  1. 8-4 or better and I'll admit that I was wrong...but I'm never wrong. I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.... Yeah, thats safe. My prediction for KU is 7-5 More like 6-6...unless parity strikes gold for them again.... I got a nebraska cap too I can get you a photo of me in if you are also willing to take the offer I gave Cy then.... I am happy to post about how wrong I am at 6-6 or worse, I am also ready to hear from you if we are 8-4 or better. You will each get your own posts, about how wrong I am if you are right. I would need to have you make your own thread when I win though, it will be double special
  2. I went to Mines... Be nice :'( You make the baby Jesus cry with your taunting of my academically minded brethren... Very funny stuff Cy...
  3. You are not gonna recruit Mississippi effectively my friend. They do not leave the South. I am not including the Odd JUCO, it does not say where those went. I am including the kids who did not get a scholarship from an SEC team or even Southern Miss. I'll define the south as the confederacy and border/slave states, for the purpose of the exercise. I list however many rivals had on its "top prospects for the state" for Mississippi Rivals top 25 2008 - NONE left the south Rivals top 25 2007 - ONE left the south, to Stanford Rivals top 25 2006 - NONE left the south Rivals top 25 2005 - NONE left the south Rivals top 20 2004 - ONE left the south, to the HUSKERS Rivals top 30 2003 - NONE left the south Rivals top 30 2003 - NONE left the south So of the 180 top players in the last 7 years, TWO left the south. They like that home cookin or something. I guess you guys got one, so that is something, but I am not liking your return on investment.... our current coaching staff may have a better idea of what exactly it takes to recruit in SEC country though.. not saying its going to happen.. personally, i like the series because it gives us another 'respectable' game during those 3 seasons.. southern miss is not a push over game such as the other cupcakes are, but they are not a game that should be too tough to win.. i think its not a bad deal at all... I think it is fair to say they may know more, and they may get other parts of the south, but some states kid's really won't leave the south. Mississippi is definitely one...
  4. The double stripe is more old school. MAtches the old style look with the traditional N and what not. You guys and Penn State have 2 of the best get up in Football, precisely because they are classics....
  5. That viedo of the meltdown under Cally you posted in another thread, the one where they want to come find you and do bad things, look at 1:47. THat is one of the Unis of which I speak. All whites with a giant red stripe down the side, like 5 inches wide... On the shirts and pants Here is the link, I am NOT posting this to taunt, I just do not know how else to show the unis. I have not found another pic of them. If someone does, I will change the link to YouTube, as I am not here to be a Husker baiter, not my intent... i8_zQKWWfjg Look at 1:47... Another reason not to like Cally, but that is a different thread.

  7. Things Callahan did right for Nebraska 1) Left 2) Cured the Delusion of those of you who will not admit it now to become the 49ers of college football 3) Set a nice low standard so Bo has a year or two to get things how he needs em, if the talent from Cally is not a good fit (and it could be) 4) Left Okay, he did gt some highly regarded recruits, but if Bo can't win with them in the year 2, they may have been overrated also... Our first round pick Aqib Talib was a 2*, so readying rivals.com does not mean you are good at scouting talent. If Bo can win 10 games or more in a season by 2009, then I would say Cally was a step up in recruiting. Otherwise, if he can't do a Solich record, he did not upgrade recruiting....
  8. The Gay Pride rainbow is modeled after Kansas football uniform colors.... Well, it was not our uniform that made SI's 10 worst list. those All Red lovelies you wore, on the other hand, did. See numero 8.... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.1.html Here is one of us in our Reds, I think it looks better for some reason... http://www2.kusports.com/photos/galleries/...pictures/38775/ Best of luck next year though, and I must say your new Unis are pretty cool, as is the logo....
  9. OK, they are a bit delusional, but I think it is fair to say Snyder was a great coach. Considering where that program started, and what they had to work with, he did pretty darn well. Were they Nebraska, No. Were they at some uber-lofty height, not quite. They did contend for a national title and win a lot of games over a sustained period. I think to say Snyder was a bad coach is very unfair. He did one of the best coaching jobs if one looks at the progress and situation that has been done anywhere, I am not sure many coaches could have gotten a lot more out of that program. I do not like K-State, I do not root for them, but it is what it is.... As for Cy's prediction on KU, I bet he was making it all last year too. Not gonna start that fight over, but I tell you this, I am ready for the "I am wrong" statement come December when we have another nice season (9-3 is my call, but we will see). I figure I should be hearing from Cy at 8-4 or better, since he says 6-6 or worse. If we do not have a winning record, a "CY is right, I am WRONG" post is coming. I also own and Iowa State hat, I will wear it in honor of Cy (I actually like Iowa State, they do try) if I lose the bet. We can talk all we want, proof will be coming in the pudding....
  10. 7-5... Maybe 8-4. You have talent, and a brand new staff. The nice thing for the red is that with the talent, you could do better than my prediction for sure, but I do not see it happening in year 1, sorry....
  11. I guess the constant red is making some a bit obsessed with being a commie? Now John Lennon and a world of no possessions. In fairness, though, some of those guys like Stalin would probably been good linebackers. He was not a nice man... at all... Oh, and Red on Red would make you look like Iowa State, and sorry Cy, but it looks gay...
  12. almost? He got a his ass kicked. I thought he had 45% of the vote and his opponent 49% (didn't he lose in the primary?) , that is pretty close if that is right....
  13. I vote GoBigRd G0B1gRd B1g Red Bi9 Red
  14. THought he was a bad hire, losing the Raiders after going to a Superbowl and what I heard come out of that situation made me think he was an ass who did not know how to treat people. TUrned out, he was.... (and he ditched the option, which I am bitter about to this DAY)
  15. The two best "classic unis" in football are Nebraska and Penn State (although didn't callahan mess with the unis too, besides the color). ANyway, Penn State has an all white uni that is sweet and not lame at all. I am not sure why you all do not like your all whites so much. The Red shirt with the white pants is Awesome, the reverse is fine, the all whites are pretty cool. Just no Black please, SOOOOOO many schools that are desperate toss that one out (black or darkening their color, as we Jayhawks did under the now discarded wisdom off Nike), don't do it, have your pride....
  16. No they weren't kidding. This thread was started by a Jayhawk fan, and the last option was voted on by a Buffalo. We welcome everyone here, the good ones anyway. Why wouldn't they want Callahan to stay? Also there still are a select few Husker fans who have the thought that Callahan could have done great things here had he fired Cosgrove, woulda coulda shoulda. Oh yes, thanks for pointing that out. Just for the record, I was suprised some people did not pick Tom Osborne. The man his held with such reverence in the Husker community, I thought he would get more votes than 1. I asked my question straight up, and I never liked Callahan, I would argue with KC Huskers who kept speaking of the need to jettison the old to move forward with a modern system I was the one arguing the current could work pretty darn well (the current being Solich and Osborne at the time) and that the west coast offense may never be the best system in Lincoln Nebraska. No one picked the best option as having Osborne be the coach, I was just suprised people did not think he could do as well as BO. He may not want to, but I thought more people would say he was the best possible coaching option.... T.O. is loved. T.O. is 735 years old. T.O. would throw his whole body at the task at hand... but Nancy O. would 'kill him', or he would have his re-built heart instruct him otherwise - and he would soon be our 'dead' interim head coach. We'll be just fine with BO. That is fair enough, but I thought somone besides me would think he is a best choice. He is 70, just stopped serving in congress a little over a year ago and was almost governor. I would say football coach is a harder job on ones health (due to workload) anyway, than most political jobs, but I thought SOMEONE would vote for him over Bo (besides me). I know he is loved, that is why I thought some people would name him the best choice... Oh well, to each their own. I was just surprised is all..

  18. Very Funny.... With a tinge of Cyclone Self Loathing, but to each their own.
  19. I really am not sure if Bo would be better than Dr. Tom. Osborne is obviously the proven coach, but times have changed a lot and this is a different age. Just curious what the Big Red faithful think... (Ditka vs. a Hurricane.... hahaha Ditka.....)
  20. or put KU on them! That would rule. Then one team dressed as KU would be guaranteed SWEET VICTORY. OK, that is a good example of the proposal. You could even say "This whole N thing isn't working out, lets get an H for Huskers and use that, or B for Blackshirts, but just for the defense, because Alabamee has a different number for each guy, I know, put each Husker players nickname on the helmet, and in black"... I changed my mind. I vote for Rain like CY. Then the yellow slickers will make you look like ISU.... The more you change you unis, the more you appear to lose. Don't believe me, check out the helmet project. http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/ Teams that are consistent winners don't change em much. Teams that are not, do. You can even use it to tell when a team was doing well and when it wasn't, well, roughly anyway. It is not true without fail, but it seems the correlation is very strong. So change em up, add teal, slap a wildcat on em, K-State has been wearing black of late... So far it is just the basketball team, but Scary Smart cannot be far behind. Can't dog Mizzou, Colorado and Tech, as it is their school color they are wearing...
  21. If you really want to ruin your unis, get Nike to "design" them. Then you can be Oregon or BYU...
  22. Red is the iconic color of NU. Black is not even a real color for the team, except for the defense. Shirt changing ain't happening, people aren't doin it..... I think I remember your baketball team wearing black, but they are pretty tradtion free and were trying to genderate some excitement. If the football team in Nebraska needs to wear a non school color to get fired up or get fan support (they don't), then KU is in better shape than I even hope.... I do understand owning non red NU shirts, but I do not understand wearing them to the game...
  23. fo' shizzle! KU fans are starting to sound like sCUm and Mizzou fans... one winning season and suddenly they are untouchable... cant wait to get those bass terds in Lincoln, we are going to have them... Prison Sex Style. Sweet. I like it rough. Well, I think my two compadres are a bit on the oppostie ends. I could definitely see us lose some games, but the team really has been steadily getting better and I think a lot of people did not recognize that, but that is a dead topic. As for the Prison Sex, just tell me where and when, no one wants to miss that action. Best of luck next year!
  24. Asking a Nebraska fan if anything is more important than football is like asking a an alchoholic if he would like another drink... Not to mention this is the Husker FOOTBALL board. Just sayin... I think Florida and Ohio State definitively proved you can have both. That said, both schools who have done it are football schools, if that makes you guys feel better. I think it is a LOT easier to build a competitive Basketball Program than a football one. I also think that outside of KU, the North has been weak in Basketball for a long while, so that means opportunity. If you can compete as a top half team for long enough, better recruits can come, and 2 or 3 guys can make a whole basketball team. K-State showed that, getting 3rd with Beasly...
  25. You're right...Mussolini was like that too... Of course, when Mussolini failed, he was murdered and his corpse was drug through the street. I am not sure BC was there yet, but he and Cosgrove were on the path (mostly joking, but BR fans were PISSED). If I were Callahan, I would not say much. A team with Nebraska's talanet should not win 5 games 4 years into the mission. He only won 5 games in year one and they stuck with him (I was bitter, but I loved old school Husker Option football combined with hard nose defense, so I felt vinidicated in my bitterness). Anyway, Ironically, he never matched the 10 win season that Solich got fired for. I think, in Hindsight, Solich's firing was a bigger error than the Callahan hiring in a lot of ways. Solich getting canned after winning 10 had to scare a lot of the other options off... Pederson deserved his canning every bit as much, if not more, than BC and Cosgrvoe (OK, maybe not more than Cosgrove). IS there ANY chance the option wil come back? I have ranted on this message board before, I think it would stil work. THe wishbone may not, but the Big Red won pretty recently with that system and it matched well with the talent the could reliably get.... That is a lot of titles and title games to be dismissing it....
