  1. Not sure where the logic comes from either. But I guess Frazier is the bar for QB as Osborne is for HC. We just need another Joe Ganz!
  2. Fans should stop trying to replicate Tom Osborne. There is only one and never will be another. We CAN step out of his shadow and be great again. Maybe not as consistent as his teams were because of the way football has changed but it's going to take a lucrative offer to get a proven HC to come to Lincoln. I love Frost, but how can anyone say he would be a great hire while he has zero head coaching experience.
  3. Think I heard during a podcast a while ago Jason Peter commented that the team is out of shape that the S&C program is lacking and players get tired too easily. He kept saying they are out of shape look exhausted after a series. If this is true then that could be the systemic problem that needs to be eliminated.
  4. I have heard players say they love Frost, would run through a brick wall for him... we've heard these things before. But Frost is not a proven head coach much the same way Bo wasn't when he was brought here. Do we really want to go through another 6 years of OJT? I know I don't. So we whip out the check book this time.
  5. Is Drake a better athlete? Side note: Imagine if there was a Kenny Martinez. We'd be using KMart Wally Martinez aka WalMart, lol.
  6. It's simple, take Martinez to a doctor who can medically clear him to play and when he says no, we go back to TA/Kellogg.
  7. Why? If Frost was HC and won 9 games a year we'd probably try to run him out of Lincoln too and he would never consider returning again. I think these type of threads should exist when it's imminent that Bo will be done i.e. Callahan's nail in coffin game vs Okie Lite.
  8. Will not come to NU. Show me a link or source that says he wouldn't because last time I checked, money talks. http://en.wikipedia....onco_Mendenhall You can find it starting at "Bronco Mendenhall is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints....." BYU is his dream job and it is a job that comes without the pressures of a place like Nebraska. He isn't going anywhere. Is that a clause in his contract? Cause if so, then I'll agree with you. See Flood's post. I will also say that I know countless Mormons. In fact I was just up in SLC two falls ago visiting friends and watching HS soccer. I didn't know you guys were official spokesmen for Mormons that is pretty cool.
  9. No. I dont think the staff has. I think Taylor has. Watch the first three games. Then watch the next three games. Then re watch today, and try to argue with me. So you're saying we have to re-watch the entire season thus far? No thank you, lol.

  11. No it's on the players because it's their job to "execute" remember?
  12. Jesus christ True. What the f#*k is going on. This is an embarrassment. If Martinez trots out for the first snap next Saturday, I'm walking out that north stadium and not watching another play all year. I like Taylor as a person. and he's been a warrior for us. And i've tried to be nice about saying these past 5 weeks the it's time to move on, but it really is. I just dont get it anymore. If what Benning is thinking has any substance, then Bo really does need to go. Seriously, what does the Martinez family have on Bo that we have to continue down this road. it's one thing to call for the backup when we've never seen them play (ala Carnes, Green, etc), but we've seen the team play with a level of fluidity and confidence under Armstrong and kellogg in all 3 phases for 3 games that we havent seen consistently ever under Bo that I know of. Bo said in the presser today that it wasnt Taylor's fault. That the team played poorly and didnt execute all across the board bla bla bla. But why? Doesnt everyone see that Taylor being back in the game, that the team reverted back to playing sh**ty like they did before Taylor's injury. The players know who gives them the best chance to succeed at qb. We saw it plain and simple today. Total regression. And after the progress made on both sides of the ball last couple games, Taylor's presence is the only explanation. hell, even our punter couldnt do his job today. What gives? It's just not working. Was I supposed to read this post sarcastically? Should we be blaming Taylor for Ameer's fumble, too? No. But i wanna hear a logical explanation why sh#t like that hadnt happened in the 3 games without Taylor, and why the offense looked far more fluid and consistent in those three games than it ever has under Bo. I guess I would also like an explanation as to how it's not blatantly obvious anymore. You aren't the only one who is upset about it. The offense/entire team had swagger with TA/Kellogg. I see a leaderless offense when Taylor is in there. Except for maybe Abdullah.

  14. I agree 100%. I thought I was the only one who saw this. I felt the team was more confident when Armstrong/Kellogg were in there. Obviously the teams they played had issues defending both QB's. Opposing defenses are just not threatened by TM and his sketchy decision making. Even a simple swing pass was completely telegraphed and resulted in a 8 or 9 yard loss against Minnesota. You can tell Martinez has very little on field awareness and no ability to check down receivers. He can only lock onto one receiver that's a defenders dream on pass plays. Same issues for 4 years! We all thought it would get better, but it has not! This is true as the shot-put throwing motion returned today too. His deep passes hang in the air waaaay too long which helps a defender make a break on the play. I saw this quite a bit today when TM went deep.
  15. Bronco Mendenhall deserves a serious look right now. He can coach. He favors a running offense and an attacking D. Just look at his record at BYU. You know what? It's not every guys dream to coach at their alma mater when their alma mater can't match dollar for dollar against a program like Nebraska.

Opposing defenses are just not threatened by TM and his sketchy decision making. Even a simple swing pass was completely telegraphed and resulted in a 8 or 9 yard loss. You weren't the only ones who saw this. It was clear the guys responded. TA is a leader. I would have taken either TA or Kellogg today. Both guys have superb accuracy TA can really put the ball in tight spaces. I harped on that before his first start while just reviewing his HS tape granted it was HS but the ability to squeeze throws into tight spots only where a receiver can get it, that is flat out skill. You can't coach that stuff.
  17. Wasn't there a rumor a certain player kicked something and broke some bones in their foot? I suppose it could have been Martinez, huh? Makes sense to me... but playing somebody in that condition? Why??? And if TM is telling the coaches he is 100% when he is not, then who here is telling the truth? Lots of questions and weird stuff going on.

  19. Some of the blame can be put on the offense, though. It seemed to me like the offense was too hurry up with Martinez in there instead of being cool and methodical when Armstrong/Kellogg were taking snaps. Felt like the D was on their heels the entire game without an offense to bail them out today. You cannot tell me that having a certain player under center has no effect on the rest of the team... Gill, Frazier, Frost... these were men who had the entire team playing for them... But in a way you're right. This is an era of offense, 50+ points and 500+ yards a game.
  20. Does this season count? This season not over yet. need to see what happens. Yep and that's the attitude the staff and players need to have right now. Last year Bo challenged the players and told them they needed to win out. I don't know if Bo can light another fire under this year's squad. Really need to see how this plays out and take it one game at a time.
  21. I think Bo should be given a Solich waiver and at least have the option to evaluate his coaching staff by the end of the year. Firing Bo is not the answer. We can't fire a coach who has won at least 9 games every season he has been here.
  22. I pine for the old days when players didn't need to use social media and instead kept their emotions in check, letting it all out on the field.
  23. We just need the SEC to keep destroying itself and FSU to stumble. I don't know if FSU will stumble... the Miami game will be huge. That is always a fun series. FSU looks pretty good. If they blow out Miami, they'll probably start getting a handful of votes for #1.
  24. I'm all for Martinez coming back however, I hope if poor decisions are being made while he is under center, I hope the staff isn't reluctant to pull the trigger and go back to what's been working the past few weeks. Not sure if they have the stones to do that.
