  1. Would anyone have an issues if SF came here and brought his entire staff with him? I know its common for a new HC to bring some staff, but ever hear of the entire staff going with him?
  2. A. It would be a total show of support for Coach Frost B. If they cant fill a 43k stadium at home with an unbeaten team, I doubt they travel well. C. The stadium has a chance of being full D. (I bet there are more UF and FSU fans in Orlando than UCF fans)
  3. You know what should happen......Lets assume that Frost is announced as coach next week......Whatever bowl game that UCF goes to (if Frost is coaching) Pack the House with Nebraska fans cheering on the Knights.
  4. Think about Florida for a second (and my wife and her brothers are Alums) Steve Spurrier leaves there.....goes to SC Urban Meyer leaves there....citing "health reasons".....goes to OSU Jim McElwain coaches there this year this and is fired after citing death threats ( and a losing season) Does that sound like a great place to coach?
  5. and what you just posted should be the biggest single "interim confidence booster" piece that we currently have.
  6. Would take Fuente in a heartbeat. Head coach success at two different programs
  7. Probably smiling at the idea that he could be paid millions of dollars for a job not well done, millions more to no longer do that job, and have everyone smile and say--what a nice guy"
  8. To reiterate what I wrote yesterday. I am completely confident that an offer has already been made to SF and accepted by SF. I am completely confident that part of the offer was to not announce the hire until after a certain time--mostly likely after the UCF conference championship. I am completely confident that had SF said either No or a maybe...anything other than a firm YES, we would see the AD in full campaign mode for the next prospect on the list and would be doing everything possible to communicate that SF was the not guy they were going after at this point in time. (why would they stay silent on a NO) Why let the fan expectation grow for something that will not happen. The calm silence from Moos and the AD is very reassuring that SF is N (it also gives Nebraska fans a reason to watch the UCF game next week and cheer like mad---sort of like our own faux bowl game)
  9. Folks, Its been privilege posting with you this season.
  10. At halftime, I watched the clip of Queen Regent Cierci's march of shame and mentally envisioned Diaco's face on hers.
  11. During the first half, I pounded my head against the wall so many times, that I am now entering concussion protocol.
  12. Here is why I believe that this is already a done deal. Eichorst is fired, Moos is hired with the number one priority being to hire the next football coach. Moos puts out several "feelers" to various candidates to gauge their response (which is what Chip Kelly was referring to) Moos makes a direct offer to Frost (through the proper agent channels, etc) Now, when offered, SF is either going to say Yes or No--He might need a day or two to think about it, discuss it with his wife, etc. but I am confident that a scenario discussion of this sort had taken place long ago and so the answer is a verbal yes--and there may have been a bit of detail negotiation back and forth about budget for staff salaries, etc. Frost also communicates to Moos that he does not want this to be made public until AFTER his season is over--to give full focus on his current team and to now allow any distractions from their season. (smart move on his part) He asks that it all be kept quiet until the proper time. Moos and company agree. Now, the overwhelming fan base choice is Frost, it is who we want, it is who we expect--and expectations are HUGE right now in Husker Nation....... Now.....lets say when Moos first reached out---and Frost had said NO, or said I will consider it, but will entertain other offers--we will talk after the season.....(something like that) Don't you think Moos and company would be doing EVERYTHING possible to shift the discussion away from Frost as a lock--as a way of slowly turning down those expectations and perhaps turning up the fire and excitement for another candidate that was wiling to make a solid commitment? I would think they would be smart enough to do this---via media sources, etc. Start shifting the narrative away from Frost and to someone else... They have been largely silent........ and that leads me to believe the first scenario has taken place and its already a done deal,
  13. What I want to find is someone with basic video editing skills and have them create a short video clip consisting of the following: Take the Big10 commercial that you always see on the BTN commercials where they show the animated campuses that "pop up" on the map.....now then cut the part of the Memorial Stadium popping up and INSERT it into the Game of Thrones animated intro---in place of Winterfell and then run then entire clip on all social media pages when SF is announced as the new HC.
  14. I grew up in the Lincoln area and now live in the Orlando area. The biggest contrast between the two programs and what I feel will tip the scales in favor of SF coming to Nebraska is this: Very few people here give a rats ass about UCF. The game day atmosphere (even during this unbeaten season) is almost non-existent. You don't have the pre-game tailgating to any degree, you don't have the crowd frenzy, the community just doesn't care...and why should they. Most that live here....are not from here. They have no historical roots in the program. Also there is just too much to do and see in the this area (It can overwhelm the senses at times) Too many nice theme parks that are 100% devoted to customer service. Incredible restaurants, you have the Magic, MLS, you have Major League Spring Ball here at the ESPN complex, you have some of the best beaches in the world 90 minutes west or east of the city. I'm out and about everyday and am on the UCF campus 2-3x a month. I can count the number of times on one hand that I have seen someone wearing a UCF shirt or hat. Was having coffee one day and struck up a conversation with a group of guys in their late 30's--(this was last week) none of them even knew that UCF was having that kind of year. Compare/Contrast that with a team that has not really been competitive in almost two decades and the crowd passion--statewide, is still there. I cannot help by feel that as a competitor, a guy who is driven to succeed, that SF wants to be in a place where the fans love the game as much as he does. Just my two cents.
  15. No state income tax here, one of the reasons we moved here.
  16. We moved to the Orlando area a little over a year ago. Very challenging to fill the UCF stadium for a variety of reasons. Mostly because there is just too many things to see and do in the Orlando area. The weather is beautiful (most of the time) tons of entertainment and outdoor events. I am out and about every day here--and am on the UCF campus about twice a month. I don't think I have seen more than 5 people wearing a UCF hat or shirt since the season started. That, among other things may be a compelling reason for him to leave UCF. On a somewhat related note----does anyone see any possible parallels between Harbaugh at Michigan and a potential Frost to Nebraska scenario?
  17. On a positive note, It would appear that there will be zero allegations of improper touching, groping or close personal contact made against the Nebraska defense on the field today.
  18. He would not be "assisting" the new coach.
