  1. I envision the Huskers winning and then carrying Coach Riley out on their shoulders.
  2. For one, much of his family (including his parents) still live here. And no, that's not what I was told about Petersen, nor was that what I was told about Richt. No need to be a smartass.
  3. I remember when Bo was here and wasn't showing much progress I suggested that we should try to get Petersen from Boise. I was politely reminded by the Nebraska contingent that he would never, ever leave Boise -- they had a setup for his ill son (or something like that), and that I was wasting my breath. Later down the road I suggested that we should go after Mark Richt, due his Nebraska ties. Once again, people ridiculed me and told me, "He can't even win at Georgia with all that talent; we don't want him!" Then, when I voiced concern about Riley, I was told, "He worked wonders with literally nothing at Oregon State... just think of what he'll do with our resources!" All that said, please Scott, come home.
  4. But what if they don't? I guess we should all be cheering for him to win tomorrow. Gruden has already told them he's not interested, from what I've heard. Dan Mullen is interviewing with them after the Egg Bowl. I expect him to be coaching the Vols next year.
  5. I'm reassured to hear this, but at the same time, didn't he tell UCF that he had no plans of leaving, he wasn't done building, etc.? That kinda goes against your whole "word as good as gold"/integrity rationale.
  6. It is strange that he included the word "yet." If he starts backpedaling at this point, we're in trouble.
  7. I admire his loyalty to Riley, but I honestly would've been surprised if he ever played a down for the Huskers, anyway. Best of luck to the kid.
  8. Moos knows what's at stake. He knows it's Frost or bust. There simply is no alternative. We desperately need him to unify the fan base and to get this program rejuvenated. I fully expect Moos to come through.
  9. If we don't get Frost, I'd take Stoops, or Tressel. No Bielema, no Leach.
  10. But who, exactly, would be a sledge hammer hire? I can't think of anyone, unless they can lure Osborne out of retirement.
  11. They'll end up with Norvell I think... a guy who will take advantage of being able to maintain a program after the real star (Fuente) left
  12. Looks like Chip has chosen UCLA. I find it odd/interesting that it says that NU reached out to him. https://florida.247sports.com/Article/Sources-Chip-Kelly-Has-Made-His-Decision-110912956
  13. I have faith in Hedley, and in Moos. I just pray that Hedley isn't just pulling our collective leg.
  14. Anyone else think that possibly Chip is waiting to see what's going to happen at Oregon? Taggart is rumored for a couple positions, and if he leaves, Kelly could possibly return there?
  15. I misread that for a second as "UCF AD @UCFDannyWhite has signed Scott Frost to a five-year extension"
  16. I don't know who this Lars Anderson guy is, but I don't believe a word he says. No way do the Gators offer $8-million, and if they don't land Frost or Kelly, their next targets are Strong and Taggart. Now, if they miss out on Chip, will they come after Frost again? I'm sure they will. They won't get him, though. I'm confident that Moos and Frost have a preliminary deal in place. Moos comes across as a guy who has his shi.... stuff together.
  17. Looks like the Gators may be coming after Frost again https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-florida-preparing-widen-search-beyond-chip-kelly-200936146.html
  18. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/florida-football/good-news-gators-ucla-reportedly-moving-chip-kelly/
  19. Strange - it was reported a little while ago that UCLA had "moved on" from Kelly
  20. Yep -- if Moos doesn't land Frost then he better find a way to lure Osborne out of retirement
  21. Yeah, Texas is probably my most hated opponent. I took a leak on the side of their stadium back around 2002, and I have no regrets.
