  1. Another possibility is Peetz - he's still pitching his ideas to Brian Kelly but he likely won't be retained. Would explain why Joseph accepted without the OC being officially named?
  2. Harrell. Honestly idc if Baylor had a 12th man or not. Regardless, we aren't getting Grimes, period. These must be the same folks who were saying we should hire Tom Herman or Dan Mullen for OC
  3. People keep saying that "money talks" and I agree - but only if it's a guy at a school that can't match it.
  4. Based on what just happened, at this point I think Baylor would match any offer we made.
  5. WHY would Grimes come to Nebraska? They just won the Big 12 championship game. Makes zero sense.
  6. Tucker doesn't have much experience as an OC, though. He was co-OC for one season at UCF, and is OC at Utah State this year averaging 457 yards per game (152 rushing, 305 passing). we don't
  7. Whipple would be great but I haven't seen him mentioned anywhere.
  8. I'd be interested in Raiola as OL coach, only if his son is part of the deal.
  9. Mark Whipple (Pitt) Warren Ruggiero (WF) Josh Gattis (Michigan) Brian Ferentz (Iowa) Graham Harrell (USC) Bill Musgrave (Cal) Well, it obviously won't be Ferentz. Harrell will likely get a HC job this offseason and is rumored for CSU; he ran an "Air Raid" at USC that was ineffective. Gattis isn't leaving Michigan. So that leaves Whipple, Ruggiero, and Musgrave. Musgrave is a unique name... just returned to the NCAA ranks last year after being in the NFL for nearly two decades. His offense this year didn't exactly light things up, though. USC is going through a shake-up with their staff, so some of their guys might be looking for landing spots. Sean Snyder would be excellent for special teams, but not as OC. Clay McGuire was OC at Texas Tech and ran an "Air Raid" offense... doesn't seem to fit. Mark Whipple at Pitt would be great, and has done an excellent job this year with Kenny Pickett. He's only making around $500K, from what I've found. Would be a heckuva get if Frost could hire him away from the Panthers. Ruggiero at Wake has been mentioned previously, and would be a solid hire as well. The thing is, he's been at Wake for 8 years... why would he want to leave now? Pay increase? Just looking for new surroundings? I'd be happy with Whipple or Ruggiero. If we land either of them I'll be satisfied. Harrell hasn't impressed me as an OC and would be a major letdown. Let's hope this all isn't just a tease from Sipple & Co.
  10. OK, so... let's look at who plays tonight: Pitt vs. Wake Forest Michigan vs. Iowa USC vs. Cal So our OC is coming from one of those six teams? Time to do some research I suppose
  11. Meh... boring hire and hardly an upgrade. I was hoping for Korn or Kittley as OC but both of their regular seasons are already over.
  12. Yeahhhhh.... I don't see that happening. Baylor is on the rise, and we've been on the decline. Gonna have to target a guy who would make a significant pay raise from what he's currently making.
  13. I can picture Frost doing a Google search for "best young offensive coordinators"
  14. The longer this search goes on, the more it tells me that Frost's targets weren't interested. I'm hoping that perhaps the target is still coaching this weekend which is why no announcement has been made, but I have no clue who it could possibly be. Gotta think it's a guy at a lower-level school looking to take the next step?
  15. With Joseph's resume, I don't think we'll have any problems finding WRs.
  16. The thing is, he was interested, which is why I contacted them to begin with. He was disappointed when he never heard anything from them. Look at his top 3: LSU, who has a brand new HC who didn't recruit him and the assistant who DID recruit him just left for Nebraska (who also didn't recruit him); Texas, whose head coach is on a hotter seat than Frost; and Bama, who doesn't really have room for him. He could've come to Nebraska and started as a true freshman.
  17. He’s not; I’ve spoken to him. His Top 3 are Bama, Texas, & LSU. Was predicted to go to LSU but with Joseph’s departure, it’s up in the air. Damn shame Frost & Co. never reached out.
  18. What sucks is that one of my old students is now the #1 ranked WR in Louisiana… I reached out to Frost & Co. multiple times when he was a freshman and told them about him, yet he never heard anything from them. When I mentioned it here people laughed and couldn’t have cared less - yet now it’s all relevant because Mickey Joseph is the one who was recruiting him to LSU and did an in-home visit with him earlier this week. Had Frost & his staff listened, there’s a very good likelihood that this kid would’ve ended up at Nebraska.
