Understand causality please.  Dress up doesn't make a mass shooter.  All mass shooters are sociopaths. In the latest, was/were identifier was a sociopathic shooter who was also a transgender.

For the best opportunity to defend good and innocents as currently allowed.  Why do you want to restrict good people from the best capability to defend life?  What is your next slippery slope argument if a sociopath kills eight with a 10 round magazine?  You know reloads take about 2-3 seconds, max?

Causality?   You made a pretty clear implication.  Just was clarifying.

    Defend from what?   Zombie apocalypse?

Would you support fully legalizing of fully auto machine guns and grenade launchers, etc.  They would be even better, right?

I have not studied the current wellness curriculum to intelligibly poke holes.  It clearly isn't working.  I will say what has become normal now was once greatly shunned.  Books in Junior High libraries about sexuality, men throwing money at children dances on stages.  It's vile.  And too widely accepted.

Tantamount, the cultural issues we have in this country are a real problem.  They lead to more gun violence than mass shootings.  It's fueled by current policies of dependence on .gov and a complete failure to empower.

There have been 13.2 trillion (150 million * 88 days) people-day opportunities, this calendar year to date, for someone 20-54 to go on a mass shooting spree.   Who are we limiting future sales and transfers for?

Oh boy.  So kids playing dress up and dancing will end up committing mass shootings?  You can’t seriously believe that.

I’ll rephrase,  what legitimately do all these people need an AR or a 30 round mag for that can’t be accomplished with say a shotgun, hunting rifle or a 10 round magazine pistol?

  3. Hey, @DefenderAO, I’m singling you out because you’re on a roll with all these anti gun control posts.  You mentioned “overhauling mental health .”  In what ways?   MH always gets thrown around after shootings, but no one ever seems to give viable suggestions on what to do about it.

Also, would you be opposed to banning high capacity magazines and severely limiting the future sales or transfers of AR-15 style rifles?    I know it wouldn’t solve the problem, but it would very likely lessen the carnage.

Overhead some people at work talking about this one. Sounded interesting.

Unrelated - somehow their discussion of this doc led into a discussion of how we should be sending money to Ukraine because there are over 8 million illegals in San Diego now.

People tying politics to a normal conversation at work is so annoying.

But as far as the show, It’s a good three part documentary on one of the most bizarre events in aviation history.   It definitely provides a lot of “food for thought” on what the heck could have happened.

Basically just would make an absurdly low number of signatures of registered voters required (2% vs 30%) to force a recall election.   I would doubt that DA Willis would actually get recalled by the district that elected her for simply indicting and prosecuting TFG, although this 2% threshold could delay things.  At least Georgia doesn't allow it's Governor the power to pardon.  I'm sure the GA GOP will be changing that next, though.

Pretty alarming.  Even if trump gets indited and the poll flips to Trump light - Desantis, the others probably still don't have much of a chance.   The cult will just sloth over to # 2.   It is sure time for a new party.

I think the Trumpers will go where he tells them to go.  With DeSantis seemingly not in good graces with Trump, I doubt he'll send the MAGATs Ron's way.  Trump will disparage his primary challenger to the point of killing their campaign.  I could be way off on this, but I see Pence as a legitimate contender.  In any case, I think the Dems are in good shape for keeping the WH in '24.

What a load of horse s#!t. These people think they’re above the law. It’s that simple. Nobody should be above being called to testify and provide answers and statements under oath. I don’t care if it diminishes future efforts of others in the same office or not as truth and justice are way more important than any office. Pence is just another example of what’s wrong with our government.

Agreed.  However, if Pence testifies, his own campaign is toast.  It might be already, but I'm betting he and all the other non-Trump Republican 2024 candidates are banking on Trump getting indicted, possibly convicted and one way or another no longer being a candidate sometime in the next year.  Many of Trump's votes will be up for grabs.  If Pence narcs on him now, Pence is done.  Who else would the MAGATS vote for?  Trump will be or is already pissed at DeSantis.  Haley is a long shot.  Pence could grab some votes if he's viewed as somehow "protecting" Trump.  Just my take anyway.

This is probably a dumb question but how do companies or NIL collectives expect to profit from these NIL deals? Like if you give a QB a few million dollars how will they make a profit on top of all that money?

I wonder that too.  I think some are "not for profit", so essentially their income goes to staff salaries and company enhancements, etc.  I think the ultimate return or "profit" is their team competing at the highest level.  I think it's sort of an entertainment expense that wealthy boosters are willing to pay to make this happen.  We all can agree that Saturdays are a heck of a lot more fun when the Huskers are good.   That's how I see it anyway.

Ohio State got screwed on that replay. Not only was he correctly ruled short on the field, there is no way they had conclusive evidence to overturn it.

I agree.  That reversal reeked of bias.  But, tOSU took the brunt of it so at least there's that.

@The Dude is right. If we can't make a bowl next year, what was the point of hiring Rhule? firing Frost?

    I really hope you’re kidding.

just in case you’re not…..uh simply stated, Frost can’t coach.  That wasn’t going to change at NU.  He can craft some impressive offensive plays, but the day to day CEO part was just too much for his abilities.  Maybe some day he’ll figure out some things and work his way up to a good HC job again, but I’m not seeing it.  He’s better suited as an OC IMO.

We need a reset with Rhule and again, in my opinion, have no business expecting a bowl game in year 1.

Yes.  It sucks losing Hausman.  But....now that he's there, I really don't care.

Exactly.  If Rhule and staff can coach, recruit and develop like we hope they can, we’ll be just fine with the players that want to be here.  If some player wants to leave, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

  12. I’m bored with who’s going where, so I’m going with a philosophical post.

Random thought about transfers out of NU.  If I’m being completely honest, I couldn’t care less if they have success or not at their next destination. Not rooting against them or anything.  I just don’t care either way.  I’m here for Nebraska and our team.   I suspect most people here probably feel that way too, but feel the need to “wish them luck “.   Take AM for example, as good of a person he is, it sucks for him that he got hurt again, but after hearing about it the first time, I really haven’t given it a second thought ( until now I guess).   Anyone else feel this way?

I hear ya on the passion part, been tough sledding getting pumped for a perennial sub .500 team.  We're the only p5 team to not go to a bowl in 5 years, right?

I think Rhule will bring the excitement and passion back.  Its like Memorial stadium is my wife of 30 years, and said wife wants to introduce another woman into the equation to spice things up.  A woman who is new in town from carolina, says all the right things and demands excellence in the trenches.  Not sure what trenches im referring to at this point but lets just say im at half mast and its not even spring ball yet

This is one of the best analogies I’ve ever seen.

One way to keep the sellout streak going. I think wt Rhule as HC, I think it was going to continue anyway.  Rhule gives hope of better things to come.

I’ve been 50/50 on renewing.  This probably makes it 60/40 renewing, I’d hate to flush away the priority points built up over the years, but we’ll see.  The passion just isn’t there anymore.  Maybe Rhule can change that.

It is very disappointing to watch how poorly Benhart has progressed. I coached against this kid throughout high school in both football and wrestling. I was genuinely excited to get his commitment and see how he would do. He has not gotten any better and dare I say, he is worse now than when he was a true freshman?

My impression is that he finished the season better than how he played in the first couple games.  I recall seeing somewhere that PFF graded him as our top OL for what it’s worth.

Eh, those Jimmys and Joes looked a lot better under Busch than they did Chins.

Somewhat, yes.  But my point is that the J&J are more important and we shouldn’t fret about what some Gamecock fans had to say about Our new OC.  We need some players.  I just used Chins as an example.  No D line studs, no JoJo, no CTB.  Same Chins.  Much, much different than 2021, when we thought he might be pretty decent.
