  1. That is very fair, Dennis plays fast and smooth with a whole bunch of attitude. He's the sort of guy we need to make the jump up the Big 10.
  2. People forget how big and physical Amukamara was in high school. Dennis looks great, but more along the lines of Bootle and Kalu.
  3. From high school: This year, he is the leading tackler at Hutchinson, who is ranked 3rd in JUCO.
  4. Sophomore highlights are up. He is very, very fast. Looks like a Randy Stella, Ira Cooper, Terrell Farley, or Demorrio Williams sort of athlete.
  5. The guy running him down at the end is sophomore linebacker Devon Jackson who was covering the slot at the beginning of the play.
  6. Algarin is on scholarship for track and would not count against the 85 until he steps on the field for football. It is a no-risk situation for us.
  7. His sophomore highlights got put on Hudl two days ago and we offered him yesterday. I think if you want to understand the offer, you should watch him in action.
  8. For a variety of reasons, the best offensive linemen in high school play tackle. The top 5 OGs in the 247 Composite all play tackle for their high school. All four NFL All-Pro OGs played OT in high school and three of them played OT in college as well.
  9. He is the 2nd best player I've ever seen whose name ends in Shawn Lynch.
  10. I completely agree that long term we need offensive tackles and edge rushers. As of right now, the lack of a perimeter threat is the major thing holding our offense back that can be addressed with a freshman.
  11. I think that he's the most important recruit in the class for the next year. We lack a reliable second receiver to Spielman and he's got the ability to let JD dominate from the slot rather than get pushed outside.
  12. He looks like a prototypical rural school guy that buries his opponents because he's got great feet and good hands along with functional strength. Watch his film against a really good team from Dutchtown. They're anchored by high 4-star Alabama commit William Anderson (28) and the only time they line up against each other Anderson has Durham laying on top of him. The same thing happened when he lined up against Oregon commit Bradyn Swinson and Georgia Tech commit Billy Ward. He's a really, really good high school offensive lineman. So the obvious question is why haven' these other schools offered Durham if he can play at a high level. His team went 2-8 as a junior and he didn't go to any national camps that I could find. That would be part of it. Maybe he's not actually 6'4" 280 but rather 6'1.5" 265. I don't know, he looks like a really good grinder from everything I've seen.
  13. You always are looking for faster players but he is big, looks like he moves well on film, is super strong, and is a pretty good long jumper. It's certainly the sort of player you want on Nebraska at this point.
  14. Plays a lot like Corey Whitaker did coming out of high school.
  15. Gray ran a 4.85 at the Army National Combine this January. I wouldn't read too much into that number however as it's mostly the result of his terrible 10 yard time (1.81). Almost everybody has a poor showing at this combine because it's one of the few that actually provide an accurate time. At The Opening, he ran a 4.66 because he's not a super fast guy but he's far from slow.
  16. I'll be honest, that time is surprising. That's Ahman Green/Zack Bowman sort of speed and it just doesn't show up on his tape. He's shifty and strong with great vision, but I don't know if he's a 10.5 burner unless they are timing the 100y.
  17. Looking at your location now, I feel foolish for missing the tongue resting firmly in your cheek.
  18. Garcia is now up to 24 in the new 247 rankings.
  19. I was seven years old and sitting in the west balcony with my Grandpa for the 1994 Colorado game. This was the first season that I really followed football after remembering the feeling at the end of the '93 season. Boy, did this season deliver on that hype; Lawrence Phillips dominating the Spring Game, Tommie Frazier running around West Virginia on TV, Frazier's subsequent blot clot being on the news and in the paper, Wyoming's QB getting folded in half. Nebraska was a super fun team to watch that was just destroying over-matched teams that couldn't physically handle our strength and speed. Colorado, on the other hand, was battle tested against great competition. While our star QB was out, their triumvirate of Kordell Stewart, Rashaan Salaam, and Michael Westbrook were the toast of the college football season by putting up insane numbers and completing the craziest Hail Mary in college football history at Michigan and a last second field goal to win in Austin. It was a battle of top ranked teams and the 200th consecutive sell-out of Memorial Stadium. I ate so many Runzas.
  20. Romney's likely to take a 2-year mission. He is considered a very strong lean to BYU as he has two older brothers playing there.
  21. Eric Crouch Ndamukong Suh Ameer Abdullah Rex Burkhead Barrett Ruud
  22. Absolutely! I think you could make a good argument for Alabama, Nebraska, Oklahoma, or Ohio State as the best program over the past 60 years. You can manipulate the data to say a lot of things, but one thing is certain, since Nebraska hired Bob Devaney, we have more wins than any other team and more undefeated National Championships.
