So, my first reaction was utter disappointment and shock that the hire was not Tressel. But, the more I read about Riley, the more I realize that this could potentially be a great hire after all. He has my full support. I need to remind myself that once he gets here, he has a clean slate. I can't judge the guy by his past records, especially when he led with a spectacularly poor athletic budget and program. I'm starting to develop a gut feeling that things will be exciting. I'm on Riley's wagon. GO BIG RED!!!

This is what scares me too. Frost is sitting in Bo's position back in 2008... an untested great mind destined for a HC position somewhere. As much as I would love DONU welcome a son home, if he ends up just like Pelini, it would be heartbreaking to have to sever ties with someone like Frost. If Frost is our guy, I hope we give him maximum time, just like Pelini.

I'm very excited if Tressel is our guy... I can't even begin to describe what an amazing feeling that would be! Having Frost as OC is just icing on the cake!

Going to add my two cents here. I know I'm a brand new poster tonight and there is so much "inside information" all over various Husker boards. But, I will put this out there, even though it might be meaningless. I ran into Ron Brown tonight at a location in Lincoln. He and I had a short conversation. He told me that the staff is not out recruiting and when I told him I hoped he'd stick around the university, he said that it's a big country and we'll see where God takes me. I am aware that Coach Warren was said to be out on the road recruiting, so who knows now. But, based on this, and I'm likely jumping to conclusions, I assume its possible the entire staff has either been let go or the New HC hasn't made his decision on them yet. Bottomline: I hope Coach Brown and Warren stick around. Ron is a dynamic man and a Husker legend as far as I'm concerned.

Interesting. I don't know how vegas/betting sites work, but can I assume that 5/4 means Vegas is very confident that Frost is our guy? As for Shaw, I think this is a great hire if it happens. I assume that its easier to recruit to Nebraska vs Stanford, so that would be in his favor here. I'm aware he's a Stanford alum, but I feel like I can see him wanting to go somewhere with an easier route into the playoff and slightly easier recruiting? Just my thoughts.

Go ahead and get your hopes up! Bo Pelini isn't here to dash them against the rocks anymore! It's a new day! A new era! Then I shall do so! Bring on the new era and hopefully JT and Frost!! I'm excited for what lies ahead! Hope the Sock hears something new soon!

Hello all, this is my first post here after following this thread over the last few days! I just wanted to say its been really amusing reading the posts here and wanted to thank the Sock and his sources for sharing what he does! Hope the best for us... I have faith "The Ginger Assassin" will come through for us! I will add this, I would absolutely love to see the Tressel/Frost combination happen; trying not to get my hopes up too much though.
