  1. Anyone see Iowa State beat TCU today? man if only Mike Riley had that ISU talent....
  2. This is such bullsh**. Why would Florida Fire this dude? he has taken Florida to two championship games in 2 years. this would be worse than firing Bo Pelini, and Frank Solich in my opinion.
  3. No thanks, Bohl is sort of old, and I think that Nebraska should go after Frost. Frost is young and if he is successful in Lincoln, there would be continuity for at least 25 years.... I don't think there would be as much patience for Bohl as there would be for Frost.
  4. Yea it is too bad, I don't think that people genuinely hate or dislike Mike Riley. I know from seeing him interview he seems like a real stand up guy. Bo was the antithesis of Riley. Bo definitely did not embrace Nebraska. The stress of the job was too much for him to handle. He was very reluctant to hire competent coaches. Carl the coke head, Kaz the wife beater, John Papuchis yelling at fans at big red breakfast, Marv Sanders the philanderer, it was a strange cast to say the least. I think Riley's downfall is not so much of his fault. I think a good argument can be made that Eichorst is more culpable for hiring a coach who was the wrong fit. Riley is a pro style likes to toss the ball around. That is not Nebraska football, and the AD should have known better. I do admit I was a bit harsh on Riley. I do wish him the best, but I also don;t want him coaching this team next year...
  5. I don't see anything changing. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 07 type implosion to be honest. How cold you play defense for Nebraska and have confidence in Diaco? Shoot they make you play ten yards off the ball, and start people like Lamar Jackson who refuses to tackle. I just don't see anything changing, we might lose the remainder of our games.
  6. LOL no that wasn't my point, but I would argue that Nebraska usually has more talent on its teams than Michigan State. Football is not just based on talent, talent can only take you so far, it is heart and determination that propels the talent to championship levels. Example I would say that the Washington Capitols hockey team is as talented as the Pittsburgh Penguins, yet Pittsburgh always finds a way to win the Stanley cup. Why? I believe that Sidney Crosby is a natural leader and he knows how to win. My point is, every team has talent, shoot our 97 championship team starters mostly comprised f in state players. Heart and determination can accomplish great things.
  7. Alright, lets see who can guess where this team ends up in wins and loses for the remaining games. Purdue: L Northwestern: W Minnesota: W Penn State: L Iowa: L
  8. Oh I got ya, we don't have the talent... I guess Iowa State must have comparable talent with Oklahoma. I wonder what Texas' problem is, the longhorns seem to be loaded with talent, but, yet we don't see texas lighting up.
  9. Yea, lol Pee wee, but tat is not relevant... Year 3 we should be seeing some results that are positive, tell me what positive do you see in year 3? We have true freshman start who are clearly not ready to play, Lamar Jackson, Jordan Stevenson. We have the worst running game in the BIG. We have a terrible defense. Our QB is passing around 50% with a ton of ints. We have been getting clobbered. This is year 3, so what direction are we going under Riley?
  10. No the problem is people accepting sh*t coaching and lack of player development. Stuck in the 90s because people don;t like getting pummeled by the entire BIG? get real dude
  11. especially coaches who lose 50% of their football games.
  12. I was just thinking the same thing.
  13. https://www.landof10.com/nebraska/nebraska-making-huge-mistake-let-go-mike-riley-tristan-gebbias-dad-says Apparently if Nebraska fires Riley the "calibraska" movement will die. This article was such a load of bull. I understand that players were recruited by Riley and Co. but it is not like their recruiting prowess is lighting up the college football world. If Riley continues to lose, recruiting will take a hit, so the way I see it, recruiting is going to be adversely effecting regardless if we keep Riley. I don't want to knock on Gebbia's dad, he is obviously concerned about his kids future, but he should see the big picture, because with our O-line play, I worry about his kids future as well. Plus it is about team success, not the individual.
  14. Absolutely, SE even stated that our talent level was not reflecting its potential in the win loss category. I believe he said "we just didn't win the games that mattered the most." While I agree, I don't think that being 0-2 against Iowa and 1-1 against Purdue is what anyone had in mind when Riley was brought in...
  15. Totally agree, the UCLA game was a deceptive in many regards. I too had the belief that the game plan was an indication on where we were going as a team. I was very optimistic. However as we have seen that did not come to fruition. The biggest concern is the lack of a more diverse run game. Never see a pitch, never see lineman pulling... It is line straight up and watch our O-line get handled. It is honestly very depleting to witness.
  16. I was not a fan of Pelini, but to say that he left Riley with a team void of talent is not true. Literally everyone listed above with the exception of Mcmullen was drafted in the NFL and plays, except Randy because he likes the ganja. Any short comings of this team has to be attributed to Riley at this point. It is year 3, the team play overall has regressed. I don't know how this season will end, but I have a good feeling that this will occur Wins: Minnesota, Northwestern. Loses: Purdue, Penn State, Iowa. My reasoning for placing the three loses is that Mike's teams seem to lack the ability to contend with teams who play physical and have comparable talent to us. Purdue will outplay our lines, as will Iowa. Penn State we will see a bend don't break D get decimated. I expect to see our linebackers exposed all game long by Saquon Barkley matching up in the passing game. Lack of an efficient qb spy will lead to Mcsorley picking up 3rd downs with his feet. If Diaco had any sense he would call a lot of man coverage, put J. Kalu back at CB in replace of Lamar Jackson, possibly bring in Marquel Dismuke to cover Saquon in the passing game. But I am sure it will be the usual disaster... Than it is an early Christmas and we hire Scott Frost.
  17. Yea, I just don;t understand what good it does by telling the players how great they are when they have not earned any of that. It seems that what the players need is to be brought back to reality.
  18. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/practice-report-oct-bob-diaco-says-nebraska-working-toward-best/article_33b4d010-b912-11e7-b178-5bda96e50056.html This is the stuff that is plaguing Nebraska football. Diaco says Nebraska will have the best defense in the country, it just will take time. All we hear is talk, we don't see action just talk. Talk is cheap. Who cares what a person says, it is the actions that speak volumes of a person and a teams character. We heard Kalu will be the best safety in the country, we heard Lamar Jackson say he turned a page.... The problem is these players are told how great they are without even doing anything to show they deserve these titles. How about praising your team after they do something good, not after getting destroyed the last three weeks....
  19. Must be all that superior talent ISU has been raking in. lol it cannot be coaching right Mike Riley? lol
  20. hahaha UCLA? are you for rel? what makes UCLA so appealing? little brother to USC, no where near the tradition as Nebraska.
  21. hahah Tim Beck? have you seen Texas's offense? how about how he was run out of Ohio Sate? Shawn Watson? he did pretty bad at Texas too, he had a good year at Louisville but they Teddy Bridgwater playing QB, so I think Teddy gets most the credibility.
  22. If Riley wanted to rebuild this thing he needed to start laying the foundation in year 1. He could have done this by hiring a different defensive coordinator than his friend, and he should have gone out and hired a top notch offensive coordinator. And the play calling is pretty bad as well.
  23. Man I would love to answer this. I agree with you Bo was a bad fit, but so is Riley. What concerns me about Riley is we don't seem to play fundamentally sound football. The tackling is not good, players are allowed to stay in the game after making mistake after mistake, i.e. T. Lee pick sixes. And Riley plays true freshmen who are not game ready. Lamar Jackson, Jordan Stevenson. He has fired a D cordinator, and a special teams coach and a D line coach. These coaches should have never been here in the first place. We have very few freshmen who seem like bright spots in all honesty, J.D. Speilman is an exception, not the rule. We don't have good top talent running backs, and our offensive line play is atrocious.
  24. While I understand what you are getting at, I still find it egregious to see that Nebraska is an underdog to Purdue. Year 3 of a coaching regime at Nebraska should not be going into Purdue on underdog. Although people accept that we are just not that good right now, I refuse to accept this as the standard of Nebraska football.
