  1. I guess the new pitching coach messed with his release. He said it feels a lot nicer on his arm, and he doesn't feel like he is straining it as much. So lets hope this leads to an even better year for him. At first I was worried, but after seeing we got the sweep without him i can't wait to have him back.
  2. it will definitely sell out, the stadium will be reduced to 53,000 seats because of construction. Last year i believe we had 61,000? Still gonna be a great game.
  3. great game to be at!!! I was 5 feet short of Gorsett's homer, and i was right next to the "fowl pole" when he almost hit the second one. Great game.
  4. Here's why this might not work. Pederson and the other administarters know the type of money that a good mens basketball team can bring in. For them to merely say, "Well, basketball will simply never be as good," will not fly and shouldn't. These are buisness men, who are in the buisness of making money and if there not they should fide something else. Basketball is a huge moneymaker, they simply cannot put everything into it. After they make basketball successful, they will move onto the next sport. I totally agree, they shouldn't just be happy with the sports we have that are successful. If i am not mistaken, mens b-ball and football are the only money making sports at UNL. I don't know why volleyball isn't on the list, but this drop in attendance (at bball games) needs to be addressed. They know the fans are tired of hovering at .500 and losing in the first round (ya finally got one collier!). I just think its too little too late.
  5. Someone should introduce interior defense to the big red. What a crappy finish to the half.
  6. He did everything fo them! That catch, and a cycle! He had such a nice game. I felt so ashamed of our team.
  7. thanks guys, sounds good. Lets see how many we can cram into my dorm room. I'm guessing about 5.
  8. ill probably only be there on friday. Ill be glad to see what we look like, i am so excited! Our new lineup will be interesting to see, and it would be great to take this series. Bama has had some good teams recently, and this is the first SEC team to visit lincoln. I really want to see gorsett hit, i've heard he has some serious pop. GBR!!
  9. Miami does want him as a Center, i heard wrong. Good call Big Willie.
  10. There's different degrees of breaking your leg, and his was about as bad as you can get. Ya i know, i totally agree. My dad was in a motorcycle accident when he was 18 and he was in a full leg cast for 10 months. It then took him awhile to get back to normal. I am not saying it wasn't bad, just that I didn't know it was THAT bad. I am glad he is taking his time, because i would rather have him at 100% then playing hurt. That could end up ruining the rest of his career.
  11. I just can't believe he is still hurting from this. I saw him limping before christmas break. I feel so bad for him, he is probably going crazy.
  12. Sure, same thing my grandma said when we confronted her. Why is it senior citizens can get away with almost anything?
  13. I have finally eclipsed the 100 post mark! It's about time. I think i finally get one of those flag things! I am so happy I stumbled onto this board, and I have really enjoyed the conversations with everyone hear. I like the fact most of us are open to other points of view (contrary to other big 12 boards ive seen). You guys have been awesome, and it has been great to get to know everyone here. The administrators and mods do an awesome job, and i want to say thanks to everyone who came before me. I hope I have said some things of worth in my first 100, because i certainly know i have taken a lot from this site. Thanks again. GBR! Jarred
  14. Very true. I hate to speculate about things like this, and especially when none of us have asked him the truth to what happens in his quest for college. The only thing we really seem to know is that he committed to Miami and that we want him here. Thanks for bringing me down to earth Dave.
  15. I am sure the times or avaliability of tours will change by next fall, especially after the new north end opens up, so be sure you make contact with someone more knowledgable than I on the matter. Im excited for the Texas game too, god i love student ticket prices!
  16. I'm pretty sure i read Miami wants him as a DT. Wasn't that what he worked on down there? I know he would rather play DT and i thought that was a draw for him to go there. Maybe they are entertaining his desires to lure him in. He could still easily be playing in red (not crimson Hack )
  17. werent we his only scholie offer? I think jamel had a huge part in bringing him here.
  18. Ok i have a couple of things. Miami offered him on a monday, we don't evaluate o-lineman until tuesday. This is supposedly why they were behind a day. Another reason miami scored him was because we wanted him as a center, miami wants him as d-tackle. Guess what he would rather play? Yuup. My guess is he saw the beaches and had fun at their camp, got happy and heard he could play d-tackle and committed. Can't say i blame him, but i wouldn't be shocked if he ends up coming here. I hope!! Anyways, remember what craig rourke did? He committed early to Florida state, and then realized what he made the wrong choice and went to home state Oklahoma. Hopfully Gunn follows suit.
  19. I went on one about a month and a half ago. They run sat and sun from 10-2 i believe. They let us through to the heisman room, up to the press box, around to the old weight room, on the field, and down the hall of all-americans. If you are in Lincoln and have nothing else to do and you haven't seen it, then definitely go. If you are here for every home game, its not anything special. It is always fun to go onto the field, but with the construction i don't know what will be open. I can't wait until they open the new North end up. I will definitely go again when that opens.
  20. wow, where did this thread go? Go Taylor! Beck will get his chance.
  21. I heard the worst was USC. The stereotypes of NU are terrible, and i am glad someone stood up for us. I am also so proud that our coaches aren't this way. I like the "if you don't want to be here, we don't need you" mentality. Many recruits choose NU because of the style of John Blake. They see what excitement our coaches have, and want to be part of this team. If NU is all white, then why do i have African-American friends who aren't on the team? Another part of that interview said coaches (i think especially USC) were saying a degree from NU was worth as much as toilet paper. Are we not in the top 50 public academic Universities? I thought we were. Ask our record number of academic all-americans if they got a good job out of college. I HATE NEGATIVE RECRUITING! If your program is so good, why must you hate on other universities?
  22. Hopefully they are correct in their prediciton of Maurice Purify, although i think they underestimated Herian at 4th in the Big 12 and our linebackers kinda got the shaft. No McKeon? Great read, though.
  23. To update on the Vince Young thing, PTI today reported Vince initially scored a 6 or 7 on the Wonderlic the first time, then a 16 when on a retake. I agree this doesn't mean he won't succeed at the pro level, or even that it will hurt his draft status, i just thought it was funny that a college student who is the quarterback of a great academic and football school scored below a 10.
  24. I just visited Texas' message board and some are claiming it is just gossip. Others have heard he actually scored a 6. If anyone hears more credible info, please try and set the record straight. I will as well.
