  1. I thought maybe he got that on a Maryland visit.
  2. Right now, that is not the issue. The issue is the 85 total. If all the current commits sign and qualify, I think they are at 82. So, that would only leave 3 more unless some current scholarship players aren't on scholarship come this summer. I wonder how aggressive the staff is going to get about oversigning. Being a new staff, the current players' allegiance is more to their teammates and not the coaches. So, do they really want to put themselves in a position where they have to "process" a player that could end up souring some guys on the team creating dissension, a divided locker room, etc. Also, if there is known attrition at this time I think that would be public, because you would want that out there before the second national signing day and you wouldn't want those players participating in spring practice. The only thing that I can think of that would be known but not reported would be 5th year seniors that they aren't keeping on scholarship that still decide to stay with the team.
  3. CJ Smith S Breon Dixon S/LB Deontai Williams S/CB I don't know how comfortable the staff is going to be oversigning with not knowing the team. Frost put the number at 20 and with the NFL announcements I believe that is where the number currently sits. Because of the above, I think there are higher priorities - OL, DE, RB/WR hybrid, a true CB.
  4. Are we sure that Nebraska isn't slow playing him? It has that feel to me.
  5. I've read the books, but have only watched the first season of the television series.
  6. Ugh. I thought this guy could be the CB foundation for 2019-2021. It will be hard for him to turn down a school a lot closer to home that has been in the last few CFPs.
  7. With the transfer of Vedral, I wonder if they would forgo a QB recruit. If all the following wanted N, I don't think they would say no and that would fill us up: RB Maurice Washington WR Dominick Watt, JUCO Mike WIlliams OL Jarrett Bell DE Daniel Carson LB Javontae Jean-Baptiste CB Taiyon Palmer S Cam'ron Jones ?? Breon Dixon Although the above is highly unlikely, it sure would be a great job of finishing this class with some talent and filling roster needs.
  8. From his tweet it looks like he might be back home in Maryland which would EST.
  9. I don't know why a JUCO offensive guy would go to Tennessee. Does Tennessee even know what kind of offense it is going to run? The OC has been involved with 3 different types of offenses in the past 5 years.
  10. His recruitment seems a little weird. Is he an academic risk?
  11. I have no doubt that there will be plenty of examples next year to be able to show the explosiveness of the offense. Yes, there will be duds, but there are going to be some games where you'll be like
  12. Tweener players. If defense comes in heavy to stop the run, you use the speed to open it up and beat them over the top. If the defense comes in light/fast to play coverage, you blow them up with the run game and power blocking.
  13. Can't blame a guy for wanting to play for Aranda. But, all that talent in the area, it is surprising that they have to go "slumming" in the heartland though.
  14. Looks like we are trying to pull an Iowa on Iowa. (Offer a kid they are slow playing/trying to get to walk-on).
  15. Kevin Wilson as the OC was kind of a head scratcher. He doesn't quite fit with Urban's usual offensive identity. I wonder if either of his coordinators get poached this year.
  16. Some of you guys are delusional. We only beat two of those teams this year, and the other two we beat were replaced with tougher opponents. 1st year in new offensive and defensive systems and you expect 8 wins. Geesh. 4-8 would be good next year and 6-6 would be tremendous. As Tom Herman said, there isn't any magic fairy dust.
  17. No, read the part you didn't quote in my original post.
  18. Most teams are now running dual threat qb systems so getting the next one of those guys is difficult. So, if you can't land any of the elite dual threat qbs, you have to make some sacrifices. I say err on the side of not as dynamic of a runner. We have seen here what happens when you err on the side of a more dynamic runner and try to make them a passer. And I'll just leave this here: Cam Newton (MNC year) - 2,854 yds., 66.1% JT Barrett (MNC year) - 2,834 yds., 64.6% Cardale Jones (MNC year) - 860 yds., 60.9% Marcus Mariota (final year) - 4,454 yds., 68.3% Deshaun Watson (MNC year) - 4,593 yds., 67% Jalen Hurts (last year) - 2,780 yds., 62.8% Anything jump out at you?
