  1. Anyone want to place odds on a Trump tweet about Big Ten football and Schlissel? Nevermind it probably already happened.
  2. He is an Immunologist with degrees from Princeton and John's Hopkins, maybe he just concerned about the student athletes. Nevermind that 9500 kids are in dorms.
  3. I am hearing this from two buddies. One a Michigan fan the other PurDon't. "Rumor has it that the main reason there is no Big Ten football yet is Michigan’s President, Schlissel. Sources saying he is even using the fact that if Michigan doesn’t play, Big Ten doesn’t get its biggest game of Michigan v Ohio St." Schlissel is not a Harbaugh fan. Yes Michigan High school football is allowed now. Seems fishy to me that Michigan/MSU would not play. Other than MSU is probably trying to avoid this season. It's probably politics at this point. Play with 8 teams. Heck play without Michigan.
  4. Beat me to it. Those states have restrictions by their govenors in place. Not sure why.
  5. The Big Ten has about 2 weeks to get their chit together before October 10th is a pipe dream. I mentioned this outcome in another thread, but now I want to have fun and take it further. With no October 10th season start... - Recruits start backing out of their commitments to Big Ten teams and go to conferences that want to play football. - No coach actually wants to coach in the Ten anymore. Harbaugh wants to play football. His contract is up. He says screw it and goes back to whatever NFL team wants him. - Does the Big Ten have as GOR? Either way, Maryland and PSU decide to bolt for the ACC which is a better fit for them and still has good academics. ACC now has their 15th and 16th teams to form the first power conference. - There is no reason to keep Rutgers at this point, and they get booted. - Nebraska, who just wants to play football, heads back to the Big12 along with Utah who's politics stick out like a sore thumb in the PAC12. - The AZ teams were always the ugly step children in the PAC10 so they start talking with the Big 12 and get the conference up to 14. - OSU looks around the Big 10 landscape and sees PSU and Nebraska gone, Michigan looking at another decade of recovery without Harbaugh, and Dantonio already left a smoking crater in East Lansing before COVDI even hit. They except an invite to the SEC who now needs to get to 16 teams. - The race is on and the Big 12 convinces Colorado to came back. Colorado is happy that they can pretend to be Nebraska’s rival again and if they are scorned there is always Utah. - The Big 12 then looks to round out its 16 teams and goes after Iowa, convincing them the Big 12 is really their best fit now that the Big Ten thinks they are a racist program and their only real rival, Iowa St, is already in the conference. - ND looks around and decides with 16 team conferences forming its time to pull the trigger and they follow OSU to the SEC to round out that league. - The remaining 8 teams in Big Ten form the East division of a new 16 team conference with the original PAC8 in the West. They name it the AA conference which stands for Arrogant A-holes....which is the reason they got themselves into this mess in the first place. - Michigan is happier than a pig in chit because PSU and OSU are out the way, MSU is a smoldering crater, and they don't have to play at Kinnick stadium at night anymore. They know they can beat Wiscy every other year at home and fly out to the Rose Bowl to get their butt kicked by USC.....its just like old times.
  6. Does that make Dan Patrick the Skipper?
  7. Did I hear larger balls? I am in. Wait I thought that Brady deflated them?
  8. Larry Scott: The Pac- 12 didn’t think they’d have this type of testing capability until November at the earliest, so this news is a highly encouraging development. Scott noted that he’s been speaking with Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren frequently. “A high priority for the Pac-12 would be to align our seasons,” Scott said. “It would be awesome to have some of the traditional postseason opportunities the Pac-12 and Big Ten have enjoyed with each other.” They have a way to save face. This IS going to happen.
  9. Lost of folks are backing off this 30 to 35% report. I heard very few of the NFL guys testing positive have myocmyocarditis.
  10. Hope is rising....I might have to turn my streaming service back on.
  11. Nope. My kid is only doing cross country at a 5A school, but no testing. Meets are underway with limited runners. The only HS kids I know that caught it got it from adult family members who actually got a little sick for a few days and got checked. If someone is not feeling sick, no check. Heck even if they feel a little sick they would blow that off.
  12. The train is still at the station...unloaded.
  13. I sense momentum building for this October start. Teams would have to start in pads within two weeks. They are still practicing at some Big Ten schools. For those that are not, they probably need the entire month. Seems like we will know soon if there are legs to this rumor. Thanks for talking football rumors folks. My hopes are back up a bit, just in time for a Holiday weekend. Maybe I should stop reading this thread until Tuesday.
  14. Well dang, they locked the thread that was supposed to talk football, so now back to this one. I hope this applies. Baltimore Ravens Coach John Harbaugh is adding his two cents. “I’ll throw a little controversy out there. This is my position, I say free the Big Ten,” Harbaugh said on Wednesday. “Free the Big Ten. Let’s go play some football. Let’s get Michigan and Ohio State and all those great teams playing some football out there.” Harbaugh went on to cite Michigan’s testing data, which is as good as it can get during a four week span. ”Michigan had zero positive tests in August,” John Harbaugh said. “They’re doing a great job with their protocols and those guys want to play. For anybody that wants to opt out, they can. They can. Their families should have that choice just like the Southeast Conference gave the players and families that choice. And most of them, as you know, decided to play as a family. So, I think the Big Ten families and players should have that choice.”
  15. Per Dan Patrick, "If conference can pass updated safety measures and procedures, Big Ten targeting Oct. 10 to start football season." Link to tweet: https://twitter.com/dpshow/status/1300875158018756611 Heard Moos shot this rumor down.
  16. Dammit this thread was supposed to stick with Football and any rumors that would keep our hopes alive for our favorite fall sport. The other thread is for politics and virus discussion. There is nothing to see here...please disperse.
  17. None of that matters...he is the face of the Big Ten cancellation. All these parent letters are addressed to him. If the other conferences are successful, I would not want to be in his shoes.
  18. What happenes when ESPN pans the camera past Kevin Warren sitting in the Mississippi St. stands watching his son play a game he deemed to dangerous for the Big Ten to play?
  19. From the guy who broke the story on the last vote.
  20. So the answer to this thread turns out to be YES, there is college football this season. We just chose not to participate.
  21. Here’s to a successful season for the kids!
  22. Michigan football was COVID free in August. 822 tests. Harbaugh tweet: "Stay Positive! Test Negative! Play Football!" Gattis tweet: "Tremendous Job by our players and Staff! All while doing Football! Sports is the answer not the problem!”
  23. They will push on. What is Bama enrollment? 40k? 2.5% plus the kids that already got it earlier this year. Plus the kids that don’t know it. I bet 10% Have been infected. Another month and they will Have 3 months of herd immunity to get them through the season.
