  1. Some of the best defenses in the country teach the same technique, including Narduzzi at MSU. Nice timing...watching Michigan v Michigan State, just now MSU goes for a pick 6. DB clearly looking back at the QB to know where the ball is. Perfect. Edit: ABC just showed it on a replay of the entire field. All 7 MSU players in coverage have their eyes on the QB. That is how you do it. One the other hand, just now a Michigan player looked back for the ball, and got beat for the touchdown.
  2. Ya. Because he gets carries in scrap time when we have it locked up. Yeah, mostly the reason. But still, I was surprised he didn't get a single carry against MSU, after averaging 17 yards a carry against them in 2013. His Mom is a family friend, and thus my love for the Cross family. On a serious note, I believe Imani deserves some credit for helping Ameer become the runner he is this year. Imani came in as a workout beast, pushing Ameer, and Ameer has obviously gone to work in the weight room. Ameer is not just getting the goal line carries this year because of his Heisman campaign, he has become a ferocious inside runner himself.
  3. I was just happy to see Imani get more than three carries. Nebraska, still undefeated when Imani gets four or more carries...
  4. 2 - This is just totally inconsistent with what plays were called. If Benning actually said this, I don't trust his analysis as much as I used to. DB was just trying to find a way that we could've possibly run the ball, IMO. They had more men in the box than we did all night. To have a prayer to get the rush game going, we'd need an extra man or two (TE/FB) and I guess he thought using option would've tested if they were assignment-sound and disciplined. I have my own doubts how well it would've worked the way they were knifing through the line Saturday night. Plus we were down to Cotton and god knows who else (Sutton?) at TE. Seems to me, with Ameer alone in the backfield, it was relatively easy for Michigan State to key on him and shut him down. Tommy doesn't throw well enough to pose a viable passing threat, so MS game plan was to shut down the run. I think Cross in the backfield might make a difference. If they ignore the quick handoff to Cross, he is likely to bust one for 50 yards like last year. Also provides an additional blocker for Ameer. Some might be right, we might not have been able to run on them either way, but we will never know because this was never tried. That is what is frustrating to me, always doing the same thing even when it is not working. Nebraska, still undefeated when Imani has four or more carries.
  5. Ameer with ice on his knee makes one sick in the stomach. Pounding the rock just feels better than finesse football. Beck mustof read my Imani Cross thread.
  6. Ameer was so badass, I won't make my usual plug to see more Imani carries. But it was go to see more old school power football.
  7. I'd like to see AA and Cross in the backfield together on a regular basis, maybe with a tight end to field a bit more of a power game. Instead of living on the big play, make moving he chains de rigueur, with big plays being the icing on the cake. Certainly against opponents not in Nebraska's weight class. We shouldn't need big plays to survive against McNeese. Armstrong can run. I'd like to see us field three running threats, two WR, and a tight end as common look. Then switch up and go to three or four wide outs when it is third and long. God, I'm so old school...
  8. wtf does Imani get so few touches? Nebraska hasn't lost a game in three years when Imani gets four or more carries.
  9. Ameer and Newby are talented backs, but I am another huge Imani supporter. I think there should be room for 5-10 cross carries a game, especially since Nebraska has never lost a game when Imani had four or more carries. Did anyone notice Braylon Heard popped off two TD runs 40+ and 70+ for Kentucky?
  10. Maybe, Bo didn't want to face charges, from turning Cross loose on FAU. It could be a compassion thing.
  11. Only one carry for Imani, got a bad feeling about this (8-0) with 4 or more carries...
  12. Nebraska's 2013 record when Cross has 4 or more carries, 8-0. Record with 3 or fewer carries, 1-4. Just saying...
