  1. hello, here are some of UN targets w/ UN visits, & when they have set visits to other schools: cobb - UN is still only school he has visited - & might be the last hancock - visited UN & has them as his leader - will visit md 12/16 reese - has UN (10/28) & az (10/21) leaders - visited okst 9/16 turner - UN (10/28), az (12/9) & ku (12/2) adams - UN only school he has visited - but holds tn, ky, & ok offers bailey - visited ou 9/2, & has UN in top 4 (UN & ou are the only 2 schools out of the 4 - miami & nd being the others - who have offered) boatman - will visit UN 11/11 & ist 12/9 dorrestein - visited UN 10/28, & will visit mich (vs ohst) - he camped at mich walton - UN (10/28) & pst co-leaders williams - will visit later - but will miss out on game day atmosphere brown - UN 10/28, il 12/3, mst 11/18, mo 12/10, & ou 11/28 campbell - UN 9/9 only school he has visited clayborn - UN 9/16, tt 9/30, & mo 12/9 martin - possible UN offer & visit? mccarthy - ohst 9/23 & UN 11/11 - clearwater, fl - beck has to host, right? paulo - azst 9/30 & UN 1/6 davis - UN is still the only school he has visited - I hope it stays that way mouton - UN 9/2, mi 9/9, & lsu 10/14, & has usc offer thenarse - UN 9/9 is the only school he has visited - offers form UN, wa, wast, & or wallace - fst 9/20, pst - unofficial, ohst 9/19, UN (visited & 2x camper) young - he should have stayed at mill s, since mill n = iowa meat carter - fres 10/14, orst 12/2, ucla 12/15 (no offer as of yet), UN 11/11 culbert - UN 9/2 is his only visit poe - UN visit (10/28), & offer from fl (mom = fl) pflueger - UN leader - he will probably visit (track offer), & will visit wy 11/4 (sorry, I placed this in the wrong place before) - sincerley hootin' annie's goatfarm

  3. Hello, I have recently been comparing last yrs & this yrs dt recruits to one another, & have found that there are similarities w/ their 40 x's: johnson 6-3, 312 - 4.80 jensen 6-4, 280 - 4.90 cryer 6-2, 270 - 4.78 dagunduro 6-2, 300 - 4.88 suh 6-5, 275 - 4.90 & then throw in campbell 4.75, brown 4.80, & mullins (who I believe will eventually visit) 4.80 w/ this trend it seems like UN & blake are going for dt w/ the speed of normal qb's - & I am not saying that UN is passing on dt's like washington (5.23) or deas (who visits 11/11) or gunn (5.20), but maybe UN & blake are focusing on speed at the dt position a lot more than purely strength & if this true than gunn (5.20, & 2007 o central recruit) better learn how to say seppo evwaraye
  4. Player: Herb Bynes Hometown: Lauderdale Lakes, FL Position: QB/Athlete Height: 6’3” Weight: 212 40 time: 4.81 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Central Florida, Louisville, Middle Tenn. State, Nebraska Favorites: Committed to Hampton Rankings/Stars: Rivals: #26/ Bid Red Report: #77/ Assessing the talent: He’s a very solid, very adequate high school quarterback. He has good balance in the pocket and an escapability to avoid sacks. As far as flat 40 speed, he will not run past many. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 0% He has a preliminary list and the Huskers are on it. This guy will get offered more as the season goes, as other teams loose their top recruits. UN has offered 2 qb's one of course being freeman, & now herb bynes? 6-3, 210, 4.7, offers from cf, l-ville, mtennst, & UN - the only way to explain this offer is maybe the coaches are feeling that there are going to be some transfers in jan. or maybe the UN coaches are simply going to slightly nudge someone like adams or davis into a transfer, since there is not any real playing time for someone that far down the depth chart, especially w/ freeman coming & beck of course next yr - plus we all know how cally likes smaller #'s w/ significate rotation & reps in practice.
  5. hello, there is some info for you on shannon boatman: - 6-7, 310, 5.05 *** - tyler jc (tx) - wagner is recruiting him - he will graduate this dec - UN has yet to offer - he may visit for ksu game - houston, ist, kst, scar, tcu, utep have offered - az & lsu have shown him some interest - but have not offered
  6. Hello, thanks for the info nameless, your efforts really make this board fun & quite thoughtful, & I agree w/ a lot of your predictions, but I believe that you should add a few name: q carter & s harris at s, & q hancock, t turner & d bowens at wr, c deas at dt - all have visited or will be visiting soon & have UN as leaders or co-leaders s - thenarse, harris, carter, davis, young - mouton got his usc offer is out cb - wallace (jones is N) - culbert got his ucla offer, & wright, cox & ross are out lb - paulo & poe (allen is N) - poe's mom like a closer school like flor or louisville dt - deas & brown (johnson & jensen are N) de - clayborn (davis & smith are N) wr - bowens, turner, hancock, & reese (holt is N) - wr cally visitors = wc bound qb - (freeman is N) rb - cobb & wilson te - (mcneill is N) ot - dorrestein & adams (jones is N)(williams & bailey = visit - campbell = ec) og - walton (henry og/c is N) also, I think that lewis should be taken off the likely to commit list, since he has yet to official or unofficial to UN, & has visited nd 10/14, & will visit ga 11/11 & usc 12/02 - UN's chances for him are slim for now
  7. Hello, I agree w/ nameless on this one, because ross was looking for significant playing time as a fr, which would not look very promising to him or any high profile hs db w/ the verbal of jones (this yr's top rated db & nation's 2nd rated db)& the return of green, bowman (last yr's top-rated juco db), & grixby - all to contend for significant playing time. plus, wallace is the one they truly want & if he verbals will take the "spot" do not get me wrong ross is a great prospect (#10 db, 5-11, 185, 4.4), but not an overriding need - UN is not greatly pursuing any other db that I can think of outside of wallace (maybe pflueger, who they will maybe be able to develop in a few yrs) plus, db's cox & wright, (along w/ ross) who had visited early will most likely stay closer to home
  8. Hey, how do you like my avator - sweet right? - & I know that this has nothing to do w/ q carter (well it sort of does) - but I am responsing to nh's statement of te help being more important than s: (1) UN will have another yr w/ herian when he returns from his injure, so te will be covered for a yr (2) tomerlin will be giving te a whirl in the spring (3) phillips, mueller, sievers, who all played & have experience going into next yr. & harvey (rs) may get snaps next yr (4) plus, there are not any stud te's available: reuland - fav's nd, ucla & usc gresham - fav's ou, ok st, lsu, & miami reese - high on ok st washington - top jc te (only great jc te prospect this yr) - verballed to usc mccoy - high on usc pupello - high on fsu fox - verballed to fsu epps - high on miami quarless - high on va & miami mcmichael - verballed to bc mullen - verballed to nd torchia - high on va yeatman - is the only available te prospect who has visited, but will probably play ot in college (& who knows probably lacrosse, too) plus, he may be leaning to nd (5) s position has 3 sr & 1 jr on the depth chart - plus brothers may leave after this yr - so 4 s positions may have to be filled, & I hope that those slots will be filled by stud s prospects (6) if there is a spot of concern it is here - shanle will probably start, green could shift over & play s - w/ jones verballing, & grixby & bowman at the cb spots, l. jackson may play but he has zero game time experience at s - so, one of the 2006 fr s may play a lot, or may even start - this spot is a big ?
  9. there has not been anything posted so a rumor for now - wait for tomorrow to get a report on smith & on all the recruits who visited - lewis was an unofficial for the UN/ou game - he has visited nd 10/14 for his 1st visit & liked the visit a lot - might be a slight lean - he will also be visiting ga - 11/11 & usc 12/02 - jensen is trying to work on him but nd & usc will be hard to beat wallace has camped w/ UN the last 2 summers & watched the spring game - besides visiting UN today he has visited osu 9/9, fsu 10/01 & unofficial for last weeks psu game - which he really enjoyed - he will take 2 more visits before verballing - possibly 1 visit to the u of miami - he is familiar w/ UN & friends w/ david harvey (UN te) both will probably be jan commits - I do not know if lewis will give UN an official visit, so slimmer chance w/ lewis than wallace stay tuned
  10. Hello, to answer the ? above about the game possibly hurting recruiting - my friends at huskers illustrated just told me that MIKE SMITH just verbelled - at 9:15 pm - gossip for now but it is something to ponder - smith really is no surprise if he did verbel - UN has been high w/ him for quite a while MIKE SMITH 6'6" 245 4.85 de is N - watch on rivals, because something should be coming
  11. Hello, with quinton carter visiting there will be a great chance for UN to garner a safety, which has been a key position for recruiting, & UN has yet to get a verbel out of the 3 previous visitors at the s pos. (mouton, davis & thenarse) - yet there is hope with steve harris visiting today (whose high school - hebron, at lewisville, tx - is the former hs of UN target ian-yates cunningham & very close to my nephew's hs at argyle, tx - hopefully he can give me stats of harris - my nephew: 15 yr old/6'4"/coming to UN in 2008). also, I am amazed at UN's ability to go into a state - nv - where they have not recruited well in prior years, & get visits out of the state's top talents: nv top 10 (rivals): #3 jashaad gaines db 6' 202 4.67 - visited 09/02 verbelled to nd #4 mike smith de 6'6" 245 4.85 - visited today #7 quinton carter ath 6'2" 175 4.45 (great s speed) - will visit 11/12 #10 troy cummings - offer - UN has mild interest (had UN high early - likes ore st now) & ronnie paulo lb 6'2" 223 4.65 - will visit 1/6
  12. Again, thank you for posting something on the original post - ou visitors/recruits - & for not posting some subtle sarcasm against an individual who happened to be responding to the original post - ou visitors/recruits: does anyone happen to know if ronnie paulo is still coming today, since scout now has him visiting on jan 6th, yet still has an article stating that he is geeked for his visit to the ou/UN game - something that scout themselves posted on the 26th? good-bye
  13. all right thank you for writing the "you don't have to choose a smiley when you post," because that adds nicely - perfectly to what I had written about tomorrow's visit of steve harris - & to all who have pointed out to me my misspelled words (thanks for the post) - even though I was writing about something related to UN at the time, & trying to add something to someone's original post of something related to UN (thanks for posting something of no bearing at all so you could chide me) - & to those that have given me a simple in response to something I had written (thanks for your thoughts & subtle commentary) prediction: smith (de), dorrestein (ot), & harris (s) - verbal sometime sunday. good bye
  14. Hello, UN seems to be hosting another visitor this week: s/wr steve harris *** 5'11", 180, 4.5 - lewisville, tx 92nd rated prospect out of tx's 100. UN gets his 1st visit. Lately, (within the last few weeks) UN has been after him very aggressively, & UN got what they wanted from him, which was a visit for this weekend's ou game - he has UN as a slight lean right now so maybe this weekend will push him into a verbel. he has offers from a good group of major univ. - like ia, wi, tt, ok, & of course UN
  15. Hello, irving fryar jr. - wow, it would be interesting to see that name on a UN jersey again, wouldn't it? As for him getting a scholarship - (1) he has not proved himself well enough to garner a schollie: 12 catches for 500 yards (2) his father played 16 yrs in the nfl & aver. about 2 mill per yr, & has donated some big $ over the yrs to UN, so he paying for his child edu. is not out of the ? (3) it is not out of the ? for jr to walk on, since he has good size 6'1" 185 & speed 4.5 to fit into UN's wco. (4) plus, many kids have choosen their fathers univ. (e. manning - ms, dorsett jr pitt, klecko jr - temple, rodgers - UN, ect...) & some have gone to bigger & more exposed univ. then their fathers (sims - tx, p. manning - tn, payton jr - miami, winslow jr - miami, fouts - utah), - & all have done well even though they were all compared & scrutinized endlessly - which is something they most likely have grown used to (5) this yr alone UN may get a few walk ons with familiar names - like press taylor, justin makovicka, & jason swift if they are asked to walk on, & slight chance of a schollie for matt harper or tyler bullock
  16. Hello, yes I know, & knew before I posted this that ***'s do not always reflect the true potential or character of any student/athlete - but with the ***'s I was try to show how UN has been able to recruit the best at a certain position - which is a reflection more so on the UN coachs' ability to target top rated db, s, & ath. in the country, & have them commit more so than a comparison of former players (of a yr ago - such as j bullocks & washington, who happened to be great in their areas in 2003). Also, I know that some recruits have not lived up to their billing (which is something that I wrote above), yet I hope that they do blossom into their projected potential - hopefully next yr, especially since they will have more experience under their belts. Plus, any comparison b/w solich's players & cally's is simply silly, since it was solich's inability to target & commit top talent that help him exit as coach of UN - & that also seems to be the main reason that UN has fallen to mediocrity.
  17. Hello, corey young (mill. north) just received his 2nd scholarship offer, which happens to be from colorado state, & of course they are recruiting him as an ath. - which is of course something that would appeal to him, since csu is willing to give him a shot at rb (somewhat reminiscent of hicks in 2001 who wanted a shot at rb - which was not offered to him at UN, therefore he picked isu). Well, he now holds 2 scholarship offers, & he now wants to wait & see what is available for him - which could mean that maybe he is waiting for another offer maybe from iowa - remember that tarpinian (a school mate who has verbelled to iowa, & shada & olsen now at ia were mill north grads - if young is waiting on a schollie from ia, then I have one question - what is with the mill north football coach? ( answer: he must have been a good ol' friend of solich's)
  18. Hello, as stated above I am wrong, alas...because grixby was a **** , & ginn (osu) was the only ***** db in 2004 - grixby was rated #4 scout & #5 rivals at the position of db. the correction would change UN's db rotation to 2 ***** & 5 **** (if UN gets the s that they are after of course), which is still the top rated def backfield in the nation in regards to *'s & over all position ranking...I have searched & have yet to find a college that has/had higher ranked prayers & prospects in the position of db/s, which is amazing or could be...& I know that grixby, bowman & jackson (who has really yet to play outside of spec. teams) have not been or played like their former national ranking this year, yet I am excited that next year will be their blossoming (it has to be right?) - along with a tremendous rotation of stud db/s players - in jones (& one or two of the hs **** s). - Plus, the fact that a # of UN's opponents will have a new qb to run their system next year - usc, co, mo, a&m, & tx (young will go pro). The prospect of the future is truly bright in this department, so watch out next year it could (should) be game over in the passing dept - man, woman & child: grixby #5 hs db '03-'04 bowman #1 jc db '04-'05 jones #1 jc db '05-'06 (#2 overall) jackson #4 ath '04-'05 & possibly davis #8 s '05-'06 wallace #4 cb thenarse #12 ath mouton #3 s
  19. Hello, getting ramone johnson (# 15 rivals og) to visit would be a big coup - but (like what was stated above tn & il are high w/ him right now, & tn gets his 1st offer in dec - but the good news & bad news: the good news is that he is waiting until after the season to take his visits - so UN is not out of it, so any thing might be possible - he may visit in dec or jan. the bad news is that with taking his visits in dec & jan, he will not get a chance to compare (or experience) the UN game day atmosphere - which he could have compared the greatness of a sea of red to the silly singing of ol' rocky top, or to the lack of attentance of an il game. Lately, UN has not be focusing on too many og - outside of walton 6'3" 275 (#3 rivals og), it has all been ot...ot...ot...&...occasionally s & wr, but johnson would be great to get.
  20. Hello, UN's future with their def backfield looks good in its potential of gathering stars: UN currently has grixby (former ***** hs db), & bowman (former ***** jc db) in its d. backfield, along with l. jackson (former **** rb/s). plus, UN has a verbel from jones *****, #2 db (rivals), 6', 192, 4.4. wallace ****, #4 db (rivals) 6'1, 195, 4.4, who is coming this week - friends w/ harvey (UN rs te), & walton (hs **** ot, who is coming with him). Plus, wallace knows UN well, since he camped at UN the last two summers - so UN has a reasonable chance to get his services. davis ****, #8 s (rivals) has UN high (but has said he will take visits to va, vt, & nc st to compare UN visit to), & mouton ****, #3 s (rivals) has UN med. has visit UN & mich, & thenarse **** #12 ath has UN high - has only visited UN - anyone of these 4 guys if they verbel could start, which could give UN: 3 ***** at cb & 4 **** (if davis, mouton, & thenarse all commit). Of course, along w/ shanle, green, wilson, & c leflore, who were all ** (& brothers if he stays ***).
  21. Hello, great news to hear that his parents are coming...which should increase UN's chances of getting he to verbel, because if perry & his parents both like the visit then perry's verbel will be in the bag...plus, (which was written above) UN was the 1st major univ. to show interest, which increases UN's chances all the more. I love it when the parents come, because they get to taken in all the excitement with their child - the red sea at memorial stadium, the fans, the facilities, & the history of UN is hard for any other school to match, & UN has fared so much better with potential recruits when the parents come - like this year ever potential recruit who came with a parent has either verbelled, or has UN high or very close to the top (like adams & campbell, whose parents were really wowwed), & then there is a couple (clayborn & jensen) who will be toting their parents around campus the next time that they come so that their parents may take in the excitement, as well - which is how it should be, because parents should be a part of their child's visit. I will always remember buster davis (fsu) & haloti ngata (ore), who fell in love with UN's excitement & wanted to come to UN, but their parents who had not come with them ruled UN out for various reasons (cultural & religious) without seeing UN & regardless of what their sons wanted - they are both doing great for fsu & ore. but parents have a way of influencing an outcome both negative & positive (w/o even being there). jerry brown will also be coming with his parents for OU - which also bodes well for UN.
  22. Hello, I thought for sure that at least one of these two would be redshirting their 1st year so that they would have 3 yrs to play 3 DI football - oh well, it looks like they will both have 2 yrs to play 3 instead (thanks for their stats nameless - it seems like they are playing well & gaining a lot of yards, & with their built 6'2" & 6'3" they should be fine looking targets in 2007 for beck & freeman. Just think, last year at this time every husker recruiting board was littered with articles & statements on UN's absolute need for 2 key positions: wr & lb - with an absolute need in #'s, size & speed, & there were dire predictions if those positions were not filled with studs: hunter wr - did not qualify franklin wr - did not qualify spain wr - did not qualify hardy wr - good game vs. maine - lost starting position (slowed by injury) brooks wr - early knee surgery - has played a few downs octavien lb - out for the yr - broken leg - played one game vs. maine moore lb - 3rd string - plays spec. teams dillard lb - 2nd string - has complained about lack of playing time covey lb - redshirting souder lb/s - special teams & has played a little at s
  23. Hello, you are right dean is not coming to the UN game - for one he will have bigger things going on, such as having knee surgery (his season ended earlier this month - torn his acl) - but other wr's to take his spot are: turner 6', 175, 4.60, & jones 6', 170, 4.57, who are both similar in stature to UN's other starters - nunn & fluellen who are 6', 185, & former starter hardy 6', 175, yet the difference in what I have read is that jones has TREMENDOUS HANDS - as a hs jr. his stats were: 68 catches for 1,113 yards & 11 tds, & he is a cousin of fsu's great wr fred rouse (I hope that jones comes & verbels - he seemed to like UN enough to camp at UN this summer, but I have not read anywhere but on this board (from eric the red) that he is even coming this weekend. I hope that eric the red is right, though). 3 under rated players are coming this week in smith *** 6'6.5", 230, 4.85 (wow, de from las vegas), who wants to be N, paulo ** 6'2", 223, 4.65 (wow, lb from las vegas), who has N high, & dorrestein *** 6'6", 290, 5.25 (ot from plainfield, il) who is not listed on the above list from eric, yet is coming according to scout & rivals articles, & fingers crossed will be the 3rd ol to verbel to UN this year. j. brown (il)is coming with his family, so that is a good sign, & lewis is coming but it will be as an unofficial visit - so very little chance of him verbelling - yet who knows, any thing can happen. Md boys are coming : wallace ***** (high school all-amer.), & walton **** 6'3", 270, 5.2, ol (wallace said if it feels right, who knows what may happen - I read that he said that or something like it a week ago) - so that gives a UN fan hope, I guess. poe db? I think he is being recruited as a lb - 6'2", 220, 4.64 (not the speed UN wants for db, I hope), & j. brown, de? I hope he is being recruited as a dt - 6'4", 258, 5.4 (also a little slow for de). I hope we all have a fun time this week with a UN victory & at least a couple of verbels - hoping for wallace & walton, yet will settle for smith & dorrestein. p.s. I believe d.j. jones is using his official for OU game - he may push someone N the right direction.
  24. Hello, just speculation, or maybe the sky is falling type of feeling, but what if the recruits who came to see UN play in mo's memorial stadium (freeman, mcneill, clayborn, brown, or whoever) came away with a real good feeling of UM, & its atmosphere & its future (which could come away with a B12 N title this year). The reason that I bring it up is because of a rumor I have heard on another web site (& I do not like to retell rumors, but it has me a little worried) that mcneill liked what he saw out of UM, its environment & its possible future...could he be really thinking of visiting the UM environment, again?...I hope not, & I hope that it is just a silly ol' rumor, because I just could not handle the fact that UN lost twice on Sat - one the game, two on a recruit. Go ahead, & give me a lot of these... & make me feel better, please. I hate rumors!
  25. Hello, so UN's ol had some trouble with the 100th worst d in the nation - well the only good news & cure may be coming this weekend for the OU game in the packages of: walton 6'3", 270, 5.2, indian head, md **** lewis 6'5", 280, 5.2, aurora, co **** (unofficial) dorrestein 6'7", 305, 5.25, plainfield, il *** (was a ** a month, ago) williams 6'6", 305, 5.4, florissant, mo *** (was a ** a month, ago), he has been given the invite from the UN coaches & may come this week (slim chance), or UN's home game against KSU (better chance). UN has the lead for adams 6'8", 325, cadiz, ky (he has not taken another official visit to any other college - but did attend one of UK's earlier game (unofficial). campbell 6'6", 270, 4.75 (WOW), has UN in the lead (his parent & he liked UN a lot), but he will probably take some visits to other school (probably east coast colleges, just a hunch) - if he signs with UN or another school he may play on the DL. henry 6'3", 295, 5.50, & jones 6'5", 300, 5.40 are N kriehbiel 6'7", 272, 5.00, pratt, ks (he had UN high after they ordered - but that has cooled a bit - KSU gets his first visit in dec. these are the o-lineman that UN has a great chance at...campbell, walton, & jones are on rivals top 250 prospects...I think that they are better than last years ol visits...I just wish that I was a lot more wowwed (like ia's ol recruits last year wowwed me, with 3 top 100 prospects - one being a te of course, & 1 top 250 prospect).
