  1. Tom wouldn't be able to put in the necessary hours. As much as it stings to say it, this program needs to move on from TO.
  2. Not sure I follow the 'saying the right thing' comment. For all practical purposes, the game was (1) for the west division, (2) a berth in the B1GCG, (3) an outside shot of playoff talk and (4) a high end bowl game and (5) an opportunity to beat a ranked opponent that stuck it up our ass 2 of the last 3 times played - all on national TV. Last Saturday was NOT just another game, a lot of stuff was riding on a win in Madison. (maybe I missed your sarcasm?) Pelini will start the next 3 games.
  3. Buddy of mine is a member on RSS, he sent me the below this morning. "RSS has a poll and with over 1,000 votes, 79% want Bo to go." I asked him what the poll asked and his response, "Two options to choose from, Bo needs to go and Bo needs to stay".
  4. Per Bo after practice today. I think DJ left school before the Michigan State game, can't remember for sure. Wish him the best.
  5. Outside of a complete meltdown in the last two games, the only way Pelini isn't here in 2015 is (A) Gundy is hired at Florida and Oklahoma State makes a run at Pelini or (B) Skeleton closets open. I say OSU as they're the only viable school paying a coach north of $3M that would be alright with Pelini type results. Well, I guess West Virginia would fit in that category as well, highly doubt BP would be a good fight in Morgantown though.
  6. Father Matya is his name and he's always on the sideline. And travels with the team. Great guy, drinks like a fish, learned the hard way buying him a load of drinks in Overland Park night before Kansas game. Back on topic...
  7. The only downside about coach Brown is his lack of recruiting. Yes, he gets a guy here, and a guy there. However, IMVHO he could be a top 5 recruiter in the nation. Year in and year out. Ron would absolutely single handily take NU to another level if he was tasked to recruit more. Especially the south, my goodness he's the exact makeup of an individual that would succeed (Father Figure, African American, Religous, Accountable, Educator, Intelligent, Family Man, Super High Character, and more). With that said, he's one of two proven current Husker coaches, regardless of talent at their respective position group.
  8. This one, post #32 by Polo is a pretty good way of saying things. Willie also hits it with this response. Every time Bo has asked for something, even under Osborne and the same with Eichorst, he's been told to put together a plan of attack. Unfortunately, to the few people that reviewed his plan, it wasn't very impressive, and this wasn't the first time. Instead of shutting him completely out, Eichorst agreed to additional staff members for 2014 (2015 class) and a reevaluation to see how things are going with a more than real opportunity to add staff in the immediate future. I can't recall if the meetings take place monthly or every other but I do know they'll meet about it all in December for a 2015 (2016 class) decision. I know Kearney is making an impact, haven't heard much about the other guys so hopefully they are as well and Bo has it outlined to how it benefited the program. Without details, we may be stuck in neutral until it's all laid out. On top of the above, it wasn't clear a year plus ago (when the planning took place) if the NCAA was going to allow an unlimited number of recruiting assistants. Like the decision or not, there was also reservation from all involved, including Pelini, about hiring x-number of people than letting them go a short time later or eating their pay for a full year. This played a minor role in the decision but it was a factor. This is what strikes me about anyone that would share what happened but leave out why it happened. As in any case, it's the most important part and regardless if one is pro or anti Pelini, I can't imagine anyone would disagree with that from a business standpoint. At some point, a certain group of people need to step back and realize, Shawn has done more good to support Pelini than he has bad. The most money ever has been spent on recruiting, the most access to private jets in the history of our football program and additional recruiting staff members have been added. Will that continue? I have no reason to believe it won't, pending recruiting staff...
  9. There's nothing cryptic about it nor was my post all high and mighty. I prefer to discuss it with the one(s) that made the claim.
  10. It's touched a little on page 1 by another poster. I'm more interested in discussing it with the ones that you heard/read it from...
  11. My bad, I missed your response and didn't see it till just now.. Not sure if that poster is aware of this thread and your claim so if you can get him to this thread, I'm more than interested in discussing this further. There is so much to the situation than a simple "he requested and didn't get the number" that it's beyond ridiculous anyone - inside, around or outside the program - would say that and nothing else. Matter of fact, with a little smirk on my face, I can't imagine why anyone would do that...
  12. We were #3 in 2013, it's not Nebraska's fault Penn State went out and spent a ton on Franklin. And Dantonio received a well deserved raise. Prior to this year, he made considerably less ($1M) than Pelini. Just like we don't spend enough on recruiting.
  13. Yes, without question, Eichorst would approve the resources for a proven coordinator. For gawd's sake, TO of all people - who is well known for being as conservative as possible - increased Beck's salary from $315,000 to over $710,000 within 2 years. As of right now, Bo won't get 10 more recruiting staffers, he has to prove what he has needs additional assistance before he gets more. This is a simple business concept. We can spend more than $4M, and pending who the next coaching candidates are keeps the question open. If it takes $4M to get who we want, you bet your bottom ass we'll spend the money. Bo has had the opportunity for the last 11 months with assistants. He has decided to stick with his guys, so far. That's on him, not our Administration, Board or Regents, fans and/or anyone else.
  14. i thought we'd dispelled the myth of "30" a while back when we could only find about 14 who's title's - when even stretched - matched anything relating to recruiting or operations. Bama has 24 non-coaching personnel, not including graduate assistants, set to earn an aggregate total of $1.6 million this year. Without knowing who all is included in their 24 non-coaching individuals, one could say Nebraska's aggregate total is $876,909. Not too far behind Bama, especially considering in 2013 they paid their Director of Player Personnel close to $150,000 more than Nebraska did. That's what you get when one school has Kevin Steele and the other has Brian Crist. And I don't say that to disrespect Brian. One is a well known, proven individual while the other is still working his way up the ladder.
  15. Hey, I'd like a link to this claim... I already know you don't have a link, you read it on a pro-Pelini message board. The same message board that claimed Eichorst denied Pelini the necessary resources for recruiting. The same message board that claimed Eichorst is against Pelini and doesn't support him in anything. Funny thing is, a short few months later, it was publicly released that in 2013, Nebraska football spent the most money on recruiting in the history of Husker football. Let that sink in for a bit. You don't have to believe me for the bold, unlike you I have a link. Right here. To top it off, and I'm not sure it became public knowledge but also in 2013-2014 (for the '14 recruiting class), the football staff had the most access to private jets in the history of our program. Another let that sink in for a bit moment, without a link to my knowledge. So while it's easy for someone to throw out, "He requested 6 but only got 2", one should also give a little more detail as to why it happened, if in fact it actually did.
  16. I wonder what Kenny was referencing when he committed. Is tradition the 9 games Nebraska won in 2009 and 2010 prior to Bell committing in December of 2010? Or is the tradition the 46 or so conference titles, 5 national titles, 100's of academic All- Americans, 32 or so top 10 finishes, 26 or so major bowl games, 300+ consecutive sell-outs, so on and so on... Is pride getting their ass handed to them on a national stage, multiple times a season. Or, is it winning 9 games and accepting just that, #9wins? Kenny, just like any other American, has every right to voice his opinion. Just like us fans, we have every right to voice our opinion. It works both ways, doesn't it?
  17. Nice letter CD and with all due respect, it's 520 or so words too many. This will never make it past Eichorst's gatekeeper. If people are hoping someone important reads their message, keep it very short, 3 or 4 sentences and that's it. Always cc Perlman, Claire, Haws, Whitehouse, Daub and Pillen. And I wouldn't hesitate to include media members as well.
  18. Why would the committee hold Nebraska to that standard but not reward Florida State, winners of 25 straight games? I think you may be on to something which may further show the committee isn't holding each team in the same standards which is a bit of a disappointment...
  19. Here's the million dollar question. If the B1G has a 12-1 conference champ left out of the playoffs, will Delany and the B1G do something about the conference schedule? I don't understand why the B1G doesn't force: Nebraska vs Ohio State, first week of October Wisconsin vs Michigan State, second week of October Nebraska vs Michigan State, third week of October Wisconsin vs Ohio State, fourth week of October Nebraska vs Wisconsin, second week of November Michigan State vs Ohio State, second week of November The above are the 4 teams that have consistently been ranked since we joined the B1G. 2014 regular season Nebraska will face 2 ranked opponents, both B1G, at time of game (3 if Minnesota upsets OSU this weekend) Wisconsin will face 2 ranked opponents, 1 OOC and 1 B1G, at time of game Michigan State will face 3 ranked opponents, 1 OOC and 2 B1G, at time of game Ohio State will face 2 ranked opponents, both B1G, at time of game How anyone can look at the above, minus Michigan State, and find that acceptable needs to explain why. Nebraska is ranked #16 because we have no quality win in the eyes of the committee. Our only loss received a huge kick to the nuts with another double-digit loss to a ranked team. That "quality loss" isn't looking so good, and I wouldn't be surprised if MSU drops another in their last 3 games. Holy heck if that happens... The committee is rewarding teams for playing ranked opponents. We have 1 more shot in the next 3 weeks and if we do beat Wisconsin, it has to be by more than LSU beat them. At time of game, number of ranked opponents Mississippi State, 5 (6 if they make SECCG) Oregon, 3, all wins (4 if they make PACCG) Florida State, 3, all wins (4 is possible if they make ACCCG) TCU, 4, 3-1 record (maxed out) Alabama, 5 (6 if they make SECCG) Arizona State, 6 (7 if they make PACCG) Baylor, 3 (maxed out) Ohio State, 2 (3 if they make B1GCG) Auburn, 6 (7 if they somehow make SECCG) Ole Miss, 5 (6 if they somehow make SECCG) UCLA, 3 (4 if they make PACCG) Michigan State, 3, 1-2 record (maxed out) Kansas State, 4 (maxed out) Arizona, 4 (5 if they make PACCG) Georgia, 4 (5 if they make SECCG) Nebraska, 2 (3 if Minnesota beats Ohio State and 3 or 4 if the before happens and make B1GCG) How anyone can look at the above and say Nebraska should be higher at this point in time isn't looking at things objectively. We haven't done anything however, that can change with a Miami upset of Florida State, or a Husker win over Wisconsin and a victory over likely over (assumed) top 10 Ohio State. I still stand by a 12-1 B1G champion making the playoffs. Could be wrong, and in a selfish way I hope I am unless it's NU at 12-1 left in the cold. The only reason I would want it to happen is for the B1G to adjust the future schedules and strengthen the top teams. If a 12-1 B1G champ makes the playoffs, I assume Delany will see it as no reason to change things up. Leave a team out and it may just be enough to force change... Thoughts on the above rant?
  20. I was told it's the same type of brace Rex used in 2012. I don't believe the brace itself will effect cutting ability, IMO it's a mental thing and whether Ameer trusts it.
  21. Is a pissing match what you want? Excuse me for sharing what I was told, asinine speculation is much better!
