  1. I made the call from my living room before the play. You cannot tell me that the possibility wasn't in the minds of most people watching the game. In a situation like that, you do not go for the block. The chances of them missing it were good anyway.
  2. Yeah, I live by North Hollywood. The temps dip into the upper 50s at night and everyone is making a mad dash to the store for space heaters, gloves, & hats.
  3. If I was Callahan and Co., I would be on the big XII about there lack of fair officiating. 1 holding call against our opponents in 8 games, and at least 2 obvious infractions today (one on a TD). That doesn't sound like they are doing their job to me. But then again, you can't depend on officials to win a game.
  4. Welcome I live in LA, and this board really helps me "talk" to someone other than an SC fan. Also, a very good therapy when we lose
  5. Stoops likes to take chances The Sooners missed a FG, had one blocked, and had a bad snap on another, The were kicking a long FG into the wind. Did noone see this coming?
  6. Why does Cosgrove still think that rushing 3 and dropping everyone else into coverage will work? Our secondary is too weak to do this. 8 games in, and we still do it.
  7. Callahan's 15 scripted plays of produced 6 points all year and we give up a touchdown on defense most opening drives for our opponents. How about our staff make some adjustments BEFORE the game starts intstead of having to adjust during the game and come from behind EVERY WEEK!!!!!!!!!
  8. Taylor showed a lot of bad throws and decisions in the 1st half, but I think he's still the man for the job. Remember, this guy has some of the O-linemen in IA protecting (or not protecting) him.
  9. Is there a worse O-line in IA? I don't think so. Last chance to tie the ball game and we commit a false start, holding penalty, and allow 2 sacks. Pathetic. Is it the O-line coach, or are these guys that bad?
  10. It will take a few years for us to be as good as we all want us to be, that's to be expected with a new staff, new offense, and renovating our mediocre facilities. Don't be too quick to judge some of our freshman and JUCO transfers, though. I think Lucky has every chance of being as good as Reggie Bush. The guy was a star at North Hollywood. Heck, the LA times had a big article on him a couple of months ago about his dominating prep career and why he chose Nebraska. I predict this staff will keep getting the best recruits (something that hasn't been done since Osborne) and we will be lovin' life in a few years.
  11. I think we will come away with a victory. I think this team will rebound after yesterday pretty well, especially coming back home. A key to our victory, pressure on Bowman. He has show a little mobility, but not much poise and accuracy when he's being hurried our flushed out of the pocket. Huskers in another nail-biter.
  12. Players like Lucky are evidence that this staff are great at recruiting. Callahan & co. were able to recruit a great class last year and I think it will only get better. How many years under the Solich era did we go without being able to commit a big-play, blue chip running back? Now we just need to get Clausen from Oaks Christian in Cali.
  13. Anybody think we could be ready for USC next year? They'll be without Leinart and probably Bush. I hope so. I live here in LA, and hearing about USC everyday makes me sick to my stomach. Can't wait to fill the colliseum with Husker red!
  14. He's the real reason we've had to spend last 5 years watching a mediocre team that gets beat physically by almost everyone. We used to have the best facilities and the strongest, best conditioned players in the country. Props to Pederson and someone wake me when we're back on top.
  15. Reminds me of our step backwards two years ago in the same stadium.
  16. Bullocks had a stupid interference penalty. In the 4th quarter, Bo Ruud screamed that Brad Smith was going right on the next play (you could hear on TV). He called it correctly, but then instead of staying at home and covering the cutback lane, he overpursued and ended up eating Smith's dust. Hmmmmmmmmm.....Brad Smith cutting back? Who would have thunk it.
  17. I think Cosgrove made great adjustments (disagree with the 2 safety zone blitzes in the 2nd half, though). Overall, though, Cosgrove is doing good, we just don't have enough talent (especially in the secondary) and Brad Smith is too good. I think every team in the country knows how to covert a 3rd and long against us, just throw it up top and wait for a Husker corner to do the rest.
  18. Good point, but the coaching staff gets paid very good $, and I don't they are doing their job when we are still killing almost every drive with mental breakdowns like holding, false starts, and illegal formations. We just played the 7th game of the season, this should not be happening. Something needs to be done, wether it's discipline or even taking away some playing time.
  19. I felt like I was watching an uglier version of the Texas Tech game today. We dig ourselves out of a big hole in the first half, only to go right back down in the second due to stupid penalties, turnovers, dropped passes, and a horrible offensive line. In every game I have watched this year, this team constantly kills drives with dumb penalties like holding, motion, false start, etc. There is no excuse for this in the 7th game of the season. How can our offensive line be so bad? Holding, false starts, and allowing Taylor to get drilled on nearly every play. It might be a long November for us unless these problems can be corrected, but nothing has changed in this department through 7 games, so don't hold your breath.
