One thing I am proud of is being part of the Husker fan family. Can't family members talk among themselves? Maybe there's nothing really wrong with it, but why start the new staff off on the wrong foot, and rub new recruits and current team members the wrong way? The guy has been hired, so there's nothing really to be done other than to support it, or at least wait and see, or to just stop following the Huskers, which you don't seem to want to do. Complaining about it is another clear option, but like I said, that doesn't seem productive, or fun. Put the scarlet colored glasses on for the off season, is my opinion. He was only the coach of the Chargers 15 years ago...he was on everyone's top 3 list in coaching hires 10 years ago. Is everyone on this board 7 years old?????? Yes indeed. Going for two was the right call. It was a ballsy call but if it was the right one or not is up for debate. Never know how OT would of worked out. Didn't have OT back then did we? What a tie would have meant would have been a sharing of a national title. And recognition from the most knowledgeable that we actually deserve the title more than Miami because we were essentially playing on their turf.

Agree 100%. I am excited about his recruiting ability and QB work. Can't wait to see what Stanton can do under these circumstances. Looking forward to seeing who the OC and DC will be, and hopefully we can keep the coaches that we want to stay at NU. Going up against the monster that is Nike U would be tough for any school from a recruiting front. I am shocked at the people who are "done" with the Huskers because of this hire. Is that really all that it takes to get you to stop supporting a team that you supposedly love? Wow...I'd rather be patient and see how the next couple of seasons play out. No! But on top of BC then Bo, this will end the sellout streak within 2 years.

Our AD heard there was a pretty good coach in Oregon, he just called the wrong one. I can see how a mistake like that can happen.

He got hired by Wyoming late last year. I think they went 4-5 this year which is not to say he won't succeed there.

Most coaches (leaders), especially the good ones, have an innate confidence that they can succeed in any environment. They're competitors of the highest order, and that cockiness is what we want in a coach. It becomes a trait of the players.
