  1. Gents, has to be Barry. I got no horse in the race, but please, for the love of football.... If you honestly think Mike ROzier is even a choice, you are drinking the Kool-aid. HE was great and all, but BARRY SANDERS, he was not....
  2. Dude...check the thread! I gave you a more complete and well thought out opinion than your mother would give you! A) I explained...in detail...complete with week by week analysis, my opinion of how I thought KU and ISU would fare against their respective opponents in 2008. B) I explained...again in great detail...why, in my opinion, your comparison between Allen and Mangino was inaccurate C) I explained...in detail...why I thought KU's 2007 football season was a fluke and why I thought, again in my opinion, that it would not be duplicated. For every arguement you made, I had an equally objective counter-arguement. For every point, a counter point. Sorry dude but short of me saying "All Hail Mighty Kansas...the greatest football dynasty in the country" (which I am NOT going to do by the way) we're just going to have to agree to disagree and wait till the season starts to sort it out. If KU pulls another great season out of Mangino's butt, I'll be the first one to say "Whoopie for Kansas"...but don't hold your breath cuz it ain't gonna happen. Well, you did make very well thought out counter arguments, except for the glaring omission of how you explain my point that Kansas started as a mediocre program under Allen, went to Awful, and how Mangino has more than reversed that. I agree you broke down 2008, and, as you say, it is only opinion. So I do not think you have answered my point, but I will let it go if you feel you have, as it is belabored enough as it is... So, you will come on here and Post after KU wins 8 games and admit the Jayhawk was right, I will do the same if we win 7 or less? Also, you saying all hail Kansas would be sweet. put that in the post when I win.... I am not going to hate on ISU just because you are hating on the Jayhawks, I would pick them for 6-6 or maybe 7-5 if things go well. You guys have OK talent, but I wouldn't trade my man. You are going to wave bye to us, but even after you won 2 nice games at the end of last year we beat you 45-7 (up from 41-10 the year before, see, improvement). I think some of the beatdowns Kansas laid out this year would make you think we were good, but to each there own. I do not remember sitting in the stands as a kid and watching the Huskers beat us down, as they did most of their opponents and not give them any credit. But it is in Ames this year, so maybe it will be more difficult. If we win, it will be 4 years in a row. That would make our crappy coach 5-2 against you guys, maybe THEN he would be good. Allen was 2-3 against you all, maybe now I see why you like him, he also did not ruin your Big 12 North title chance, hmmm, hmmmm.... (Sorry for that, I would have loved for you guys to win that title, you really do have great fans who stick by the team, but it made my point so I went with it) I pick Nebraska for 7 wins, 8 if things go well. The issue with picking the Huskers is they do have a LOT of talent, and so it is hard to know if they can get more out of these kids, as one would think the talent is there to do something.
  3. I thought he looked great against the Jayhawks. Was that his first game as the starter? I seem to remember it being his first, but am not sure...
  4. Wow, that was some serious feelings of time I will NEVER get back to spend on something else...
  5. The uni's in your avatar pic are pretty hidious looking. When did they start going with the blue helmets and red jerseys? I think thats from the bowl game against Va Tech. Also, jayhawk, there is nothing wrong with blue and red, its just blue and red together. Give Mangino a red nose and they could be called the Kansas Fighting Clowns. OK, Bozo is funny. I just saying, it is also the colors of the US national team. I like the red unis, we have worn them for a few years now. We have never lost in them either. You would not see them against Nebraska or Iowa State, we only wear them in games where the opponent does not have red in their colors (at least so far). We usually wear Blue. Ole Miss does something similar, I think it is rather fun. The basket ball team had a yellow uniform that they used. Normally KU only uses Yellow on the actual Jayhawk. Yellow with Red trim is gaudy, they got rid of those Unis quick, they are not so popular (and quite ugly). Not to mention Yellow is really not a color for us....
  6. CY, You make my point for me. When Mangino got to Kansas, they were awful. Everyone seems to forget Kansas finished in the top 10 in the early 90's, then we went from decent to AWFUL. Allen rode us down that slope. We had talent for Allen to coach when he arrived, and got worse each year. Mangino has taken us the opposite way, they are saying 2 Jayhawks may go in the first 2 rounds, so I am not sure about your earlier comment about his recruiting. We are not going to Out-recruit on 5 stars, we don't have the right mix of benefits to compete there. We may have a chance to in another 5 years, but that remains to be seen and is a long way off, if it happens at all. You are right the bowl team in year 2 was not really that good, it wasn't They had a pretty mediorce team. My point is that they are getting better each year under Mangino. A look at the details shows that. They got worse under each year of Allen. If Mason had not bailed to Georgia, unbailed, then bailed to Minnesota the next year (which really hurt in recruiting and reputation), we would have been much better off. I am not talking down to anyone and all this talk of how us "Kansas fans" are talking down to people is ridiculous. We really were a good team this year, and having everyone disparage us when we played really well is frustrating. We beat a lot of good teams, we played well, and if you do not like it the face of the evidence, that is your deal. Check my posts, i have not exactly declared us a football power, I think I predicted 9-3 as most likely and then 8-4, then maybe 10-2. I think we will have to see what 2 guys leaving early does to us, as they were good, but we return most of our team. We do have a tougher scedhule this year, one of the toughest you can get. Our south teams are UT, OU and TT. That is rough, and OU and UT have a ton of talent. I do remember ISU won a lot, I also rmemeber you guys fired the guy who delivered it. Guess you all are miffed, but that is your deal. I am not patronizing anyone, I am just saying those who say KU was not really very good are wrong. We proved it on the field. I am also saying we will be pretty good for the next two years, winning 8 or more games and hopefully laying a foundation for success (barring Mangino dying from a heart attack, which I am not saying to be funny). The issue, as I see it, is you do not want to give Mangino credit. You also then assign your anger at our success to "KU fans". I thought my arguments were pretty well reasoned out, you keep going back to overall averages and these claims you reference that I do not make. I am saying we trended bad under Allen, good under Mangino. Can you address that point? I happen to like the Cornhuskers, and enjoy my visits to Ames and my interactions with Cyclone fans as well. I am not bagging on anyone, but have the right to a well thought out opinion without being told I am patronizing people or do not know college football, because you do not want to hear me. P.S. Blue and Red is putrid? It is the color of our national teams, but whatever, that is your personal view I guess.
  7. Just to be fair to your comment, if we hired Callahan, we would probably not be nearly as good. Mangino is better than he is. Now we still would be better than we were under Terry Allen, because we were AWFUL. You all are not happy with 6-6, but after Terry Allen, we would have been. Callahan would have had more time to build, because KU would have taken any signs of success. In the end, he is an average coach at best and NO WAY should he have a job like Nebraska, which is a great job for a coach to have if he wants a good chance at winning titles. Mangino built Kansas himself, and he runs it his way, and he deserves a lot of credit. WInning an Orange Bowl is so special, we have never accompliched so much in our almost 120 years of football, so that is an accomplishment to be recognized. As for Big Red, Tradition and fan support do not go on the field and play, but they help a lot in recruiting and on game day and they tend to help perpetuate success. I am not sure you will win as much as you think, but there is a lot more talent then most teams coming off a bad season with a new coach, and this new coach has a history, so we will see. I think if you have a winning record next year, considering all the change and how good your oppostion has become, it would be an ok start. Look at us! We have a one year winning streak! We are teh football experts! Woot!.... I would gladly put my knowledge of College Football up against yours Cyclone... Just because my team is not traditional power has nothing to do with my personal knowledge of College Football. I did not just start showing up this year to games, I was at 11 games in person for the Hawks and I can assure you the tickets for all but the Bowl game were bought this summer before I had any idea that we would be that good. It is a compliment, in a way, though. If you can't make an intelligent comment on my ideas, just start throwing ignorant insults that are independent of my content. I also have followed Nebraska for a long time, so maybe you could help me out with a comment on my analysis or where I have said something untrue or unbalanced... First of all...this article says much better than I about the true situation regarding your wunderkind coach: It must be said that Mangino did an excellent job this past year. He over-achieved for his talent level, and that's always a credit to the coaches. That said, however, one year does not a legend make. Nystrom continues: One other thing about him: his trophy case now features the 2007 Big 12 Coach of the Year award along with eight separate National Coach of the Year awards. Plus, he won an Orange Bowl at the University of Kansas, for crying out loud. Here are some minor details that Nystrom leaves out: You know those "eight separate National Coach of the Year awards"? Yeah, they're all from 2007. Mangino has been at Kansas for six seasons. Before this year, Mangino had only once broken .500 (going 7-5 in 2005). He had never had a winning season in conference play. In fact, he'd never done better than 3-5 in conference before this year. He had never ended the season ranked. Coming into the season, Mangino was 25-35 all time at Kansas and if he had lost the bowl game, he'd still have a losing record with the Jayhawks. Even after this year he's still 18-30 in conference play. (Which means that it will take him a minimum of two more years to get into the black there) Nystrom also lays out another argument against Mangino pretty well: "He won the Orange Bowl with a roster full of one-, two- and three-stars." In six years of coaching at Kansas, the man has been unable to lure the four- and five-star athletes that his conference competitors have. He does, obviously, coach them well, but coaching is only half of the college battle. You just can't win consistently (that's the key word) with poor recruits. The harsh truth of the matter is this: 2007 was a spectacular year for Mangino which followed five miserable years as a bottom-dweller in the Big 12. He's got a few years to go before anyone's beating down his door, and if he doesn't parlay this national prominence into some highly regarded recruits, no major program will ever want him: if you can't recruit when you're winning, you can't recruit period. Now lets reflect on your opinion of Terry Allen's coaching prowess as compared to Mangino... Let's see...Allen as a head coach with Kansas and UNI compiled a overall record of 95 & 59. Mangino has a head coaching record of 37 & 36. Allen, in his five years at KU compiled a record of 20 wins - 33 loses. Mangino in his first five years at KU compiled a record of 24 wins - 34 loses. Hmmm...oddly similar for a fantastic coach and an AWFUL one. Well...maybe conference records will be the telling difference. Allen in his five years had a conference record of 10 - 30. Mangino in his first five years had a conference record of 11 - 29....again, hmmmm...Maybe if Allen could have had one more year to coach he too could have gone to the Orange Bowl because, other than the fluke 2007 year, there ain't a dimes worth of difference between the two of them. Now...is Mangino a better coach than Callahan? Hard to prove or disprove that though Callahan did bring in higher ranked recruits than Mangino did and never ran counter to the ethics of the NCAA through academic fraud as happened on Mangino's watch. Looking at the records I'd have to say they are both about even as far as results go...it's just that Nebraska expects more from their football program than KU does apparently. I'll be glad to pit my football knowledge against yours...but you'll probably need to bring some friends to help you out. OK big boy, let us look at your brilliant and ill informed insight. You can easily make stats say things they don't in the macro. Lets look at the details of what makes Mangino better, since you brought it up. Terry Allen was brought in to a much better situation than Mangino. Two years before Allen, the Jayhawk finished in the top ten. Tery Allen did not inherit a complete turd. He was a decent X-Os guy, and Glen Mason was not super strong in that departmenr (being more aof a recruiter), so he had on OK situation to walk into. Lets look at the trends Under Allen Year 1: 5 wins Year 2: 4 wins Year 3: 5 wins Yaar 4: 4 wins Year 5: 3 wins (and Allen was fired by the time the 3rd win happened in the last game) By the last year, we beat Tech, Wyoming (sans TA) and SW Missouri State. We got blown out by Iowa State (the shame of it), Texas, Nebraska, K-State, and OU in conference. We lost those 5 conference games by an AVERAGE of 41.4 points. We were not only not competitive with the majority of the conference when he left, but we only beat 1-AA SW Missouri 24-10. Our team had dropped in talent by a lot. Now lets look at Mangino. To say the cupboard was bare was very accurate. The team he had, after the Allen years, was not even competitive anymore. He had to rebuild from scratch. Year 1: 2 wins and still blown out by Iowa State Year 2: 6 wins and a BOWL appearance (thanks to our JUCO QB, we had 1 player, but he was good at least) Year 3: 4 wins (our Juco QB gone, but still almost beat Vince Young's Texas team and lost 6 games by 6 or less and to CU by 9 We were competitive, don't see that in the W/L column, but see 3 years before for a contrast under Allen, plus beat K-State for the first time since 992) Yaar 4: 7 wins and a BOWL Victoy, plus ended Nebraska Streak. Year 5: 6 wins, beat K-State Again, other than MU game (which was bad, the losses were by 5 points a game. 2 nd time in a row we gave Nebraska a good game in Lincoln, not easy to do (both 7 points or less) Year 6: 12 wins, BCS BOWL win. The team had been competing better for a long time, this year they put it together. Do not beleive me, go look at the scores.... So you can use you data how you want, but looks to me like Allen took middle quality Big 12 team, KU was at as high a point as they had been for a long time, and drove them into the basement. Mangino got a cellar team, and drove them back to a solid competitive team. The devil is in the detail, which you seemed to gloss right over, CY...

  10. See why cant more people who come on this board from another fanbase and say something respectable like that, and i dont underestimate kansas, i have just marked it as a win, cause I hope for it and beleive peleni can do it, but good luck with your season, and its about time the north becomes a power KU lost several coaches...I think that is going to hurt them, probably more than Nebraska losing the majority of it's coaching staff. They do have a lot of good returning players though. And with them doing well last year, it was probably easier to recruit. Should be a good game this year. But our new Defensive coordinator is an internal hire and will probably stick to what Young has been doing, as he learned under him. Not to say he will duplicate Bill Young, I can only hope. I am not saying that losing Young is not a loss, but Nebraska is changing systems, not just getting rid of an ineffective and unloved staff. I think Dan Hawkins is an able and proven coach, but look how tough it has been to change out in Boulder. The talent, and coach Hawkins, was not as bad as that team's record in 2006. Granted that was a huge change, but changing the offense and the defense and the staff, it is hard to leap ahead quickly. Maybe you will, but generally teams do not...
  11. Just thought I should make some quick points. People are citing Manginos overall record, which is ridiculous. The team he took over was awful. No one, Tom Osborne included, could have done much with those guys. They were not good. Also, all this talk of KU geting whipped in Lincoln. Some of you guys need to put down the red glasses for a second. The last two times KU went to Lincoln, and this was 2004 and 2006, teams most of you are giving no credit to, we lost by 6 and 7. We were in both games until the end. This is the best team we have brought up in a while and teams under new head coaches are famous for being unpredicatble. I am not declaring a victory, but I would bet if Vegas had to lay odds today, KU would be a very slim favorite. Maybe by 3. No glasses here, I just watch the games and we have played you boys well for 4 years now, including 2 close losses in Lincoln. I think writing that up as a win is a bit premature. Also, our scheudle. No question it was not great, but you all dismiss it so readily... Beating A&M at Kyle field was no small feat, as we were the only team to do it. Texas and Oklahoma State could not. Other than KU, A&M won all their other home games... Colorado, on the road, was a tough game. They beat OU in Boulder and went to a Bowl. I think they were a nice road win. Oklahoma State, on the road, was ot bad either. They also went bowling. A solid win against a fired up team. K-State - Yeah, they melted down later. That was after they lost to us. They had just beat UT on the road. They are a rival and they HATE us. Its not an easy game. Those are decent games. Throw in Central michigan, who played Purdue great in a Bowl game and won the MAC again. Should we have beaten them... yeah. Should we have beaten them 52-7 with backups playing the entire 4th quarter... well, that is a solid win. I know our schedule could be harder, but we did well with what we did have. Beating Va Tech was no joke. I have no idea how you can call them pretenders, they won the ACC and a lot of people thought they should have been in the title game. They were a solid win. I think 9-3 would be about what I would expect this year. I could see lots of things happening, next most likely is probably 8-4 then 10-2. I do think we will beat you in Lincoln. I think people should be happy if the Huskers have a winning season. A new Staff usually means a slow start. I think they are a good staff and Nebraska will be back. I am not so sure about in one season, but best of luck. I would bet a decent year this year, a better one next (with Kansas winning the North Next year, but not this one, as I think Mizzou will take it) and then you will be pretty tough, assuming the rebuilding has gone as planned. Huskers have a lot of inherent advantages with the built up tradition, stadium, etc. I would think it will be enough momentum to carry you back. Oh, and last fact, KU has been playing football since 1890 too, someone cited that, and our series with the Huskers is like the 4th longest continuous series in College Football. We have produced some decent players (Sayers, Riggins, etc.) , we just have not been Nebraska, which is not a crime. I can tell you your traditions help a lot, but in the end, I would not underestimate Kansas... These kids were told all last year about how unprecedented they were... They did not care. Nebraskans, of all people, should agree with Eisenhower (a Kansan ) in his quote "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in he dog" Your once proud Walk on program was a testament to that, but do not dismiss that other teams can have heart. History is nice, but the field is the same size for both teams, we all get 11 guys, and coaches and players win games. KU is gonna give you a fight. I think the doubters, who called them out weekly all year and in spite of everything they accomplished, would have learned that by now. Best of luck next year and with your new staff, I wish you all a great season (minus one game).
  12. Another Youngstown boy, this is interesting especially the Stoops/Pelini article. A recievers coach, coaching our runningbacks, sounds like lucky will be a perfect fit next year. Pretty impressive resume, and looks like a perfect fit... What exactly is it about his resume that impresses you? His glorious 3 year stint as Offensive Coordinator at Missouri State? Oh wait, or his linebackers position at Illinois State? I don't know, I might sound condescending, but I think we could've found a full-fledged Running Backs coach. Maybe the Orange Bowl on the Resume and the Talent he managed to Bring in to Lawrence from Texas was the clincher. We have never won a major bowl like that, so I am sort of thinking he rules and am sad to see him leave. If you all don't want him, send him back south.
  13. Thanks for the support. We have put up with a lot of bad teams. I know that Mangino gets a lot of flak for his size, but he has built a hard working team that plays hard and they have been way more fun to watch and way more competitive for years now and this season it is all going right for us so far. Best of luck with your new coach, whoever that may be...
  14. I gotta agree with CY on one thing, Cyclone fans are nice. I am not sure why they show so much support, or fired their coach when he had them as good as they ever were, but they are nice and support well considering the only football titles the ever won were in 1911 and 1912, and that was cochamps of the missouri valley. Oww. Gotta give it to em, they are good fans. Not quite as impressive as Big Red or the Aggies, but nice in their own way. I don't think anyone is tearing down any goalposts this game, that would not seem right for either team. Nebraska is not going to be happy because they want their coach gone and this season to end, and KU is favored by 20, so winning should be expected, Red N or not...
  15. Tacos are good. Nebraska will be too, if the return to what made them good (firing the staff is step A, but that is a belabored point) Sorry gents, but I'm gonna let the sun shine on my tail. I just hope we don't lose Mangino to some other school, becasue I think he has built a strong and entertaining team in Lawrence... I knew we were coming up, I did not expect it to get this bad in Lincoln. Anyways, Good luck.,,
  16. Don't see it... Sorry to disagree with the Oracle, but if I had to rate the final games from LEAST liekly to win to most LEAST likely for Huskers to win 1.Texas 2. Kansas 3. Kansas State (at home, only home game left, it could help, but K-State is good) 4. Colorado (on road, but hatred is a POWERFUL thing to get a team up. By then, sick of losing, still with some good talent and wanting to have something positive, I go with this one as most) MOST likely for Huskers to win Won't make much difference. This year is pretty much shot and if you get 2 more wins it is going to be a surprise to vegas. At 6-6 and with how things ahave gone, bowling is pretty unlikely. I am ready for Osborne to bring back the old school, the soul of Nebraska, the Blackshirts and an Option. Then, all will be right again and we can quit pretending Nebraska has the Pacific Ocean next to it and move things back to Central time!!! And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. So now maybe Osborne puts it straight. Would be nice to see a strong north AND a strong Nebraska...
  17. Sorry to be a contrary Jayhawk, but unlike my brethren above, I fear a loss. I think you may have a better chance against the Hawks, even though I like our chances, because your team thinks it can win. I have a hard time thinking this is a Husker week. Never the less, best of luck...
  18. Thanks for the comments, but you're a bit off IMO. I respect you differ, but please tell me how. Which point is wrong * Using a system that maximizes the effectiveness of the in state talent * Using the Option, which has gotten you to a national title game this decade (2001) * Sticking with the system that, even under Solich managed to be 59-19, with a National title game, 2 BCS bowls, and a bowl game every year (most good ones) I understand system changes mean pain. Mangino, Bill Snyder, Hawkins, even Stoops did not go gangbuster year one. That said, Callahan had a lot to work with and he messed it up. Partly, it is because he is not using what he has very effectively. You will never beat USC and Florida at their game. You Won't. That talent seems to largely come from those states and fits their weather. You will get some good kids, but I think there is a reason your team is not winning. Nebraska is not gonna win with a finesse team. It could get better than this, but your brand equity is gonna get all shot to heck and that equity attracted some good players who delivered results. My Jayhawks will try whatever works, cause we have to build our equity from scratch. We have had a few great players and a couple great teasm, but we are not a great program. I would stop squandering Nebraska's mojo if I had any say, you guys were great recently and that can come and go fairly quickly... And one more thought, why does everyone care so much about consulting with Tom if his system is outmoded and not useful? I would say because it is not, and should be used, but I am a lonely voice on that...

  20. This article is RIGHT On http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/messages/chrono/4324259 Just to make a quick point. I have been on this board, now for my third year, and all of my scant posts say Nebraska should not have gone west coast and stayed to the run and the option. I pointed out that very recently you made it to a title game wiht that offense, but just did not have the defense to match. Ihave many Nebraska fans who agreed with this wave of the future, lets be a Pac-10 school crap. I am not saying it cannot be fine, but if you want to be Big Red, something better and defined, that article from you mad Husker is spot on. You all need to go get someone to lead this team who is ready to restore what made you great, not be the flavor of the month. Fun and gun ain't new, just Nebraska getting whipped by teams running it is new. You all need to go back to kicking people's tails and not bring in any coach who is just gonna try to be California of the plains... Slam em in the mnouth till the end. It worked pretty well and could work again... (one mistake though Neil Smith and Will Shields, Chiefs and Huskers, were great pros) Jayhawk out
  21. Not to be overly technical, but I have been on this board, albeit infrequently, for about 2 years longer, making you the name snatcher (kind of). That said, as it is our mighty Jayhawk we share, there is enough for all. There are a lot of people freaking out on here with talk of ending the sellout streak? What is that about? Callahan will eventually get fired if he keeps sucking, why screw up the other things you got going for you? I say let the frantic people leave and the majority of the good Big Red fans fill in behind. Huskers ain't dead, they are just on a hiatus. Rock Chalk!
  22. I think it is farily normal for KU and Nebraska fans to have a low animosity level. KU is traditionally good at Basketball, Nebraska is not. Nebraska is traditionally good at football, Kansas it not. Both run first class programs, but it is mostly been focused on their traditional strengths. The fans (when it comes to each schools traditional strength) are knowledgable, they travel well, they are very loud and they are relatively classy. Nebraska fans give opponents who play well standing ovations even... Anyways, not to get to lovey with the opposition, but it is not a natural rivalry other than the fact that we are neighbors (but so is the whole Big 12 North pretty much). I spent a lot of time as a kid, when KU was done in football, rooting for Nebraska to take on all for the Big 8. Hard to root for Oklahoma, they really did show up in Lawrence and their crowd had a rowdier edge and there would be fights and all that. Nebraska brought more fans and less trouble. Eveyone has a few bad fans, but in all Big Red is top class.. Good luck with the rest of the year, I do hope you go old school and bring back the option, cause I loved watching Tommy Frazier runing over Florida Laughing as he went down the field... As for how things are in Lawrence, we are pumped up about our Hawks. I have been going to KU games for almost 30 years with my dad and now with my kids too. I am actually more of a football fan, and it is fun to have a chance at winning something. Football is a rough sport to watch when you are physically outclassed, and so I have seen some tough ones. Mangino seems to have really built us something fun to watch! Rock Chalk!
  23. Now, after seing that, I can't sleep. There are some images people do not need to see. I am afraid that is one.
  24. Yeah, it looked ugly at first for the Jayhawks, I was wondering if too many people from last year left when we graduated a huge portion of our best players. They got it together and it was a fun game, I was having a good time watching it. I obviously would have had more fun if we had won, but after that start, we showed we had heart and fight. I thought we played a great game after the first 5 minutes, can't say i was thrilled, but KU has nothing to be ashamed of for losing in Lincoln in Overtime.
  25. I showed up last year on this board after a lot of Husker fans thought we (the Jayhawks) were still the little sisters of the poor. You all made some great big plays, and got it done in overtime, this time, so congrat to you all. I would like to point out, that is three strong games in a row from Kansas, and two in Loncoln. I hope someday I stop by and see that people don't get mad for barely beating KU. These boy under Mangino missed the memo they are supposed to suck. Other than a pasting from Texas last year, we have been competitive in pretty much every game we have been in for 3 years now. Should be a great game in Lawrence next year! You all had a great start and made plays to stay in it. 3 bombs and an 8 yard drive made for interesting offense. Adam Barman played WAY better than he did last week, and that is by far the best offense that has shown up (everyone else just put 8 and 9 in the box, because our freshman QB, Meier, was an interception machine). You all represented, as always, with your fans. If that game was in Lawrence, I think we woulda won. You Husker fans should be proud at the environment you create, it's an awesome thing. I think it sure made a HUGE difference tongiht. Best of luck the rest of the year. Classy program and the best board to visit.
