  1. I think NU will continue to be divided unless either of the following happens: 1. Bo finally starts to get meaningful results and as this team playing consistently good football. 2. Bo is replaced by a new coach that gets this team playing consistently good football.
  2. I've heard just the opposite from many fans who don't get into posting on these message boards. Most are tired of the bad results on the field, and also not pleased with Bo's many tantrums. If they had a choice, he would be gone.
  3. You guys are really missing the point. I fully support the players, but am pis*ed off at this coaching staff for not having them prepared on the field on a week to week basis. It's not fair to the players. All programs have injuries, new players, etc... but year in and year out we see Bo's team commit too many turnover, penalties, missed tackles, etc... and unless Bo can actually deliver what he's been preaching for 6 years ("It's all about execution" and "We are here to win championships"), you are going to see more and more empty seats at the stadium. I would much rather have a coach that can have the team prepared on the field week in and week out, playing good sound fundamental football than worry about some sellout streak.
  4. For those of you who continue to defend Bo, are you honestly happy with the product he's been putting on the field? And do you honestly believe that there are no other coaches out there that could get better results at Nebraska? I'm really trying to understand the love affair with this guy. I give him credit for turning the program around from what it was, and making us nationally relevant in 2009, but since then, the program has gone downhill. I fully support the players, and want to see them do the best, but it pi**es me off to see a coaching staff that is not doing its job and having the players ready to play good fundamental football on a consistent basis. I think most who are frustrated at Bo would have no qualms with him if our losses were close games in which the team played good clean football, but that's simply not the case.
  5. can you substantiate this? i have heard it before, but is it just a myth that has been repeated enough times that people accept it as truth? I agree. I know Bo was well thought of as a DC, but have not heard other coaches gushing over his abilities as a head coach.
  6. Wow, Auburn has gone from worst to first, and will meet Mizzou...yes Mizzou, in the SEC championship game. Who would have thought one of our lowly old rivals from the Big 12 would now be playing in the SEC championship?
  7. ADS-You are missing the point. You seem to think that keeping the sellout streak is damaging the program. I believe that Bo's leadership and coaching abilities (or lack thereof) are damaging the program. I would rather have a head coach that has this team playing good, clean, fundamental football consistently than a banner showing we still have our sellout streak.
  8. Traitor. Say what you want man, but why pay top dollar for a coach that continues to put out a bad product. I lived in Lincoln for 3 years and loved every minute of it, and enjoyed going to every game. I now live 8 hours away, and for me to get to a game, buy tickets from stubhub, and stay overnight, we're talking $500-plus dollars and a weekend away from my kids. If I believed in Bo, which I did his first 4 seasons, I would make every attempt to make one game a year. But it's just not worth it to me now. I don't pin this on the players, and am fully supportive of them. I just don't like when a head coach is not teaching the players the fundamentals and does not have them playing good football. I'm sure the university will survive without your "$500" you spend each weekend in Lincoln. If it's not worth it to support your team and the players who choose to come here then that's your choice. But we don't need a f'ing thread about it. LOL...we have enough f'ing threads on many topics, so if you really don't care about this topic, why post?
  9. exactly. I agree here too. Bo did his job in turning this program around, but has peaked and showed no signs of being able to finish the year in the top 25, let alone winning a conference championship. I still had hope after the 2011 season ended that things would still get better, but that hope has faded.
  10. You are right on this. As I'm watching Mizzou play now, and watched other games today, I realized how exciting college football can be, especially if you are a team of relevance. Nebraska has not been relevant since the 2009 Big 12 championship game where they almost knocked off a team that made it to the BCS championship game. That was the game that Bo peaked in his career, and it happened mostly with players he did not recruit.

  12. http://sports.omaha....-to-keep-pelini Of course Tom is going to support Bo. He's the one who brought him in and helped create this horrendous environment. He's also the one that gave Bo a huge contract extension that was not deserved. I'll always hold Tom in high regard, but when it comes to picking Pelini and continuing to stick by him, that's one of the marks on his resume.
  13. When "my guys" tell me to f--k off and kiss their a-- as i'm paying a donation fee of $8K/year on top of ticket price, I have to wonder if this is really the guy I want to be supporting. When "my guy" applies for every job that comes open, can't get them, so comes back and pretends that he is "all in" on our program, I wonder if that is the guy I should be supporting. When "my guy" loses yet another game by 20+ points to an average opponent, then burns it down in the post game saying he doesn't care if he's fired, i wonder how stable the guy I'm supposed to be supporting is. Everyone is excited right when a guy is hired. But there was very little available data to go on. People were excited because Callahan was gone. Now that we have 6 years of data, we don't have to sit here and pretend everything is rosy for the sake of being a big fan. Well stated Power-I. I think most on here that would like Bo to leave gave him ample time to recruit his players, add his own staff, and put his stamp on the program. We are now in year 6, and he's had more than enough time to get this program heading in a positive direction, not backwards. Each person favoring a change in the coaching staff likely had a turning point that made them feel new coaching blood was needed. For me that was last year's Big 10 championship game when I watched in person the complete collapse on the field.
  14. Perhaps Bo and his staff should go to some coaching clinics to understand football fundamentals. They can then instill this in their teams, and hopefully start to see Nebraska get back to winning at least one meaningful game a year.
  15. If Boosters and the big businesses are just as displeased with the crappy performance we've been putting on the field, perhaps they will save their money. Regardless, you'll see more and more empty seats in the stadium as a sign of how much the fans appreciate having a head coach that doesn't know how to coach the fundamentals.
  16. If I'm not mistaken, so far this has been Bo's worst year in recruiting, so I'm thinking he bad publicity (and performance on the field) are going to result in his worst recruiting class yet.
  17. I agree. Why should the most loyal fans in the country settle for a coach that does not have his team ready to go week in and week out. This is not about the players...it's about the head coach and his staff's inability to demonstrate they can coach these players up and have them playing consistently good football.
  18. I couldn't agree more. I really have no faith in Eichorst as AD given how he's handled this season. It's time for the donors to start speaking their mind and getting the attention of SE and HP. If this were the first tirade by Bo, and he had previously won championships or showed he had the team improving from prior seasons, I would have no concern keeping him around. But he's not shown the results against tough competition, and we have now become a top 35-40 team.
  19. I'm a fan and fully support Pelini. My caring level about media support is low. The job of the media is ratings and revenue.....not Husker football. This isn't just about the media. Bo likes to throw tantrums at the media, referees, and fans. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking this is just about the media.
  20. So Bo's staying...now what? Well, just count on another 4 or 5 loss season that results in Bo's seventh season as head coach without a championship. And we'll all be talking again around whether we should be excited that the team is still above .500.
  21. If the AD really cared about the players, he would bring in a new coach that new how to coach the fundamentals and get them playing their best football. Bo and this staff, while loyal to the players, are not helping these players in the end.
  22. I'm completely shocked at the AD's statement of support for Pelini. At least make a statement indicating his demeanor and behavior is not acceptable. Perhaps they are waiting til after the bowl game, but if this is the case, that is a huge mistake. There is no benefit in waiting. And if the plan is to keep Bo long-term, I guess the AD is willing to settle for mediocrity. A Pelini-coached team will never make it very far with his poor example of leadership, and his inability to truly coach. We keep hearing he's a fundamentals kind of coach, but week in and week out we see a complete lack of execution. So if the guy can't coach, and is a bad representative for the entire Nebraska program and university, what's the point in keeping him. My guess is you'll start to see more and more empty seats at Memorial stadium, and Eichorst can be known as the AD that helped bring along an end to the infamous sellout streak. What is the
  23. 2/3 have won NC, you figure out who's the two His career isn't over (and he did win a NC in 2007, but as a DC). True, but after yet another meltdown on national TV, I don't know too many programs that would want Bo as a head coach in the immediate future. I can see him landing a DC gig somewhere though.
  24. I get that Sipple is about as equally, if oppositely, disliked as Dirk. But these knee-jerk reactions to Sipple's and Dirk's columns are getting pretty tiring. Neither is half as bad as they're painted out to be. I realize they are entitled to their opinions, but Sipple used to do a better job at disguising his true feelings. Earlier in the day he had an article up suggesting that the administration was rooting against the team today (just like he claimed they did in 2003). At the end of the day, after assessing the full game and post-game, I would use a different word choice than "fighter" to describe Pelini. It's pure spin.
