylor run the ball? I bet he lined up in the spread offense a helluva lot more than he did in the I formation.. it depends on how often you line up in a power formation or a finesse formation, and actually run given plays...What planet were you watching from or what were you smoking to think Beck is into power football? I am sick of finesse, and I am sick of the other team's defense always staying fresh.. Beck never takes the defense's legs or will away.. To Beck?... Its just like basketball. whoever scores the most, wins. Beck runs some power, but I agree his offense is mostly finesse--it's 70% Oregon offense, 30% Wisconsin, with neither of the effectiveness
  8. So would I. No disagreement there whatsoever. Does he come here? That's the question at hand here sir. Who actually accepts an offer after we fire a coach that hasnt won less than 9 wins in 5 years? That's why Urban meyer probably laughed in Steve Pedersens face after Solich was fired, and Solich being fired was probably a lot more logical than firing Bo at this point. accountability, I don't know the answer to that. I doubt it's as clear-cut as you make it out--that firing a 9-win coach makes us blacklisted among all potential coaches. Who would have though LSU would have lost Saban to Bama? Who would have thought Urban Meyer would have ducked out of the UF gig due to "medical problems", only to come back two years later to take over OSU? Money changes a lot of things--both are being paid royally and were signed to historically high pay with their contracts. We could get Petersen--not a guarantee, but it's not a ridiculous proposition. Depends on what Eichorst wants to do there.
  9. Now that Eichorst takes over from Osborne, will he have the cajones to use his power to force needed coaching changes? Or is he gonna hide behind his "I'm just the new guy" thing and let Bo continue to try to persuade us that "everything is fine". This will be a test--this football program is at a crossroads. We've made improvements from the joke that Callahan made us, but the improvements have been modest and we've just suffered the worst loss in our history, in the same game that we were supposed come out on national TV and stake our claim to the NC next year. Ball is in your court now Eichorst. If we made a good hire with him, then I would expect he should have a VERY stern meeting with Bo about what he's gonna do to change things.
  10. Who to get, accountability? I would take Chris Petersen in a heartbeat. Heartbeat.
  11. I'm sorry, but this isn't just a bad game. This is the worst f*cking loss in the history of NU football. We've been completely embarrassed twice this season: once by a good team, once by a 5-loss team that struggled to get to 7 wins. If this doesn't lead to coaching changes, then Bo will be the one being changed if we see another year of this garbage. This program and fan base deserves better than delusions from Bo. Hopefully our new AD will see the need for changes. Change coaches then. fine. fire 1 of the only 4 coaches in the history of college football to win 9+ games in his first 5 seasons. Fine. I'll roll with it. One logical question. Who do you get? That's all i want to know. No John Gruden BS or this man or that. Who do you want? Ok, get a new staff. Who do you want here as a DC. Did you want Mike Stoops this time last year? OU's defense = (sarcastically of course) Who do we get? What is your line in the sand?? You're happy with 9 win seasons, even if we're humiliated belong historical belief regularly? Is a 9 win season OK if one of the losses is a stomping by unranked Wisconsin? If your'e ok with that, what about a blowout loss to a school with a losing record? Or how about a blowout loss to an FCS school? 9 wins is a number man.
  12. Good question for the Mod--he not just locked, but deleted two threads I posted criticizing Papuchis and Martinez. Neither had profanity, but apparently weren't rose-colored glasses good enough

  14. Yes this is the worst Husker loss in several lifetimes and possibly EVER. But at least Texas is losing. So that makes everything better, right?
  15. I'm surprised this thread hasn't been deleted by the Mod yet. Anyway, it's time for Cotton to go, and Papuchis should be either fired or demoted to position coach. Bo needs to either take over primary D-coordinator duties himself and just let Beck do everything with the offense, or go hire a outside guy for D-coordinator.
  16. Apparently whoever is mod'ing this board is just deleting any post that shows the slightest frustration with this despicable performance. So toe the line, and just talk about how AWESOME tonight is!
  17. Where to start!!!? 1. Poor, poor, poor angles of pursuit by our safeties, and less so by our LBs 2. We are so concerned with stopping the run up the middle, that we've been letting them run to the corner basically unabated all night 3. D is already warn out and looks like they want to get on the bus...and it's just HALFTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. Sick of Papuchis' stupid, constant confused jumping around of players with their silly signals. It hasn't done a LICK of good. Do any of these silly signals communicate the need to not let Wisc run to the sideline unabated??
  18. Still think limiting turnovers is the biggest key--if Martinez can avoid giving the Badgers free gifts on pick-sixes or fumbles, ditto for Ameer and special teams, then it's more time for our offense to pound away at Wisconsin. We saw in the first matchup that even though Wisc has an aggressive knowledgeable defense, they're not terribly athletic or big and got pretty gassed in the second half. I'd say a second factor is how aggressive Beck is with his offense--so far this year he's done a good job calling plays when we're in the hole, but the play calling with a lead has been uninspiring. Assuming we don't give Wisconsin gift turnovers (which is a big assumption) in the first half, we should be playing with a lead going into halftime. The question then is can Beck and the Husker offense successfully play with a lead, or will we call a lot of conservative plays and have to win on D?
  19. The diamond is a fan favorite and has worked well, but I don't think Beck has a lot of plays out of that set, which is probably why we run it so infrequently. Seems to be mostly sweep or zone reads, cant remember any pass plays out of that. That said, hopefully Beck has some more plays out of it that he's kept under wraps.
  20. So by process of elimination, we Husker fans think Purdue is just great ! With Michigan State a close second. And nobody is taking a swing at our newest "brothers"--Rutgers and Maryland
  21. I don't see how Wisconsin can't respect NU--they basically are a carbon copy of the Huskers of the 80s, led by a Husker alum, wearing Husker colors
  22. I don't think we've been in the B1G enough to have enough bitter losses to know who to hate yet! That said, I'm gonna vote OSU--not because of their fans, but because of their coach. The one who everyone treats like a miracle worker because their team went undefeated in a weak B1G this year (and a VERY VERY weak Leaders division), the one who was making fun of NU's secondary ("look, the DBs aren't even moving!"), the one who ran up the score this year in Columbus. ESPN and their brain-dead hype machine is trying to talk up the meme of "OSU went undefeated in Urban's first year, just wait and see until next year!" Please, fool! OSU is gonna be looking at 2 losses next year, one courtesy of the Huskers smacking Urban's smarmy, cocky smile off his face in the B1G championship game! Oh yeah, Urban you may think you're Saban, but you can't hold Saban's jock
  23. Yes but tell the truth--how many times have you had a "bad feeling" before one of the 10 games we won?
  24. My solution--since Martinez is a second-half guy, put Rex in as Qb in the Wildcat with Ameer for the entire first half, then bust out the passing game in the 2nd half. No turnovers in the first, and speed kills in the second
  25. So if I couldn't believe my ears. I had to replay it a few times. That should go well with PSU's troubles. I agree he meant to say fighters, but what was he thinking? Oh and I think it will be close. Won't be surprised if Wisconsin wins. We need to start better. So is it now kosher for Pelini to call the refs a bunch of f*ckers?
