Playing toe to toe, got to have any and all points we can get. That might be a Big MO turner? We have completely out played them thus far, but they are getting the plays they need to win so far.

My bottom line on the talent discussion is this: At the end of the year, I will bet that Michigan St, Wisky and Iowa all 3 have more NFL draft ready players than we do. Is that because they are developed better, under the radar recruits, or what ever, they have been producing more NFL talent than we have had. So either our ratings/rankings are completely misaligned or were not and have not developed players for along time. You have to have talent to win, just as much as you have to develop it. You have to have something to develop. I think its a two fold problem. Talent is lacking, and developing it has lacked for some time. Winning is an attitude. Winning a game against a really good team goes along ways in building that attitude. We haven't had those wins since Solich was here, and he struggled against the better teams as well.

This is a game to see if our defense has improved. The fundamentals: tackling, stay in our lanes, and of course covering. Offensively, we will learn tonight if Tanner has turned the corner and has found a comfort level with in the offense and his receivers. We will see if Langs is pass happy, instead of ball control oriented to at least give us a chance in the 4th quarter. In other words, we control the tempo, via the run and occasional play action pass. I am afraid if we don't run the ball 75% of the time, our defense will completely wear out by the 4th quarter. Put up or shut up time!

Who ever the next coach is, they will have to recruit players for a system thats not in place right now. West Coast offenses just don't work in the power 5 division. Pro Style, maybe. Spread option attacks will win games, but haven't won a playoff series yet. I think you have to be able to play smashmouth football with some passing options. Pro Style is probably the best fit. Alabam runs a pro style offense, with pro style players! Mobile Qb's still win in college football. I don't like LSU and those coordinators. They have sucked the life out of LSU already. They can't produce a game plan to beat Troy. How would they last here? Schools have identities. Nebraska and LSU are power football teams. They win by running the ball and playing defense. Simple isn't it?
