  1. I'd actually like to see college football be covered with good analysis, a lot like Hail Varsity does. Heck, Sam McKeon had an excellent article about 4 running plays that Wisconsin utilizes well. By far one of the best things I have ever read on OWH. I just read a Hail Varsity article that doesn't predict crap. It merely states stuff like "When to Worry" and "When Nebraska is in Good Shape". That to me is more meaningful than "35-14 Nebraska". That's a personal preference. "Tale of the Tape" is by far the best thing to happen to Nebraska fans ever. Anyway, Guy and everyone else is right. I am in the wrong. It truly would be incredibly weird if nobody had predictions. I am just the lone weirdo that has to state "predictions are DUMB!" and look like a jerk doing it. Anyway, carry on. Act like I was never here... thats the spirit
  2. this times a million! It's about HOW we play" usually in most big and not so big games we look like we are doing what the panda is doin in the sig.
  3. i am worried about Flash Gordon gashing us in the running game.......and Ameer being effective enough to play the whole game. as well you should be.
  4. Now why do they scare you? hmmmmmm... Could it be that more often than not we wind up doin what that panda looks like he is doin in the sig above
  5. With those divisions we would be vying for the 2-3rd spot in the north a little like now.
  6. Hey it might be a homer attitude for whomever you are referencing, but since when did being a Husker homer become a bad thing. In my opinion a Husker message board is a great place for a homer. This place could probably use a few more "homers" to be honest with you. Two things I see wrong here in your statement. If Tommy Armstrong and his running and throwing ability isn't enough to keep defenses honest, why would Nebraska show any respect to Stave? They shouldn't. We should be able to handle their WR's one on one, I like our secondary's chances against anybody, and they've proven effective year after year. History says so. Secondly, what is this decided advantage in the trenches? What in the hell? Nobody in the country has a decided advantage over Randy Gregory, Maliek Collins, Vincent Valentine and McMullen. There may be some SEC teams that would give us a good battle, but honestly, nobody is decidedly better than those guys. As far as our offensive line stacking up against their defensive line I would question our ability. Simply because I don't think our offensive line has played very well. Abdullah is a great back and the offensive line deserves some credit, but I believe they can be much better than they've been. On the positive side, I really like the guys we've started rotating in, Moudy, Price and Reeves. I hope to see each of them out there for the majority. The difference is there run game is seriously good, that is what they do. And we can only hope AA is 100% And being a homer is not a bad thing but to say we are going into there house and rockin them by 14 doesn't really show a good knowledge of the game. I've come to the realization I'm going to need an internal translator for your posts since you tend to exaggerate. Thinking we'll win by 14+ means you're a "homer." Beating a team by 14 means you're "rockin" them. Thinking we've had two impressive wins this year means you're insane. Translations using appropriate words: Winning by 14 at Wisconsin is unlikely. Beating a decent team by 14 means you're a decent team. I don't agree that we've had two impressive wins. Thanx for that translation my point being that saying we are going into thier house and winning by 14 when we are a 6.5 pt dog might be rockin them slightly. Anyway I"m insane? I have no idea what you mean by 2 impressive wins I never referenced that in this thread.

  8. Every game! Our strength on the D-line againt the run is at the tackle position, I think they will hold up well but wiskys pounding will take a toll. As far as the d-ends well mister gregory is an excellent athlete but lacks the size and strength to set the edge against a very good power running team, I have watched him get bounced out at point of contact more than I care to remember
  9. Alrighty then football is a game of matchups, their O line more than matches up with our D-line Our strength on D really lies in the secondary while our D-lines strength is in rushing the passer, that will not be a major factor in this game i fear We have trouble stopping the power run game our backer are below average in speed and open field tackling, So we will have to run zero cov some time but stavi is just good enough to keep us honest. As far as skilled people go other than running back they "don't need them"! This game will be won in the trenches where they have a decided advantage. So to really have a good chance to win this one we will have to be effective throwing and I don't just mean the deep ball . So in summation to say we go into there house and win by 14 illustrates a "homer" attitude Now can we win this game if tommie has a great game and beck is able to put together a game plan that plays to our strength , but history that doesn't happen to often. Fact is if we play this game with the same team in there house at this same time I think they win 8out of 10 times.
  10. There hasn't been one. not by any definition I might use. we shall see if we can get one EDITED
  11. Thats what crappin your drawers on the big stage, and looking completely clueless will get you
  12. HTO seriously, do really believe that crap or are you just goin for the homer of the yr. award
  13. Playoff I want some of what u and MO bin smokin
  14. It is up to 6 i don't think it is going to be a pick-em.
  15. Angry angry angry my man
  16. What 2 monsters are you talking about? we have a good but not great d-line, if one of those monsters in gregory, remember football is a game of matchups, qregory is a great atlete but he is not big or strong enough to set the edge on a good running team like wiscy they will bounce hil out of there , rushing the passer is a diff story. He is a fine pass rusher. Just watch gregory during the game and come back and tell me how wrong i was. AA is an excellent back but against a good run defense that offensive line has been below average, the tackles are slow and just not all that good. Ameer has had to do alot despite this. If he is hobbled well............ We have talented receivers no doubt but if pressure tommie at all ,he will have a real tough time finding them. He tends to fall back under the rush and couple that with locking on receivers well........... Don't get me wrong we have decent talent but just not enough to be a team that will be making people think we are relevent again. Sorry that is my honest evaluation. But that is why you play the game lets hope for the best.
  17. they had a young offensive line and had just lost there star qb I imagine that set them back a tad, but it appears all that talent and coaching is starting to get there act together, don't tell me you can't see that and had to turn to a freshman who looked anything but a freshman to right the ship
  18. Give me a &*%^ing breaking. Ohio State whooped Michigan State but they are not any better than us this year. We have the talent to beat them. . Angry you have to quit being so angry and be honest in your assessment of our abilities.
  19. I did. Cause I felt like it. Deflected the discussion to some of the teams ranked above both MSU and Ohio State. Pretty relevent. If you want to look at a team that played well this Saturday and say THAT'S what I want, knock yourself out. But most of those teams will have a day where things go wrong, and star quarterbacks have turnover-prone, out-of-sync games. Fun Fact: Connor Cook had a worse game than Tommy Armstrong in the NU-MSU game. Except for the winning part. Armstrong needs to be better. No doubt about that. But to pretend that the talent and schemes aren't working when there's tons of evidence to the contrary is kinda silly. And yeah, we might get our asses handed to us. Right now we're preceived nationally as the #11 team that hasn't beaten anyone of significance yet. It's a big stage and a big moment for the program. Our recent history involves a lot of big game meltdowns. That includes offense, defense, special teams and at least four different quarterbacks who suddenly play much, much worse under pressure. That's not about a single player or scheme or play-calling. That's about teamwide mojo and how well a head coach gets all his players calmed down, focused and motivated. Oh you you are so right about the team wide issues but since qb is prob the single most impactful player on the team I started there, top notch qbs have bad games but the consistency and overall proficency in all aspects of qb play is what you see in the premier qb's of which we haven't had in quite awhile. Be honest anything other than the deep ball is difficult for tommy, he hasn't and maybe never will develope touch or read defenses. He is another athlete playing qb maybe if it was the option he is the guy or at least better suited and "Tons of evidence to the contrary" please enlighten me and don't feed me that crap about 8-1 because you know that was built on a cupcake sched . The real measure is how you do on the big stage
  20. what does that say when we can be ranked 10-12 spots above whiskey in the poll and still be a dog ? hmmmm
  21. I didn't say anything about those teams , quit trying to deflect the argument, we are talking about nebr. have we been relevent with this meshing of either talent or schemes as to it pertains to the qb position? If everything stays status quo can you honestly see a change in how we are perceived nationally. Where we can play and execute at this position on the big stage with any kind of consistency, as to where we can say the team looked sharp and that we belonged there .Where we could play a top 10 team and not get our asses handed to us. Via sloppy and inept play. Nothing wrong in getting beat but you want to look like a well coached team that looks like they belong. 8-1 don't mean jack as to where we are as a program.
  22. Do you think minnie or msu or osu or nw fear us.? That fear us deal is long freakin gone! Hell MCNeese didn't seem to scared.
  23. Well does anybody see this team going under center and going to a play action style offense where TA wouldn't be dropping the snap and have the need to make that many presnap reads? I don't think so , and if not where does that leave us? It leaves us suckin the hind T__t just where we have been. just sayin
  24. It is not just about chucking it all over the field! it is about making clutch throws, making the easy throws, and most importantly "not making repeated mistakes"
