  1. The hire of Riley will go down as one of the worst hires in the entire history of college football. At least we got Frost out of the deal.
  2. Waste of time. Time better spent with recruits that have legit interest. We need to win at an elite level before we will get interest from this level of a prospect from the SEC states. Eventually that will come under Frost.
  3. Nebraska, Virginia, and North Carolina. Last season he was 54-of-71 attempts for 878 yards and six touchdowns, ran for 548 yards and nine touchdowns on 80 carries. Caught 19 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown. He almost ran for 7 yards a carry and I'm sure that includes sack yardage. He will be their starter this season.
  4. Bo and Riley taught soft football concepts. That has never worked here and never will. This is a place where you gotta play physical brand of football to win at an elite level and the head coach has to be a great player development head coach. We will never recruit at a level where you can just put someone out there and out athlete the other teams on a weekly basis. OL must lean when blocking, not the stand up and be a wall crap we have seen with the zone concepts for many years. The DL play hasn't dictated things at the LOS for most years going back to when Bo was hired. You gotta be aggressive and cause chauose on the OL to disrupt their rhythm and get pressure. Under Frost we are back to teaching OL concepts that require them OL to be physical and lean block and the DL is back to attacking.
  5. I am glad Frost didn't offer Terry Wilson out of JUCO. He is not a good passer.
  6. They want 5 on scholarship. If Bunch ears an offer, they will have their QB spots filled if they only bring in McCaffrey.
  7. Bunch and Gebbia are currently battling it out for the starting job. If Vedral gets cleared to play this year, which he will if the rule is passed that allows immediate illegibility for a student with a certain GPA and had a coaching change, then the depth heading into the fall will likely be: Vedral as the leader since he knows the offense the best and will be able to run it better than others at this time. Doesn't mean he would start the whole season, just ahead of others right now. Bunch and Gebbia Martinez - not ready yet. We can only guess if they bring in a grad transfer. There are some that have been to the practices that say Bunch is ahead of Gebbia right now.
  8. To the public it may seem like he just up and left, but they were already talking about his fit in the new offense sine December. He almost left before the spring semester started. He just isn't the skill fit for this offense. He will be a starter somewhere that is a pro style offense.
  9. Even though Burrow was the better QB today, Urban will go with Haskins and make the pitch of him having a higher ceiling than Burrow as the reason. Burrow is talented and should transfer if he isn't name the starter and be a starter for another school. If he does transfer, I will cross the fingers he comes to Nebraska. He isn't going to be a perfect fit for the Frost offense, but he would be legitimately in the run for the starting job here. that would help us to redshirt Martinez so he can be fully recovered and ready to compete for playing time as a redshirt freshman.
  10. I feel very good about where RB recruiting stands right now. From what I know as of tonight we have a legit chance to land these RB targets: https://247sports.com/player/rahmir-johnson-92125 https://247sports.com/player/breece-hall-46050232 https://247sports.com/Player/John-Bivens-46048378 I would take 3 RB's if you can land two on this list.
  11. His high school has had a run of QB's going to B1G, PAC, etc, schools for a few years in a row. Luke is a good athlete. Personally I would bring in 2 QB's this year.
  12. We should have a great chance at landing this kid. He stood out in high school. I watched him play his entire senior season when I was watching JD. JD stood out more, but I felt this kid should have had B1G offers from all of the local offers out of high school. He blossomed well his first year out of high school.
  13. Frost wants as much speed as he can get from RB's. They train their RB's in practice to try and outrun the defender. Speed, fast, speed, fast, speed, fast. Frost isn't going to recruit a RB that doesn't fit the schemes that Frost runs. Besides, this kid's rating will go up as the services do their evaluations. Always remember this run when looking at the RB's that Frost takes a commitment from:
  14. This kid has a lot of upward growth and player development in him as he goes into his senior year and into college. I would love to land this kid. Him, the kid from Arizona, or the kid out of Iowa would be good additions to the team. We will get the DE position rebuilt with better talent than we have had the last 10 years (depth wise).
  15. We were never at the top of his list. He attends a private catholic high school. ND bound. Enokk Vimahi, Trevor Keegan, Danielson Ike, Jack Buford, and Ira Henry are some names that I am familiar with that we have some interest level from. Our of those names we likely have the best shot at getting Danielson Ike. https://www.hudl.com/profile/9389354/danielson-ike
  16. This. Also Isiah Williams out of Missouri. Frost is looking for a certain skill set. Duggan is a very good QB and will do great things at the next level, but Frost knows what he wants and will go and get it.
  17. It is known he doesn't let star ratings dictate who he recruits and who he has on his board. He has recruited to his system for a while now and knows what works (fits) and what doesn't. That is how he will recruit - fit. At the same time though he is still going to recruit guys that are given 5-stars and 4-stars. The data shows that there is a recruiting bump for almost every coach with their first full cycle. Riley had a bump up in his first full cycle compared to the transition class as well. It is highly likely Frost will as well, just not a major move up in the numbers.
  18. Current head coaches. Transition class vs full cycle. The majority of active head coaches did better with their first full cycle than their transition class. That isn't a surprising stat, but how consistent it is across the country regardless of location and conference gets your attention. Chances are very good that Frost will bring in a recruiting class that will be in the top 20 for 2019 NSD. If that does happen, it will be +7 average spot improvement (or better) over Riley's classes. Meaning, significantly better talent would be coming to Nebraska.
