  1. Sporting News asks... When Frost says “no deal has been made” is he really denying a deal is “close”?
  2. I don't understand the hate for UCF fans. If we were undefeated and trying to build our program, would we be happy about another team trying to hire our head coach?
  3. The exact Frost quote in the press conference was, ""I can promise you no deal has been made." Draw your own conclusions.
  4. You forgot to mention the part where Scott talked about a Nebraska fan coming up to Osborne asking for an autograph when he was at the wailing wall in Israel. Frost then said, "that's the way they are". He then went on to say that's awesome but it has nothing to do with our (UCF's) football team.
  5. Given what you said in this portion of your post, what will it say to you if the administration does not make any attempt to wrest control of the situation?
  6. The items listed below are not dots that should be connected.... As a favor to Scott Frost, Tom Osborne visits with UCF players in pre-season. Eichorst is fired after game 3, clearing the path for early-season hiring of a new AD that will have time to zero in on a new head football coach. University admins Bounds and Green harken back to the 90's as the standard when asked about hiring an AD. Experienced AD with ties to Oregon is hired at Nebraska. Fan apathy raises concerns about viability of continuing sellout streak next year. Multiple reports of former players stating that Scott Frost has told them that Nebraska is his dream job. Direct quote from Frost himself, while an assistant at Oregon, re-surfaces. Frost stated then that being HC at Nebraska is his #1 goal. Prominent boosters openly advocate for Frost. Journalists from state's major new outlets openly advocate for Frost. Former players openly advocate for Frost. In one of his first interviews, Moos talks glowingly and at length about positives of Scott Frost (and no one else). Chancellor Green talks openly and very positively about Scott Frost. Frost is reportedly the leading candidate at Florida, then he isn't. Frost is reportedly going to be one of the top candidates at Tennessee, then he isn't. ESPN Big 10 reporter goes on record saying he will be shocked if Frost doesn't end up at Nebraska. Same ESPN reporter says Nebraska has made intentions known to UCF that they want Frost. After airing of Big Red Wrap up, co-host Sean Callahan notes that guest Matt Davison, the best man in Frost's wedding, had a noticeably positive change in attitude. National reporter, a former Sports Illustrated guy that originally hailed from Lincoln, says Frost to Nebraska is in works, 7 years and $35 million. Fan apathy over this season appears to be undergoing gradual change to hope... for future Frost led Huskers. Scott Frost & wife have their first child. Scott's parents (now grandma and grandpa) live in Lincoln. Moos continues to talk with nearly every media outlet in the state, and never offers a word to dispel notion that Frost is top candidate. (Compare Moos behavior to other AD's that generally out of their way to avoid verifying that they're interested in a specific candidate for fear of egg face). The question I keep asking.... If Scott Frost is not coming to Nebraska, why is the University administration and their AD allowing Husker fans to be convinced that he is? Think about it, any one of them could knock down the story in one sentence. It's clear that they want the Frost speculation to be front and center. Is that a diversion or is it because they know they've got their man and they want to build hope for the future?
  7. May mean something, may mean nothing.... Bill Moos did not travel with the team to Happy Valley.
  8. I agree that Scott is not getting involved in the rumor mill. He is working very hard to remain neutral in his body language and words when talking about Frost. Does he knows one way or another? You can bet your bottom dollar he does. But Matt is not going tip his hand either way. Too much on the line.
  9. Not true about Osborne and Moos. They met on October 15. You can read it for yourself.... http://www.omaha.com/huskers/tom-osborne-s-first-impression-of-bill-moos-is-that/article_1b8c2adc-b508-11e7-a495-b7505ff1fe8f.html
  10. Exactly what I said... Matt has been 100% non-committal about Frost coming to Nebraska. He is doing everything he can not to interject himself into the middle of the discussion about his best friend coming to Nebraska. He is purposely downplaying it. But again, that doesn't mean Scott isn't coming. It simply means that Matt is choosing his words very carefully when it comes to Scott's future here. If you don't believe me, ask him.
  11. Many who watched Big Red Wrap Up came away feeling like Matt was less than positive about Frost coming to NU. Watch for yourself... Here's a link to the show... http://netnebraska.org/interactive-multimedia/sports/big-red-wrap-minnesota-recap-1712 Matt's on at 28:30 mark.
  12. I hate to disappoint you, but Sean does not have inside information.
  13. There is no talk of Davison leaving Husker radio. He has been 100% non-committal about Frost. If anything, he's been a little less than enthusiastic about possibility of Scott coming to Nebraska. Doesn't mean Frost isn't coming, but if you're looking for Davison to be your tell, that's not currently happening.
  14. It's not a matter of ignoring or not ignoring. It is whether or not people are viewing what he (or any other paid media member) says in the proper context. Adam's "information" was ultimately shared on a site that gets paid by advertisers for the number of clicks they get. Anyone dishing information on Nebraska, Florida, or Tennessee (accurate or not) right now has a huge audience that is frothing at the mouth for table scraps. It should therefore be weighed in that context. When Damon Benning takes to Twitter to indicate that Frost might stay at UCF, does anyone wonder whether he is saying that to get more people to tune in to his radio show? You should. We're living in the middle of a situation where information is being consumed and repeated, many times with embellishment, at a dizzying pace. People, in general, aren't good at practicing patience. Husker fans are among the very worst right now because they are passionate (and desperate). It's fun to read the comments and speculate about what is happening behind the scenes, but putting too much weight behind any comment or piece of insider information right now comes with the risk of disappointment. I am relatively certain that most people reading a message board like this understand that. Having said that, it's also kind of fun to play the guessing game (as evidenced by the 130 pages of comments in this thread). God bless Bill Moos...
  15. Excellent points. Add this to the fact that Rittenberg get paid for "clicks" and you have the perfect storm where this guy gets rewarded by the red-clad masses for pure speculation.
  16. I'm afraid that train has left the station with Moos as the engineer. He's done nothing to slow down the "Frost to Nebraska" train. Nothing. Having said that, I agree, putting all eggs in one basket seems risky.... unless it never was.
  17. The notion that money doesn't matter to Scott in the end seems hard to believe unless he is just going to stay at UCF for the same amount he makes now. I just find it hard to believe that Scott doesn't want to make more money for his family and his assistant coaches no matter where he's at. I'm guessing there are coaches that have turned down larger salaries, I just can't think of any off the top of my head.
  18. I've never thought it was impossible that Frost would stay at UCF for another year, but the renegotiation of his salary would be interesting to say the least. If UCF dramatically upped Scott's salary, wouldn't they want a significant increase in his buyout? Frost is certainly holding some great cards in this entire situation.
  19. You could be absolutely right, but isn't it also a potential distraction to his current team as well as UCF recruiting to let the speculation continue? I find it very interesting that UCF didn't lock Frost down with raise, etc.., especially if he wants to stay there, as soon as UF and Nebraska started showing interest.
  20. If Scott Frost had already determined he was going to stay at UCF, wouldn't it be extraordinarily easy to put all the rumors to rest? And lets' face it, with an undefeated team that is fighting for a New Year's Six Bowl, it seems like the incentive to declare his intention to stay would help keep the distractions away. By itself it proves nothing, but if you were definitely planning to stay put and had no interest in going elsewhere, wouldn't you just say that?
  21. My recollection is that Severe believed it was going to be Danny White, the AD from UCF.
  22. Think about this for just a second... This guy says Frost isn't going to Florida because he wants to stay at UCF another year with the hope that they will gain entrance to the Big 12? Scott Frost is going to turn down Florida as well as Nebraska to bank his future on UCF hopefully making it into the conference that is run by the University of Texas? Isn't that the same conference that voted not to expand this year? Go back and read Florida message boards, tweets, and news articles from the last few weeks. Frost was the only guy they wanted. It is becoming apparent that he must not have wanted them so they have moved on to Chip Kelly. I could perhaps buy the idea that Frost wants to stay at UCF another year (although even that seems dubious when an opportunity to double or triple your salary is on the table), but when they added the part about him wanting to see if UCF made it into the Big 12 next year... you have to know it is BS.
  23. You are down 33 points with 26 seconds left but you've got a first down on your opponents 14 yard line. I understand wanting to end on any kind of positive note but after you take a 6 yard sack on first down, do you just let it end there? Nope. Call timeout. Three more downs, two more timeouts, two more sacks, and 13 seconds later you sheepishly hand the ball back to your opponent on their 26 yard line so they can take a knee to end the game. It sort of sums up the current state of Nebraska football. Sad, pathetic, and worse. Here's the entire sequence... 1-10 Minn 14 - Patrick O'Brien sacked for loss of 6 yards to the MINN20 (Barber, Thomas). Timeout Nebraska, clock 00:26. 2-16 Minn 20 - Patrick O'Brien pass complete to JD Spielman for 6 yards to the MINN14 (Shenault, A). Timeout Nebraska, clock 00:19. 3-10 Minn 14 Patrick O'Brien sacked for loss of 7 yards to the MINN21 (Coughlin, C). Timeout Nebraska, clock 00:13. 4-17 Minn 21 Patrick O'Brien sacked for loss of 5 yards to the MINN26 (DeLattiboudere).
  24. If you knew that Bill Moos had already locked down Scott Frost as the next HC, would you still want Riley removed immediately? I'm not saying this is the case but I am wondering if anyone thinks it would make a difference in how the final 2 games are handled.
