  1. Those OU teams used 6' 9" Wayman Tisdale as their center so tall isn't as important as athletic. I'm not saying we have anybody on the team as good as Tisdale, but that is more the type of player Hoiberg is looking for. He doesn't need a 7' 2" Rich King type of player.
  2. Watched the show last night. It was nice to get to know the players a bit off the court + put some faces/numbers with the names. Made me wish I had enough money to vacation in Italy.
  3. Like someone said earlier in the thread, it's more of a closed scrimmage. Both teams are allowed to report certain pieces of information like stats & score. It allows the teams to play against someone of similar talent and they can stop the "game" at points to work on specific things (zone offense/defense, press, etc.) in a less structured environment than an actual game.
  4. Sounds about right to me. My best guess is that they go 17-14.
  5. CBS Sports has the Huskers at 115. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/ranking-every-college-basketball-team-from-no-1-to-353-for-2019-20-and-an-interesting-fact-on-every-team/
  6. The home non conference schedule averages 270 with South Dakota State being the best team at 208. The entire NC schedule assuming best case scenarios in the Cayman Islands classic averages 190. They won't be getting into the NCAA if they are a bubble team with that kind of schedule.
  7. ESPN's take on how first year coaches will do this season. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/insider/story/_/id/27845212/makes-ncaa-tournament
  8. Not Husker news, but it will affect them. Minnesota's Eric Curry is out for the season. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/27861141/minnesota-forward-eric-curry-loses-another-season-knee-injury
  9. 247 crystal ball has D'Andre going to Louisville (75%) - maybe it's a package deal.
  10. He had to retire from the NBA in 2005 when he had it put in originally. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/11216220/fred-hoiberg-iowa-state-cyclones-surgery-replace-pacemaker
  11. CBS Sports picks the Huskers 14th. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/big-ten-expert-picks-2019-20-cassius-winston-has-michigan-state-an-overwhelming-preseason-favorite/
  12. Preseason media poll is out. Huskers picked 13th. https://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/nebraska-basketball-picked-to-finish-near-the-bottom-of-the/article_8eefd414-d85e-5dec-b31b-f005c2162a76.html
  13. Dallas' first two preseason games are 10/8 at OKC & 10/9 at Detroit. OKC game will be on ESPN.
  14. 50 days until the season starts. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/50-days-from-opening-night-of-college-basketball-50-things-to-get-you-ready-for-the-2019-20-season/
  15. It looks like there will be three seniors in the 20/21 season - Burke, Green & Thor. Logically they would have three scholarships to give, but you never know who will leave early (transfer or pro).
  16. Only two more months (61 days) until the regular season starts.
  17. I know who it is, but I'm not impressed with his rapping skills. The thing I find interesting is that his lyrics are very NSFW, so it will be interesting to have him at what I'm sure the university wants to be a family event.
  18. Apparently Arop didn't get his passport in time to travel so he's not on the trip. The OWH says "paperwork", but the only paperwork he should need is a passport.
  19. Unless Dallas releases him, his only options in the US are Dallas or their G League team. Based on the interview in the LJS at his autograph session yesterday he plans on playing for Dallas this year. You would hope that they didn't draft him and are now stringing him along. https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/roby-signs-autographs-to-help-habitat-for-humanity-gets-ready/article_f5e7a755-94fc-5e67-9d33-10ee3b980a6e.html
  20. We still don't have a scholarship available, but this should make Young GI Husker happy.
  21. Even with virtually no one returning, he thinks we're better than Minnesota & Northwestern. That's scary for those two teams.
  22. He started. Had 10 points 4 boards 1 assist & 2 blocks. Looked OK. Needs to work on the defensive end a bit - he's not the most athletic guy on the floor anymore so he needs to anticipate the play more than in college.
  23. Palmer will be playing in the NBA summer league for Phoenix.
