  1. Here we go. This drive will be a killer if they score here.
  2. Penalties continue at the worst times. Big yards too.
  3. Another awful possession. We barely hold the ball for a minute. No time of possession. We should be able to run for a first down each series.
  4. Still losing the kicking/special teams game again! Awful. Field the ball.
  5. Gary Sharp continues his awful play calling on the radio.
  6. Dad gummut! Throw for the first down not the TD.
  7. Penalties adding up again. These penalties are keeping wisconsin in the game. Come on guys. Every time we start to shift the field position some, they blow it with a penalty or something. Kick returns still not getting us any real difference.
  8. Good grief! Defense gives up 30 yards on two simple runs. Now a hail mary to tie? Sheeeeet! Crazy games. Update your heart meds prescriptions. These are wild games.
  9. Clock management by Wisconsin poor on that series. Give us a possession and time.
  10. The playcalling still has a few bummers in there but little better. Still like a few more runs but this is a tough defense. Only given up a few points all year. Tough drive but finally got one in there.
  11. Got to win the special teams. We are just not playing well.
  12. Our offense has died in Big Ten games. We are going to be last in the country in offense and last in defense! Ouch!
  13. Once again, we make a mediocre passer look like a pro passing into the wind after our QB demonstrates we can't complete a pass going into the wind. Not good. This game is going to get away from us by half time if we don't score a TD on this possession. We have to play better than this on offense. Very disappointing. Defense played well enough to win (of course Wisconsin offense is not good and defense is much better but still - we are not agressive).
  14. Ugly part is Wisconsin is burning up the quarter into the wind and gonna score. Awful Need a big play for sure. Int for 6.
  15. Gets old listening to Gary Sharp do the play by play as he gets down and distance wrong so often. He gets the penalties wrong, and never describes the formations, etc. He spews out receivers and the play call is the same on every play almost. They run for 4 yards and he says a short gain. We run for two yards and he acts like it was a big gain. Frustrating over and over.
  16. Give up a 12 play TD drive into the wind. Sucks.
  17. there is no question who the agressor is in this game. We are playing defense even on offense it seems. We are trying not to lose. Wisconsin is playing to win.
  18. Huskers in big trouble boys. The brief battle is going badly and defense starting to fail.
  19. Again, poor game management. Wisconsin easily won the field and the final play of the quarter they use the wind to change the field position so at worst, they will punt us back to 75 yards away again. Why are we not throwing short passes and swing passes and so on? I don't get to watch games on TV of course but it seems like we should be able to complete some throws even with wind to backs and receivers close to the QB and line of scrimmage. Our run game working but of course this won't last unless we can demonstrate a passing game. Why has our passing game died? Tommy lost confidence?
  20. why the hell they throw the ball to guys out of bounds. Stupid. Risk so many bad things to receivers who not eligible? What the hell?
  21. We've seen two coaches canned here because they only won 9 games a year. Now, we'll be content. 9 wins is the ceiling for Riley and co. I see a difference when it comes to the amount of time granted to a coach as between Frank, Callahan, Bo and now Riley for each. Frank inherited the absolute best team and program and talent in college football history. He had everything going for him from fan support, national reputation, talent, recruiting, etc, etc, etc. He had NO excuses whatsoever. He had a very talented experienced staff, facilities, the only show in town and best fans. No excuses. He simply blew it! Callahan came in a difficult situation but was not a good fit personality wise. He was a pro football coach and tried to run the program like a professional team. This was not going to work and would not work even today. He recruited well in many respects but he tended to recruit based solely on 'stars ratings' and some of his elite players were not truly elite talents. His biggest mistake was dumping the walk on program (it didn't fit his pro mentality at all). He didn't realize you need to be rebuilding constantly. You could not simply go out and find a few free agent players as needed. You have to plan ahead and keep the next 5 years' teams in the pipeline. Admittedly he started with very little and his best friend/defensive coordinator failed him. He lost the fans with the dramatic change in attitude, schemes, offensive styles, etc. Too much change too fast! Bo came it with plenty of fan adoration and excitement. He did a number of good things in terms of keeping a minimum of 9 wins so we never really felt we were totally outclassed - talent wise - until the last couple years when the blow outs were becoming self evident and the miracle wins with hail marys and 57 yard field goals were desperately needed to beat teams we had no business allowing to play with us. But all that being said, Bo could have simply kept a good attitude and respected and treated fans with appreciation and given the Husker name and reputation his first priority. He hated the Huskers. He demonstrated his disdain for all things Husker with his rants, ugly language, penalties, etc. We have discussed all this. This was Bo's downfall clearly. He blew it - not so much because he didn't win championships as how he was a loser personally and lost badly too often in addition to recruiting mediocre at best. Every year it gets harder to recruit to Nebraska, new facilities notwithstanding as the competition is tougher, our image and reputation and prestige has been so diminished, etc. Riley has the toughest job of all these coaches in my view. He deserves a chance and some time, no matter how poor our won/loss record is SO LONG AS Riley doesn't act the fool and do awful things to embarrass us nationally on TV. No recruiting or NCAA troubles or obvious unsportsmanlike conduct in the games or badmouthing in TV interviews. He needs to remain professional and decent in all things no matter how good or bad the results are on TV. That gives him more time in my view. He has the biggest job to do of all the recent coaches. Give him a chance. It is not unlimited.
  22. If we win, Nebraska will have one of the biggest days in years! this is a very very very big game for Nebraska football. If we don't win, nobody will have a big day really, no matter what the stats are or who gets them.
