  2. that wasn't the point - spin the wheel and win a banana
  3. re-read what i posted- "reputation" is a subjective term-and who cares about people who believe something that wasn't deserved or factually based? I say his reputation was he was a loser which is better defined then just saying he had terrible resources- most beaver fans would agree with me on that fact and not the opinion/reputation of doing more with less- BTW as far as your silly comment about facilities Erickson came in after ML's first stint and actually did do more with less, he had a PAC championship in year 2 and took a team ML left from 5-6 to 7-5- but Ericksons reputation was he was a winner which of course was based -again on facts. So YOU have never directed any of your comments to the my facts only replied with comments that divert attention off from the main points. anyway, say whatever you want because you're not using logic or facts as a base for your comments at some point you have to understand that it is silly to belabor this thread.
  4. calling us a dumpster fire is really insulting to dumpster fires
  5. so some people use facts like, lots of coaches win at places with crappy resources, a coach that has never won anything consistently for 30 years isn't likely to win titles simply because he "gets" more resources, etc etc etc to determine probable outcome and some people use emotional reasoning for a chance at hoping for a positive outcome- I think we both know where we stand and I'm fine knowing I was right
  6. 15 men go to the urinals with small cocktail wiener shaped fingers- yep all successful proctologists
  7. that reputation was wrong and didn't take much research to understand that it was, unless you make decisions based on emotional wants and needs as opposed to logic based decisions. I guess being lazy and believing what other people say without doing your own research and forming your opinion based on facts would be another reason to think this wouldn't be a dumpster fire (his reputation was put out there because he did a good job marketing himself as a nice guy, so of course people would spread the false narrative that he did more with less as a justification that he'd do well here, but look how silly that sounds now)
  8. If your beliefs are correct he'll be going to Florida, and he's not a man of integrity- family is a big part of why he'd come here over Florida or Tennessee - BTW if he comes back here and makes about 3 million would that be a fair salary to say it wasn't all about money? because Florida and Tennessee will be offering over 4 million
  9. ok i miss read the post I thought he said hire SF before we hired MR-
  10. I don't think so because I'm assuming you'd know what Eichorst said my composition is fine- you need to learn the facts. Re-read your post I was making specific comments to the bolded type had nothing to do with Bo being a hot head- you said he was fired because of that- my point was clear on that statement.....to make it clear...again the weasels in charge did NOT publicly cite Bo's behavior as the reason they fired him (even though that was probably the reason they did- that wasn't the point I was making though) who doesn't remember the Eichorst statement about Iowa???
  11. compared to hiring a .500 career coach in his waning years and not hiring an up and comer with winning credentials is misguided and non-nonsensical how? Eichorst knows that answer, oh yeah his logic got him fired and UFC thanks him for being a dipwad
  12. pretty simple concepts- So the summary is: if you believe what Eichost said when he fired Bo then you're whole premise is wrong.
  13. yeah- you're correct I guess the phrase should be "money will not be the only or main factor"
  14. SF's team beat a pretty good SMU team yesterday despite the fact they had 3 turnovers my bet is he's going to go undefeated this year- only one team that might beat him left on the schedule
  15. Iowa enjoys stomping our arse ever since Eichort used them as an excuse to fire Bo- I bet they still roll out that quote every year for motivation. for that reason along with the coaches/players giving up, bet the house on an Iowa win
  16. whoever we get, and I think the only one they should be trying to get is SF, then unlike Riley taking over a team with a winning record, most reasonable fans should cut him some slack- next years schedule doesn't look good for whoever we get. but progress needs to be defined season by season- it was clear to me from the day they hired Riley, failure was only a matter of time- easy to predict and many did and were run out on a rail by the emotional rose-colored glasses crowd
  17. SF has made it very clear that "IF" he came back to Nebraska, money wouldn't be the first or second reason for coming or preventing him from wanting to come back. That of course doesn't mean he will be under-paid, just that if Florida or Tennessee thought they could out bid Nebraska to get SF and SF decided he wanted to come back (assuming we did the right things for that to happen) money will not be a factor in that decision.
  18. agreed- most people get caught up in the crude remarks, sideline blow ups, and that whole secret taping of his comments (rightfully IMO) about our fair-weather fans after the tOSU comeback game, to actually fairly reflect on those positive facts and negative circumstances.
  19. if you believe Herr Eichorst's statement about "why" they fired Bo then your whole premise is mistaken- they couldn't even be publicly honest about their reasons, which is why they are no longer in those positions - integrity is something within a person, that apparently Eichorst nor is boss ever possessed also, Bo may have been the despicable human you believe he is/was, but one thing is for sure he spoke his mind and was honest about his thoughts, however crass or crude they were- and all of his behaviors which most fans that hate Bo use as reasons for their negative opinions, seems a bit strange if you juxtaposition it with your statement that people would ignore those behaviors "if" he won championships. that is not something to be proud of and and certainly doesn't exude integrity or a principled position.
  20. so like I thought I stated clearly, putting all those emotional prejudices aside how is Cowherd wrong?
  21. You act like supporting the position that firing Bo was a bad thing- forget for a moment about your emotions relating to Bo, I believe Cowherd had valid points and logic in his comments regarding the firing of Bo. Firing a coach after a winning season is bad, firing a coach who never had a losing season is just plain dumb. those are basic facts that yes sometimes, but not often, need to be ignored, however we did it 2 times in recent history and both times it hasn't ended well for us. I'd love to have a few back to back 9+ win seasons right about now.
  22. since Riley coaches like a high school coach I think this is on par with Gerry Faust of Notre Dame - Faust was a high school blue blood
