Given where we are in the season, I would love to know the percentage of time Alberts is spending talking to prospective candidates vs. the time he is speaking with non-candidates about how they built their programs.

He caught my eye a couple weeks ago. Saw him working with his kids one on one into the final minute of play. No one is perfect, but he apparently prepares his team well and they limit mistakes.

Yes, really. He was incredibly fast as a freshman. He was a bit indecisive at times afterward but I always loved the kid.

I have not seen Martinez run this well since his freshman season in Lincoln. Seems very healthy and confident.

And therein lies at least one problem. A prospective coach loses a game and some board members are ready to write him off.

It’s obvious Meyer isn’t coming, and for many good reasons. And, to be honest, I thought most members on this board had figured out last year that Bob Stoops was not coming either (smh). I have been reading with interest how people think this coach or that coach would be good for whatever reason, only to be shot down due to this or that. To me the reason is pretty simple: aside from the most elite of college programs there is much, much more parity now in college football than there was 20 years or so ago. What I am trying to say is that today’s “upsets” are not as huge as they were back in the day.
