If our defense and special teams have an average game with our offense clicking like it has been in these past few weeks, I say we win by at least a touchdown difference. All we need is for our special teams not to commit mistakes and for our defense to make some stops.

Frost is not pass happy. The offense has a very good balance between pass and run. Sometimes I wonder why we go away from the hot hand but it could be because the player is either tired or has some health-related issue. To be honest, as long as we keep scoring on teams, I could care less how the scores come. If the pass game is working and spielman and Stanley are doing great, then keep passing. If Ozigbo and washington are running effectively then keep running. Interrupting the pass game because the fans like it when we run the ball is plain stupid. Also, passing when the other team can’t seem to be able to stop us is also not smart. I will say this again: I do not understand why we keep talking about the offense when the issue is the defense. Our offense is clicking on all cylinders and we keep the opponents guessing. Our defense is the one that can’t stop anyone.

To be honest, I stopped paying much attention to that. It is someone annoying who has nothing better to do in life. Eventually, he will get tired and stop.

Giving up 383 yards of rushing is not acceptable no matter how much time the defense is on the field. Tell me the last time Alabama or Clemson gave up this much rushing yards? Again, I am not comparing us to them yet and we are probably a couple of years from hopefully being in the playoff conversation but giving up this much rushing yards is a recipe for disaster. In fact, we have not been able to stop any good running back this year.

I do not think anyone is doubting the offense here...the doubts are about our SWISS CHEESE defense.

The fact that Frost tells media: “I am not the one running the defense” whenever he is asked about the defense implies that he is not satisfied with the performance. His body language whenever an opposing running back breaks a huge run through our hole ridden defense says it all. Frost is a competitor and wants to win. He also wants to turn things around here in Nebraska and get us back to the Nebraska of the nineties. Sooner or later he will realize that chinander is not the right man for the job for the BIG. Chinander might have been good for UCF but the BIG needs a good defense if you want to compete regularly against the likes of Ohio state, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. However, I trust that Frost will make the right decision. For now, I am willing to let chinander shows us what he is capable of even though I have a strong feeling that he is not our answer for a strong defense.

I do not understand why people keep defending chinander...I am not saying fire the guy after one season but let us face it, he is not going to bring back the defense we once had. Frost has been able to get the offense clicking. Chinander has put a bandaid on the problem. His defense has more holes than Swiss cheese and we simply can’t stop good running backs. Every decent running back has had a field day when they played us. Wisconsin, which as we see is not that good at all, ran the ball on us with Jonathan Taylor. Today, Illinois had close to 300 yards rushing on us. We can hope that that he gets better and he deserves another year to work his system but I seriously doubt he is the answer for the blackshirt defense. I still have dreams of the Suh defense year where we kept teams at less than 14 points a game. Chinander will not produce those kind of numbers no matter how much time he is given. You just can’t change people like that and that is not his style. We might have to settle for him but he is not the long term solution...not if we ever want to rise to the likes of ALABAMA and CLEMSON.

well, I learned the following, starting with the positive first: (1) We have a very special offense and we can play with the best of them. We can score on anyone. (2) Adrian Martinez is a STUD and he will only get better. He might be our best shot to have another Heisman winner in almost two decades. (3) Spielman and Stanley are NFL caliber receivers and we will be seeing Stanley in the NFL next year. (4) We can actually block a punt...yeah (5) Our defense is horrible against the run...they are really struggling and that has cost us a few games this year. We simply struggle to stop good running backs even when we know they will be carrying the ball. (6) Saying that our kicker is bad is an understatement of the year...WE NEED A DECENT KICKER VERY SOON. (7) Our special teams are still work in progress but they showed some improvements today. (8) We need our defense to show up next week early because if we let Michigan State start quick, it will be hard for us to score on their defense. (9) We still commit too many penalties with some being silly with bad timing. (10) I never thought I would be so happy and hopeful with a 3-7 record but this is the most exciting 3-7 team in the country. Go Big Red!

We need more homegrown talent. No one plays harder and tougher than our own homegrown players. They play like their lives depend on it. Stolenberg is a STUD.

I said, we need him NEXT TWO WEEKS, NOT TODAY..

I am really worried about spielman. We really need this kid to be out there next two weeks.

It is really interesting that we get all our luck playing not so good teams but our luck changes when we play the top ranked teams. All we needed last week to win was one lucky bounce our way, instead God is giving those lucky bounces to us this week all in one game...cmon God, spread them evenly among the rest of the games.

Our defense has finally warmed up. We need them to start quicker next week against Michigan state. We really have a very good chance to win out and may be go to a bowl game. We just need to keep hitting on all cylinders. I hope spielman is Ok.

Now we see how bad of a coach Riley was...the only thing he offered is free ice cream..

We need a decent kicker....it is so obvious that Frost does not trust our kicker to pull through...seeing the two points after, I don’t blame him.

Ozigbo, spielman, Stanley and Martinez are some of the best in the nation. They can compete with anyone. It will be so much fun to see what Martinez can accomplish at Nebraska

You need to be able to call the right plays and see the big picture...chinander can’t do that...he gets saved by the play that some excellent athletes do. In other words, te athletes make him look like a better play caller than he really is. I am sure you have some smart comment on this as well.

Chinander is who he is...he is not the best and he will never be that good...he relies on good athletes and we don’t have that many on defense...with better recruitment, we will be better...our unspecial teams is what really concerns me
