  1. If he does, Wilcher will have to become a much more consistent 3 point shooter & Lawrence will have to maintain his current rate with more opportunities. Would be nice if Gary & Dawson would become more consistent shooters too.
  2. They went from starting games horribly, to not finishing. At some point they need to play all 40 minutes.
  3. It would be 6:30 there, but 4:30 in Denver.
  4. Why do games at Michigan always seem to start at 5:30 in the middle of the week? Are the fans too drunk to make it to the game if is starts later?
  5. Nebraska is listing everyone as if they are going to take their covid year - except Juwan Gary. Gary played two years at Alabama & now one here, so he could be a third year sophomore, but is listed as a junior. I think it is likely that he sticks around as long as Hoiberg is back. He's not going to the NBA & he can go back to Japan (or Europe) and become a pro anytime he wants.
  6. He works hard on defense, but isn't great. He's kind of small so he gets overpowered at times and is pretty easy to shoot over on close outs on three pointers. He's listed at 6'2', 175, but I'm not sure he's that tall. He was a juco transfer, so this is his fourth year of college (two at the juco, two here). If he uses his covid year, he could come back next year.
  7. Brad Underwood must be really good on his knees.
  8. They lost to them by 26 in Lincoln and in the three games they played without Bandoumel (including Penn State where he only played 7 minutes) they have lost by an average of 15. In the 5 games since Gary was injured they lost by an average of 12 and that includes beating Ohio State. At this point I would be surprised if they won any more games this season other than Minnesota in Lincoln.
  9. In 1988 the limit went from 105 to 95 then in 1993 it went to 85. This was all in the name of competitive balance. All the best teams (including Nebraska) were "hoarding" players and the "bad" teams felt like it was impossible to improve because many good players would rather be on the bench of a good team than start for a bad one (there is still a lot of this). I believe at one point the limit was 120, so the number of scholarships available has been fluid. Title IX will always be a problem, but there are ways around it. Wisconsin currently has 90 women on their rowing team. Does anyone really believe they even have enough boats for everyone to practice?
  10. I think Dawson will be a 3 & D guy eventually. Maybe next year, but probably in two years. Lawrence needs to work on becoming a point guard. 6' 3" shooting guards won't work in the B1G. McPherson supposedly looked great in preseason before he blew out his knee. Probably would have been the backup point. Tominaga is a 40% 3 point shooter & Wilcher was last year, so he should be able to be again. Both should be instant offense off the bench because they are both defensive liabilities. I think Breidenbach could develop into something similar to Walker with the ability to shoot 3's. He needs to work on his handle & become more consistent as a shooter. There have been flashes. Kojenets is still a project. He needs to add at least 30 pounds. Keita looks completely uncomfortable in the role they have him playing. He needs to be a junk yard dog on the boards, but I don't see him ever being an offensive threat. Gary needs to become more consistent as a 3 point shooter, but the defense & rebounding are great.
  11. I know there's still six weeks left in the season, but is it too early to start talking about what is potentially coming back next season?
  12. Without Gary & Bandoumel they have reverted to a team that can't shoot & doesn't play defense. The rest of the season is going to be ugly.
  13. Not a bad choice, but I don't think Hoiberg is getting fired. The team has shown progress this year & with all the injuries, I think he gets one more year.
  14. That sucks! That's three players out for the season with injuries (McPherson, Gary & Bandoumel) + one who has been very limited for awhile (Kieta).
  15. Not just the pass, great catch by Walker.
  16. This could get ugly quickly with both Gary & Greisel out.
  17. Wow, that was a lot of work. Part of the difference has to be that the Big 12 is more of a free-flowing offensive league & the B1G is more defensive minded.
  18. NIT is going to be tough, but I will keep my fingers crossed. They will have to go at least .500 the rest of the way including any B1G tournament game(s). With Gary being injured and probably missing multiple games based on what I saw last night, the defense & rebounding is going suffer.
  19. Yet both teams have 12 fouls. Somehow all of the fouls on NU are shooting fouls.
  20. Need to make Shannon play defense. With the way they are calling fouls, Illinois will be in trouble.
  21. Those are all OK, but the number one thing is that the POS (point of sale) terminals are very out of date and you actually have to hand your card to the concession employee who then swipes it instead of just inserting the card & some of them make you sign the receipt even if it just for a bottle of water. I get they think cashless is safer (it's not when you have to exchange a piece of plastic & possibly a pen) and faster (it's not because of the old equipment and the clerks). The real reason PBA went cashless was to raise prices with out raising them. Pricing used to include tax, but now it doesn't. The $8 hamburger now cost $8 + tax.
  22. Garcia flopped on his fifth foul too.
  23. Hopefully Minnesota doesn't keep shooting 50% in the second half.
  24. Blaise needs to come out of the game. He's been useless.
  25. I didn't watch last night either. I didn't get home until it was halftime & they were down 22. It appears that they played OK the second half, but the last 10-ish minutes of the second first half were ugly based on what I read.
