  1. Since I'm not player, I don't feel bad about looking ahead. Say we win out going into the conference championship, how high does our ranking get? Personally I don't think it ends up any higher than 8-12. Simply because of the perception of the conference, and the fact that UCLA has at least one loss and may well end up with more. Thoughts?
  2. Really hope Ohio St. wins this. The BIG needs a team in the top 5!

  3. -And this is the Mich St. all the pundits are so sure is better than us? Crap Pudue's D damn near pitched a shut out, and Purdue's offense was the only thing stopping itself from scoring! JOKE.. count me as not scared.

I was never scared to begin with = )

  4. And it continues, add Spencer Long to the list!
  5. Sounds like something a person that was behind the curse would say. Yeah, very suspicious! Go back to haunting Iowa running backs
  6. I included Stienkuhler, because I felt his injury was such a huge loss. I think if he played in the Championship game, that whole story would have had a different ending.
  7. With the announcement that Taylor is once again out this week. It occurred to me that we have had an awful lot of bad luck when it comes to our "star" players that we planned to lean on in their senior year. Is there a curse? Do these kids take so much on that it makes them more vulnerable to injury? Key Players Hurt in Senior Year: Taylor Martinez - QB - 2013 Rex Burkhead - RB - 2012 Baker Steinkuhler - DT- 2012 Jared Crick - DT - 2011 Alfonso Dennard- DB - 2011 Doug Dubose- RB - 1986? Matt Herian - 2006 Beau Rudd - 2007 Spencer Long- OL-2013 Jake Long- Te- 2013 Sam Keller- QB 2007 *Zach Lee- 2010- rumor was he was injured and thus unable to play in place of a hurt Martinez *** Cody Glenn - 2008 - dismissed from team All I can think of of the top of my list: Add more if you can think of any.
  8. I've seen an interesting development happen over the last couple weeks, most people clamor that our D-line is inept, can't handle the 2 gap scheme, can't stop a run or get off blocks. Yet, Coach K has seemed to escape all of the blame. I even saw a post today about Paps being demoted and Coach K being made coordinator. Why does Coach K get a free pass? Living in Iowa, I got an interesting perspective on his hire. Many Hawkeye fans were excited to see him go. They were more that underwhelmed with the product on the field following Clayborn, and even thought Clayborn was one of those rare talents where it didn't matter who was the coach, he just had "it." (like Lavonte David)The prevailing thought was that he wanted the D-coordinator job and there was no way Ferentz was going to give it to him, so he bolted. That being said, in his two years here, our D-line has gotten worse. Even established studs have seemed to decline in their abilities (think Steinkuhler). I remember a world herald article stating that Kaz coaches D-linemen to head butt the O-linemen to drive them back. Who head butts with their eyes open?
  9. This game isn't on the defense. They have played damn near every snap since the middle of the 2nd quarter. The offense hasn't done anything! 300 yards pathetic. They've had 8 posessions now with what 3 first downs. This is all offense's fault.
  10. Up 21-3. Beck decides to get conservative. Before the lead- we see diamond formation; exotic shifts, great plays and great drives. The lead gets established and he throws the play book out the window for three and out after three and out after three and out. 7 posessions with no scores. What a joke after a 21-3 lead. Completely cost us the game. Disgusting
