  1. Umm...but everyone's life does matter, and it's not a competition to see who has had the worst upbringing or challenges to go through in life. I have white friends that have had massive struggles in life due to health issues but also to abuse, and many of these challenges cross racial and ethnic lines. To single out one race and suggest other races suffering is not as important does not pass the common sense test for most Americans. Blacks who are continuing to play the victim card in the 21st century when we have a black President and have seen so many blacks have success actually goes against everything that prior generations in the civil rights movement stood for. I'm not saying there are not cases of racism still present in this country, whether its whites against blacks, blacks against whites, or some combination of other races...it's there, and always will be. But if the black community really want to improve the lives for all blacks, their energy would be better directed at understanding the root cause of why blacks have a higher percentage of poverty and unemployment, why so more black households are without fathers, etc...
  2. That's because some of them did come out and say "All lives matter" and got heavily criticized for it. The people pushing for "Black lives matter" say "All lives matter" is just people trying to be ignorant of the problem. This isn't my argument. I'm merely presenting the side as to why the mantra "All lives matter" has come under heat. Here's a brief link. LINK It's coming under heat by leftist extremists who want to push their agenda and criticize anyone who agrees that we should be focused on helping all lives, black, white, Hispanic, asian, and even the unborn. What if we had a Hispanic Lives matter movement...how might these same candidates answer whether Black or Hispanic Lives matter is more appropriate.
  3. Were they asked to do that? (I didn't watch the last Republican or Democrat debates). If not, I don't see why they'd just blurt that out randomly. Yes, the question in the debate specifically asked this, and Sanders and O'Malley stated black lives matter, and Hillary danced around the topic and refused to say "All lives matter." The only one with decency and common sense was Jim Webb who has since dropped out.
  4. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/11/25/white-student-union-facebook-pages-spread-nationwide/76360120/ More campuses are getting involved in the White Student Union movement. I am not supportive of many involved with black lives matter, including many of its members chanting that they want dead cops, but I think a more appropriate opposition group would pull members of various races and be titled "All lives matter." It's ridiculous to me that the Democratic candidates running for President would not come out and say "All lives matter" at one of their debates for fear of losing votes.
  5. I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet. I saw earlier today that there was a push to form a "White Student Union" at the University of Illinois after increases in black protest on that campus. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/11/20/white-student-union-challenges-black-lives-matter-at-university-of-illinois/ From the little I have read, I'm not sure the approach taken by whoever is posting this suggestion makes sense, but I do wonder if we will see some groups opposed to all the Black Lives Matter groups (or similar) start to get active on college campuses. The U of I administration condemned the White Student Union and has contacted facebook multiple times to have it removed. Speaking of Black Lives Matters, I see that our great chancellor, Harvey, sent out a note the other day talking about how great Black Lives Matter is, and encouraged everyone to participate in their rally, and that he would be there too. Now I wonder if there was a White Student Union or some other opposition group if Harvey would endorse it and attend as well. I mean, there could be white students that feel there is too high of a percentage of blacks on the football team or in other major sports relative to the national racial percentages, and that there must be equity in that regard. I don't believe in giving any group special treatment and believe the best person should get the job/position. Anyway, I'm sure there will be more to come on this, especially if it continues or builds steam.
  6. So back to the main topic here, I think a lot of Americans are scratching their head at this President for continuing to minimize ISIS and the many attacks we have seen by them in the past year, calling them the "JV" team that has been "contained," and today calling what happened in Paris a "setback." Does this guy not get it? Even the mainstream media reports today were in disbelief at not only his words but his tone. He stated that we are going to keep doing what we have been doing, which most don't even understand what his current strategy is. If someone on here can articulate what his real ISIS strategy is, and how its going to help us defeat ISIS, I'm all ears.
  7. He is intentionally refusing to say the words "Radical Islamic Extremists" or "Muslim Extremists." All 4 Democratic candidates in the debate last night also refused to utter those words in order to pander to the Muslim community in hopes of getting their votes.
  8. I'm a bit perplexed at some of the comments on here debating the Koran and getting into the inner workings of different faiths. The reality is this....we are living in 2015, and there are many extremists around the world that align with terror groups that are tied to Islam, including ISIS (the Islamic State). This does not mean that all Muslims are bad people, and a high percentage are not, but those who are committing such violent terror acts here in the 2000s are often doing so under the belief its aligns to their Islamic faith. I am deeply troubled by what happened in Paris yesterday, as well as other events that have occurred in the past 12 months at the hands of ISIS, including many beheadings. What I am more concerned with is that our current commander in chief stated just hours before the Paris attacks that ISIS was "contained," and he previously referred to them as the JV squad. How can any President, who has access to more classified and confidential information than anyone in the world, be so wrong in his judgment of this evil group?
  9. I could care less about your hollow words. Your agenda is clear to anyone who reads these forums. You're the one who takes a tragedy like this and casts imprecations at Obama. This isn't some game for you to further your political hatred of the current president. It's a real situation. Piss off, idiot. Dude, you are the biggest Obama defender on this site, and defended him when he politicized the Oregon shooting just hours after it occurred. Anytime we see mass tragedies like in Oregon or like in Paris tonight, its not a game as you suggest. It's serious, and we need to deal with the issues seriously. I don't hate Obama or anyone for that matter, so again you are putting words in my mouth. I have political disagreements with his policies, just as I'm sure you had many disagreements of the policies of his predecessor, and that is what political forums are for. I'm not posting this in the football thread or any other thread. I certainly am Conservative, but there are many Republicans I have been voiced my displeasure with including some things that Bush 43 did. Also, like you, I have 2 young kids and am extremely worried about the trajectory of this country.
  10. Lie. That attack means far more to me than it does to you. To me, it's about family. To you it's clearly about scoring points on a message board and continuing your crusade against Obama. That kind of crap disgusts me. There's zero excuse for it and you should be ashamed. Hey, I said before that I hope everyone you know is fine, and I mean that, and I will say a prayer when I go to bed here shortly that they are fine. But I do not understand how you can equate what happened there to deaths from car accidents. This is a "politics" forum too, and you of all people were defending Obama for wanting to "politicize" the Oregon shooting, and now are criticizing others on a "politics" forum for discussing the political fallout from today's terror attack.
  11. Because the battle against hate, ignorance and stupidity starts at my front door. Does your front door have a mirror? Seriously, I'm sick of this political correctness BS. It's ok to say that Muslim Extremists are out to kill innocent civilians who believe in a free society WITHOUT believing that all peace-loving Muslims are bad, and calling anyone who agrees with the term "muslim extremist" a hater.
  12. I have family in Paris as we speak. I'm not ignoring what happened. I haven't heard from them yet and I'm damned worried about it. So go piss up some other flagpole with your bullsh#t. First off, I certainly hope your family is ok, but with that said, why in the heck are you on here arguing about this right now?
  13. OK. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_clergy_involvement_with_the_Usta%C5%A1e https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ngo_Dinh_Diem http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/apr/08/catholic-church-apologise-failure-rwanda-genocide-vatican First off, if you have to go back in history 20-70 years ago, that does not equate to recent years. I specifically discussed our wake-up call on 9/11 and the US strategy for addressing terrorism over the past 15 years. We can go back hundreds of years discussing all sorts of persecutions of various religions. I read all of your twitter posts, and you are trying to minimize what happened in Paris, yet somehow when a topic aligns with your political views such as the Mizzou racial slurs, you claim everyone was ignoring how bad the racism was involved in the 2 racial slurs and the one instance of racial swastika appearing on a wall.
  14. There are millions of Muslims in France. Dozens, MAYBE, are to blame for these attacks. What are you going to do with those millions who live in peace and want peace? This isn't a "Muslim problem" any more than the KKK is a "Christian problem." This is an extremist problem, period. You got your response in bold half right....this is a MUSLIM extremist problem. I would say a high majority of the terrorists attacks we have seen in the past 15 years have come at the hands of those sympathetic with Islam, whether its ISIS, Al Queda, or some other similar group. The two go hand in hand. Our weakness abroad over the past 7 years has emboldened these Muslim Extremists and helped in the creation of ISIS. The current strategy of this administration to take a back seat in play defense with terrorism will be in question in the days and weeks ahead. Saw you and your kind coming a mile away, buddy. First off, buddy, you can promote your twitter feed all you want, and suggest that we should all ignore what happened tonight given people die in car accidents everyday? What the F*ck? Your analysis skills are comical. Do you think that those dying in a car accident had someone intentionally drive toward them to end their life? Seriously, I want to understand how you are truly equating car accidents with a terrorists attack. This should be good.
  15. There are millions of Muslims in France. Dozens, MAYBE, are to blame for these attacks. What are you going to do with those millions who live in peace and want peace? The current strategy of this administration to take a back seat in play defense with terrorism will be in question in the days and weeks ahead. WHAT?! LIKE WHAT?? What about the countless killers here in the US that claim faith when they bomb and murder people in planned parenthood? Christian Extremists? Probably not, because you don't want to be associated with some deranged f#*k. Same goes for the m(b?)illions of Islamic people that live all over the world peacefully. Please point me to times in recent years where Christian extremists have murdered 150-plus people in a coordinated attack like this. You are WAY off base suggesting that a few abortion providers that have been killed is anywhere near in comparison to what transpired tonight and in other recent terror attacks. Nobody is saying that all Muslims believe in this ideology, but nearly all of those involved in ISIS and Al Queda are Muslim, and the fact that this President refuses to say Muslim extremists is beyond me.

As is the work of previous administrations and sticking our nose where it doesn't belong will be questioned. Don't forget when we were scared of the evil communists in Russia and them invading Afghanistan we armed and trained and funneled money to some dude named Osama bin laden It's pretty sad when even uber-liberal Bill Maher came out again in the past 2 weeks criticizing Obama for failing to acknowledge Muslim Extremism. http://www.thewrap.com/bill-maher-blasts-obama-for-avoiding-phrase-islamic-extremism-words-do-matter-video/

  18. Good point. Speculation is that this is the work of ISIS and Muslim terrorists. wonder if our current commander in chief will now be willing to say Muslim extremists...words he has refused to state before.
  19. Prayers for all the victims in France. Such a horrible tragedy. Looks like its at the hands of Muslim Extremists again.
  20. Exactly...that's exactly what the Progressive movement is all about. Speaking loudly and imposing their will when its convenient for them, and silencing anyone that disagrees with them. This woman is a Professor of Communications at the University, and from what I have seen so far, she still has her job and has not been forced to resign. We have video evidence of her encouraging guys with "muscles" to come and take away an actual Mizzou journalism student...where are the leftist protesters demanding her ouster?
  21. Please explain the series of incidents besides something being displayed on a wall and two claims of racial slurs. Again, I can go nearly any public bathroom in a college and see derogatory language towards blacks, whites, gays, christians, etc... Please tell me where the public officials of the university condoned racist behavior, or where they knew who specifically was initiating racial slurs and failed to take action. As I stated earlier, I know its a big campus, but I have heard from three peers who all have kids currently enrolled in Columbia who have friends of all races, and they acknowledge they have seen protesters around, but have not seen or heard of anyone feeling afraid to be on campus, or feel that racism had worsened on campus.
  22. So if the buck stops somewhere, wouldn't it ultimately stop with the POTUS given we have seen racists incidents elsewhere in the country? We had the shooting at the church in South Carolina which was far worse than anything being suggested on Mizzou's campus. Where does the buck stop with that racist act?
  23. Racist acts have occurred at Missouri. It is the legal responsibility of the Missouri administration to prevent such things. And how would the Mizzou President or any other President prevent racist acts. We have had racist acts all over this country, moreso in recent years, so is the POTUS legally responsible to prevent those things? And since they have continued, do you feel he should step down?
  24. Well your whole point here is how bad racism is at Mizzou, and you said earlier "There is demonstrably racism at Missouri" but now you are admitting it's nothing unique to what may exist on every college campus. Thus, that begs the question why should the President have caved to the demands of this small niche group because he didn't agree to their demands which included admitting white privilege, and what precedent does this set moving forward when a college president caves to any demands that come from a group that has the support of the college football team? Try again. That's not my point, has never been my point, and it's laughable that you're trying to manipulate this into something it isn't. Seriously. Try reiterating the point I've been making without exaggeration, without misrepresenting it, without artifice. This should be entertaining. Ok, well then please state your point on what has transpired at Mizzou.
