  1. Kyle was at UCLA yesterday. I think we're just hoping he doesn't commit to there or Wake before his planned visit here this weekend.
  2. Pretty sure they are eating the operational costs. Or at least it says on the 1890 website they are: 1890’s operational costs are fully funded by Tom and Shawn Peed (including all expenses related to team salaries, office space, marketing, advertising, and more) so supporters can rest assured that 100% of their contributions will go directly to Nebraska student-athletes. https://www.1890nebraska.com/about-us/
  3. Guessing it was either Essegian or Hausen as they seem to be redundant players. Sounds like the ship has sailed on Fidler. Now its down to Kyle/Milicic. If we start hearing about new big targets this week it is probably a bad sign for those 2. Players that are N PF/C Andrew Morgan Sr NDSU PG Rollie Worster Sr Utah SG/SF Gavin Griffiths So Rutgers SG Connor Essegian Jr Wisconsin Players we are after PF William Kyle Jr South Dakota St C Igor Milicic Sr Charlotte Lost interest SF Frankie Fidler Sr Omaha PF/C Pharrel Payne Jr Minnesota C Malique Ewin Jr JUCO/Ole Miss SG Brendan Hausen Jr Villanova Targets that have gone elsewhere SG Connor Hickman Sr Bradley -> Cincinnati PF John Hugley Sr Oklahoma -> Xavier SF Joshua Ola-Joseph Jr Minnesota -> Cal Former Huskers Jamarques Lawrence Jr -> Rhode Island Matar Diop So -> Loyola Marymount Eli Rice So -> Penn St CJ Wilcher Sr Blaise Keita Jr
  4. Now we need a big (or 2) 10/13 scholarships filled Seniors (6): Gary, Mast, Ulis, Williams, Morgan, Worster Juniors (1): Essegian Sophomores (1): Griffiths Freshmen (2): Frager, Janowski *Hoiberg is a junior walk-on
  5. Assuming this means good news regarding Essegian
  6. Yes, I know the 1st down rule changed last year. But my points still stands. The 2 minute warning was added in the NFL to give an advantage to a team trying to score at the end of the game by giving them an extra timeout. In college, the clock stopping on 1st downs gives the team trying to score at the end of the game an advantage by giving them extra mini-timeouts. It seems redundant to me to have both.
  7. About time for helmet commination. But we're still going to see coaches sending in signals and those signs with symbols on the sidelines because of the amount of no huddle that CFB teams run. 2 minute warning, whatever. I don't think its needed with clocks stopping for 1st downs. And the powers that be said it won't be adding any commercial time to the games, just shifting around when the commercials happen.
  8. Hints are being dropped that Mazzccua could be on the outs after spring...
  9. 10. Pot Roast recruiting for Fred (I don’t think he’s coming here).
  11. Rumor is Essegian is on campus today.
  12. No Hoiberg team is complete w/o at least one “foreign big man project”. I assume we’re saving our 13th scholarship for one. Yvan Ouedraogo Eduardo Andre Oleg Kojenets Blaise Keita Matar Diop
  13. The context that I took from that is that he isn't expecting anyone to enter the portal before spring practice is over, not that he wasn't expecting anyone to enter the portal at all this spring. It wouldn't surprise me if we lost some OL (21 on scholarship) or DBs (24 on scholarship).
  14. A few updates: Reports are we aren't getting a visit from Pharrel Payne (Minnesota) as expected later this week. We have moved on from Joshua Ola-Joseph (Minnesota). Another new name to follow as of today is Connor Essegian, a junior SG from Wisconsin. Started 19 games as a freshman, then as a sophomore was moved to a bench role and only averaged 8 mins/game. Career 35% shooter from 3. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/connor-essegian-1.html
  15. New target of interest for NU - 6'4" Brendan Hausen SG from Villanova. Career 40% 3 point shooter. Played 18 mins/game last year. Has taken 246 shots over 2 years, with 223 being 3 pointers. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/brendan-hausen-1.html
