Livin' in Dallas, I hear about the TCU Horn Frogs alot these days. Actually, there is quite a following here despite the obvious TX/OU fans in the area. I have alot of respect for the TCU program and personally, would love to see the Huskers add this quality opponent and recruiting area to the schedule. Decides this morning to do some investigation on this program's recruiting and final rankings. In my research, I used Rivals for the rankings and I used the AP Top 25 for the final rankings. Here's the info: Year Recruiting Rankings (Rivals) Final Rankings (AP Top 25) 2010 60 Next Season 2009 46 Currently #4 2008 96 #7 2007 80 Out of Top 25 2006 61 #22 2005 54 #11 2004 55 Out of Top 25 2003 69 #25 2002 79 #23 Here's some interest notes on their recruiting. In 2002 they only had five recruits with with 4 (two) or 3 stars (three). In most years they did not have any four star recruits. In 3-4 of these recruiting years they had no four star recruits. It's a weird season all in all ... we could actually have just one loss. The Iowa State loss was painful and a waste ... and the collapse at VT hurt. Thus far, it's the TT game that truly went "south". I wouldn't have thought that we could go this season with just one loss season ... and it would be TT. In the end, we have three losses thus far ... the result of an inexperienced team and coaching staff that is bringin' it together and learning how to be Huskers again. We are no spoiler at this point IMHO ... we must win out to atleast show we have more grit, heart and determination to make up for a lack of talent. We can and should win the last two games ... and then as said ... we truly can be a spoiler. I would love to see us get the chance to be that spoiler. To beat a talented Texas team would be a good "miracle" in my book. More than that ... I'd love to see the BSC get blown up and a playoff get more considering. For now ... it's one game at a time! Just curious to here others opinions. I can see the Huskers winning out the remainder of the year ... and I could see us losing all the games. SheepdogMark

EXACTLY ... as I look at the Big 12 North verses each other and the South ... teams like the Huskers get beat by the North teams usually or the middle of the North beat the better of the South (example Baylor over MU at Mizzoo. I know that can be debated. However, from my perspective, we could lose the rest of our games ... ... and we could win them all! We have Kansas this week. We have to find a way to get that W and move on to the next. If we can make it to the conference championship and then beat Texas ... then lets talk about a real bowl! That's what I'm thinkin! We were 0-1 in this years shameful schedule. The only real game we played was VT and although we should have won that game ... look at how VT's season has turned out. It's crazy to hear we shouldn't play Boise ... now there's a great program I can get behind. Love TCU as well. Husker fans need to stop resting on the past and embrace the programs of the future. What are you afraid of Husker fans ... are we a bunch of pu&&y's anymore that we have to schedule three puff schools. It's not like the Big 12 North is a tough side of the conference. I mean, we can't even be competitive with the middle of the pack of the South. Personally, I'm sick of hearing about how "tough" the Big 12 is. Where is the "blackshirt" mentality of the fan. It's like we want to be called champs but play a bunch of "chumps" while we say we play a tough schedule. I can't get to a game ... but I don't see how fans pay those ticket prices to see some of these schools. SheepdogMark

My take is that he isn't "sold" yet. Every big decision in my life has been made when the positives far out weigh the negatives. Do you think he watched the Iowa State game ... ? There's my answer. I'm still with Big Willie ... patience ... But I'd also like to see our Huskers sell him on the idea of why he should come to Nebraska ... we will see what kind of heart we bring to the game this weekend. SheepdogMark

What exactly do you call it when you start a thread putting people down and putting words in their mouth saying that they claimed his career was over, when nobody made such claims? As far as I can see, you are doing the exact same thing you are calling out. Friend, You should read this thread ... read the thread I put a link to ... then follow me on my posts. I said what I said there because there's seems to be quite a few people that go down the road you just went down ... Thus, I put what I said out there ... so I wouldn't be accused of that either. Perhaps we disagree ... but the thread I posted a link to does have many people "claiming/speculating" that his season was over ... as I see it. Billyball, maybe it's the pessimist in me ... but I'm with you. I see more of a chance that we lose Gabbert and Rome then we steal away Kony Ealy from Mizzoo. A debate could be made for all three recruits going to Mizzoo just as easy as they all come to the Huskers. At present, our Huskers are just like in the movie Top Gun ... "we have a confidence isssue". We are not playing fundamental football, atleast on the "O" side of the ball ... and that makes for some embarrasing televised games. Kinda makes you wonder if you want to play OU on TV and if you want to make it the Big 12 Championship. We need to get back to the basics and play with lots of heart! SheepdogMark

Always funny how those who have all the solutions to the Huskers problems are also the ones who create "worst case scenario's". Enjoy the read ... just reporting ... you decide after you read the thread. And by the way, I'm not tryint to stir up "crap" ... it does get frustrating sometimes with all "tudes" here and the "no it all" folks. I'm just a fan and am here to support my team and love to read about my Huskers.
