  1. I realize the need for 6pm first pitch games but in March (at least early/mid March) why can't they play earlier.. 4pm (warmer) and would still enhance ticket sales. I'd make the drive for a mid march 45° game but I won't for a 6pm (home at 10:00pmish) 45° game.
  2. Did you read the post or just jump to poster slander? No where did I interject "my" opinion on what DR is thinking? I did ask the original poster if he personally knows DR. I don't want to come off as snobbish, but wowsers, your "hypocritical" comment is nothing more than showing you didn't fully comprehend the context of the subject. Have a great day!!
  3. You mean 3* recruits like say Ameer & Rex? I'd say those are two backs any and every college QB would love in their backfield... You constantly push the star ratings and ignore the fact that the NFL's hall of fame walls are covered with what would have been 3* or less athletes.. Billy C. had a 4* loaded roster and where did that get him? Truth is, you only love bashing and slandering anything this staff or any previous staff's have ever done/tried/wished for. Do you know him personally? Did he tell you he needs to be surrounded with 4 & 5 stars? Did he say to "you" that if our staff can find him 5 or more 4* players he's in? No, first NO you don't know him and second NO he didn't say that. How about posting assumptions rather that untruthful facts for once. (and btw, I fixed the post for you)
  4. This loss might be a really good thing. We all want to play in the post season and with the total number of injuries the team has suffered thereby creating a shallow bench.. This might let our men get their legs back and result in much better effort and staying power in the NIT.. Hope that turns up to be the case!!
  5. DRatings does not have Nebraska even being considered for the NIT at this time (last update was this morning) D Ratings BRACKETOLOGY
  6. There goes the streak... another stinking journalist boasting about a "streak".. for sure the death of it.. Bland, shame on you!!!
  7. No, i don't care about party.. I posted for the "truth" shock.. every reporter on cable.. regardless of their broadcaster (cnn, msnbc, fox, abc, nbc, cbs, npr) ... instead of doing real journalism they push the talking point of the check provider... This was just a video that shocked me so much as every point she rehearsed first and then presented as false turned out to be truth. I'm certain I wouldn't have to look hard to find a similar video regarding say hannity lies. It's the lies that i posted the video.. Just tired of all the lying is all.
  8. lol... fixed it also, i should never post this stuff... I am not political so I shouldn't post this but its just so in our face these days. makes me want to vomit.
  9. This shocked me... I used to trust CNN can't anymore. Same with every mainstream new source I just can't. I mean come on MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace more agenda BS over facts. Sadly, we are seeing this truth from all US media outlets (all of them) instead of reporting fact, they report agenda... Disgusting, who can trust anything said by our corrupt media these days? LINK
  10. Hmm... interesting read here. LINK (regarding Big 12 expansion) & LINK (regarding Clemson & FSU) Might the B1G go after Clemson and FSU while also going after Cal and Washington. (can't state it enough, Oregon doesn't have the Fed Research Dollars) and.... Back to my self ban!! Can't Risk! Won't Risk!! The Streak!!! GBR!!!!
  11. You want to know the truth... I've also banned myself from participating in the radio broadcasts... gonna keep the ban going until the win streak ends.. I can read the box score after and watch YT video's to keep up. (I'll confess also, I read this forum at least daily also but I'm trying to refrain from posting my whining rants.)
  12. One dragon slayed, well done men!! On to tomorrow, need to get that dub!! Seriously, I think it is a tougher match up than either SEC team because emotionally the focus most likely has been on our SEC opponents. Tomorrow is a scary match up. Regardless... Let's Go!! Awesome start!! Would love to see Maryland win their game today too. B1G needs to publicity!!
  13. Taking a closer look at what seems to be the 4 most talked about schools to be "next in line to join the B1G" per NSF (National Science Foundation) chart (link above) U of Washington Grant Funding 2021 ranked #5 (shocked when I saw this) Georgia Institute of Technology is next at #20 (thought this would be higher) then comes: Florida State #83 (barely ahead of Nebraska at #87) Oregon #149 (just no, really, just NO)
  14. Honestly, I think you play these games as a measuring stick for where you are. Play them loosely with nothing to lose and everything to gain. That would be my approach. Give it your all. Have fun doing it. Leave it all on the field and let the cards fall where they may.
  15. Hope they found a way to hit the ball.. If not it's another sweep against us. Honestly, I don't expect to win the series as South Bama has a strong pitching staff and we all know their bats can't be worse than ours... (yes, I'm still puking over the last performance) Edit: I disgust myself with posts like the one above. It's incredibly distasteful and disgraceful. I need to put myself on time out and not post for the weekend. Very obnoxious post with a loser attitude above. My apology to all husker fans for my foolish and ignorant display of judgement. Hopefully everyone has wonderful weekend and our boys on the field own the series. GBR!!!
  16. I think we all prefer Mary Ann. Lucky arse professor.
  17. Sadly, like everything in life of late, it's a two party analogy. Both have the same motivation and drive... $.$$$ Party A: They want the research revenue and are mostly managed by Geeks/Nerds/Groupies. Their motivation and drive for expansion is comes from more consideration given to research revenue. (Which, until college sports becomes incorporated, is the side I fall into.) They believe universities first priority must remain academic in nature and as such, if the research revenue is not viable from a possible new member said new possible member is snubbed. Party B: They also want the research revenue but much prefer the national media attention gained from sports. Most certainly they will expand not from a research viewpoint but rather a national television audience draw. (Hence why I think Kansas will be part of the next SEC expansion as the SEC wants dominance for TV's in the two major money sports.) Also, imo it makes perfect sense.. both parties get what they want and the pot is mostly balanced and equally divvied up with obvious research funding having a moderate edge over the TV market contracts and it's why Notre Dame holds all the cards. The conference that lands them becomes the dawg conference both in television marketing and research grants.. Notre Dame will eventually be forced to join a conference (sadly really and no, my second favorite team any give day is whomever is playing Notre Dame) and that to me is a perfect analogy of where capitalism gets destroyed and those with the haves squash the those with the have nots. Edit: To again point out the truth about where money rules.. "From the Big Acadmic Alliance Website "Big Ten Academic Alliance universities engage in $10 billion in funded research each year. Leaders from our member universities are exploring ways to promote greater strategic engagement across the spectrum of the research enterprise to leverage and build upon the significant resources and research facilities." So, again, are TV contracts important.. absolutely they are but not nearly as lucrative as research.
  18. or... how about a former head coach and Dave Van Horn pitching coach?
  19. I'm not going to rant... I promise, I'm not going to rant!! Ok, rant over
  20. lol... I've done that Xmas, my ability to not get frustrated (uncontrollably at times sadly admitted) is to not watch/listen (except football, gotta watch the football) and just follow the webcast. That way I can walk away and not miss anything. So there Yes, I know when it comes to baseball I tend to lose my mind quickly.. I just haven't figured out how to be patient with baseball. Maybe someday.. gummies might be necessary
  21. The rant, Ugh... do I want to rant, would be a noob (me) sounding off. The truth however is our guys bats just aren't there. Not sure why, hitting coach, not seeing the ball, over aggressive, under aggressive... what's the problem guys? Also, same old story and it's getting incredibly tiresome. Our men's programs are pathetic at best. Tired of getting my hopes up just to watch mediocrity in every game. Sure, occasionally we see a little success (currently MBB) but still.. in the end.. at best we are mediocre. That said, I think if the season continues at or below mediocrity it will be time for a staff shakeup under Bolt. Seems we are struggling on mound, struggling at the plate and struggling finding any rhythm at all.
  22. Game Day Guys/Gals & Kids.... Let's have some fun in the sun and hit that rock often!! So pumped for the season... LETS GO!!!!
  23. UNC & Notre Dame would be huge gets.. Neither will happen though as Notre Dame is entirely too self loathing and elitist. Kansas won't happen either as there isn't any real need. They're going to be pressured into at least 1 more West Coast team.. (Stanford or Cal likely) and honestly, the research dollars Cal generates is a HUGE factor. (Though Stanford gets a hefty amount too.) The East Coast Schools that make sense are Pittsburgh, Duke/UNC and don't rule out Virginia either... These 4 schools are HUGE research schools. The likes of Utah, Kansas, Oregon, Washington simply can't compare with the 4 east coast schools. If/when expansion occurs it will be in the east and maybe (though doubtful) Notre Dame. Truth is, Notre Dame holds all the cards and they know it. The moment they decide to join either the SEC or B!G conference fully then alignment changes will quickly follow. I can see the SEC saying "we're best in athletics" and B1G saying "so what, we out you 3 to 1 in research $.$$". Nobody wants to admit it though we all know it... the big money for the conference comes from the tax payers pockets through grant dollars and honestly... it's not even close. edit: couple mistakes but mostly a link through 2021 of grant funds for R&D projects and lastly, University of Nebraska's total Grant expenditures year 2020
  24. Hmm... for sure thought both OSU and Indiana would have been ahead of us.
  25. Neither will be interested in Nebraska... maybe creighton but that nebraska bridge was burned... Don't blame Coach Hoiberg if he passes!! To often past players have snubbed their noses at both nebraska and creighton basketball. Rather frustrating if I'm being honest. Both can rot on the bench of any school as far as I'm concerned.
